Went from Ring to Eufy Doorbell with Chime add-on. 1) Ring is far superior at marking the same motion as an "event". If I stand on my porch watering plants the Ring would alert once. The Eufy "sees" motion ever few seconds and alerts continuously. I can log 5-10 alerts for 30 seconds of watering, filling up my phone with notifications. It can act similarly for strangers dropping a package and taking a picture, etc ... This seems like a software immaturity issue, maybe the can fix it in the future? Camera is great though. 2) The Chime add-on setup can be finicky. It will get to a part in the instructions where it says to join the network of the Chime. But, doing so will be a dead-end and you will have to start over. Just acknowledge the message and move forward. Secondly, the instruction have you plug it in ... THEN you need to take a picture of a QR code on the device, guess where that QR code is? Yuuup.... It's on the bottom, so then you need to unplug it, and then take the QR picture, then replug it and wait for the Chime to self-initialize again. But once in place, it works well. We have about a 1 second lag between button press and alert which is acceptable.
I have a Eufy and haven’t had any issues. I’ve had it installed through a TX summer without it frying, so I take that for a win lol. No connection or WiFi issues at all. I got the hardwired (also has the battery to be only battery powered) and the homebase 3.
Have to charge mine every two weeks. Really I charge it weekly and it's down to 50%.
I have a eufy video wireless doorbell. It works great but does require charging every month or so which is kind of a pain. You could use the power from the existing doorbell and not have to charge one. It probably Would be simple to store the old one and reinstall it if you move.
Also, mine does not have a removable battery like the 430 so that would make charging a lot simpler if you bought a spare.
My Eufy without the home base has worked great.
Late to the party here, but shout out to Eufy cams. Actually work very well considering how cheap. We only have one to keep an eye on the animals while we are out. HKSV works seamlessly with the cam. Apple TV 4K's power the "Home" hub. Always change hub setting to ATV if you have HomePods. ATV works a lot better..and best if hardwired. Still have an old nest doorbell, but will likely get an Aqara when the time comes. I like to have one ecosystem in the house.
