I have 2 Nest Doorbell (battery) cameras. One for side door and the other for front door. I also have 1 Nest indoor camera with power and 1 Nest outdoor camera (battery) for the back yard. All work well with Google Home. The Home app displays all 4 very fast and alerts when there is movement. They are not the newest 2k models but really these 1k models work just fine. FYI.

For that money you're probably better off buying the newer gen wired nest doorbell from Amazon US. It works perfectly in the UK and is much faster and quicker to load in the app compared to the battery version.

It's quite rare to see a wired Nest doorbell here, so far I only saw two. I have a battery one, and they are quite frustrating. The battery is miserable in a setting of a tiny front yard with many people or vehicles passing by. Not to mention now I have one year to get rid of it in favour of something that doesn't require an AI subscription as they recently announced the end of the Google One gravy train.

Mine works well. I understand the hesitancy for uploading your video into the cloud for Google to see, I understand why a lot of people don't want that. I'm okay with the trade off. If I ever need to replace it, I will consider a more self hosted/DIY route, but for now I'm happy. You should probably explore the different options before buying. For me it was a combination of 2 things that made me get one. 1. My cat snuck out one night and we didn't notice. Long story short, he's no longer with us. A "your cat got out" notification could have saved him. 2. Door to door salesmen were getting really annoying, so I want to see who was at the door before opening. And telling them to leave is way easier when you're not face to face. I have the battery doorbell, it's been reliable and lasts 3+ months between charges. It's useful without the subscription, because you can still review all your past 3 hours of events for free, which is good enough for what I need. I get package and animal notifications. I read that Ring doesn't store them at all if you don't pay (you can only view the live feed), which is why I bought a Nest over a Ring. I can't answer about the chime, my house didn't have a working doorbell when I moved in, so I rely on a Google Home and the phone apps for the chime, which works fine.

Same. It’s a pretty decent product overall. The battery lasts a good while still, I’ve had mine a few years.

I have the battery doorbell it works fine. You need a nest speaker for the chime. Otherwise it will only notify your phone. If you have TV streamer or a nest hub, it will display the feed when the doorbell rings.

I live in Minnesota. My Google nest doorbell, on battery, is fine all winter. I have to charge it more frequently, but it still works well below freezing

Yes. I don't have power from the house to the doorbell sadly. Irrespective, it works in the depths of a MN winter.
