I’ve never used the G4 so can’t speak to that one. For me, even though it catches a LOT of flak, I use Logitech Circle View and it has worked great. I really like the aspect ratio Logitech went with (taller vs wider) and the “color” night vision. However it is true you need solid wifi coverage near the door and if it has direct sunlight it will overheat. So depending on your home characteristics it might be better to go with something else.

I have the Logitech Circle View doorbells. Two of them actually. One is on my front door and one is on my back door. When I first got them I would have the overheating problem from time to time. I know it was that because when I tried to view the live feed it would say on the black screen that the camera was too hot. Eventually that went away. My back doorbell died earlier this year, out of warranty. Logitech replaced it out of courtesy. They did inform me that they would "lock" the original one after 7-10 days of receiving the old one. Between them shipping the replacement and me receiving it, the old one somehow started working again. At the 10 day mark it quit working again so I can only assume they did "lock" it. The replacement has been working fine, no overheating issues and no real connectivity issues. The front doorbell still works. No overheating issues but it is most times slow to load the live feed and on occasion just says it's not responding when I try to load the feed. This doorbell also goes offline periodically. Sometimes it's seconds in that I get offline and online notifications back to back and sometimes it's minutes. About two weeks ago it went offline for an entire day and I had to pull it off the wall for a few seconds and put it back. The problem is, is that it's HomeKit saying its offline, not my router so I know its not actually offline. I can only assume that's some kind of firmware issue because that doorbell is running a newer firmware than the one on the back door. Logitech seems to be weird about firmware for these things. The only one I ever got was on the front door. I had to request it, for the overheating issue. They don't regularly publish them and I had to ask for the one that I did get. I also think the glass on the front doorbell is starting to delaminate toward the bottom. That's apparently a known issue that's been discussed here.

I’ve never used these folks before and they were dismissed by The Wirecutter, but if you really want an all-in-one solution you could look at [Lockly](https://lockly.com/products/lockly-vision-zeno-series). I personally use a Schlage Encode Plus and a Logitech Circle View doorbell. They’re great and I’ve had no issues. Having both natively in HomeKit means I get the intercom feature of the doorbell, and the HomeKey and guest management features of the lock without having to use separate apps.

I had the circle view doorbell and 8 cameras. The doorbell worked flawlessly. The cameras worked well at the very beginning. Eventually they would all go online/offline numerous times throughout the day and would not reconnect. I had to keep climbing up on ladders to power cycle them. Eventually plugged them all into smart plugs. It was absolutely not an issue with my network like most people will claim. These were the only devices that have ever had problems. Even Logitech support can’t fix the problem. They were constantly updating my camera firmware and kept sending me replacements. Nothing worked. It’s a crappy implementation of their hardware and not a software issue.   This went on for a couple of years and I just replaced all of them (doorbell and cameras) with POE cameras and connect everything through Scrypted. I haven’t had a single camera go offline since and they work great in HomeKit.

Hi, I noticed you said you installed a Logictech Circle Video Doorbell a few months ago and I am seeing lots of back and forth on whether it is any good or not. I bought a Logitech Circle Video doorbell and am hoping to at least give it a try. First thing I noticed when I hooked it up via USB cable to do the basic setup, the firmware is out of date and that it keeps dropping in and out of the network. So I thought I would try removing from Apple Home Kit and let it sit overnight to see if the firmware gets updated. Did you have any issues with the firmware on yours? Are you experiencing any problems with the device overall? Thanks! Take care... Bruce

It’s not what I’d consider great, but I’ve been using a Logitech Circle Doorbell for almost two years and it’s been fine, even in a hot humid environment. I’ve heard complaints of it overheating but I haven’t had that issue at all. That said, it’s never really in direct sun, so perhaps that’s the key. I’ve had to reboot it one time since I’ve had it. It almost never shows an unavailable. Downsides are: not great field of view, no local or alternate storage other than HKSV. No local streams available for use by other systems (I suppose this can be worked abound using Home Assistant/Scrypted). Not very good motion detection (this may be a result of it being on a patio, and also may be improved via Scrypted, not sure).

Our Logitech is trash. Disconnects every week and stays disconnected for months on end and nothing we do gets it to reconnect. We thought maybe we had a dud and bought another and same problem. The doorbell doesn't even work. It's ridiculous. You ask logitech for support and they tell you to contact apple. You go to apple and they tell you to go to logitech. It's not worth it.

Seems like Aqara might be the way to go. I have tried all HKSV doorbells except Aqara so far and each one had issues. I did not run into the overheating and restarting issue with Logitech but its mic volume was extremely low for my house. The best solution that has consistently worked for me was Amcrest on scrypted and now Reolink on scrypted

Seconded - I really like mine as well. However, if you live in a warm climate and it’s mounted east/west you’ll most likely face disconnection issues due to overheating. My old front door faced east and every morning between 9-10 it would shutoff.

Logi Doorbell supports up to 24V! When you say traditional, do you mean the mechanical chime? If yes, that’s what I have too. And yes, HomePods can be enabled as your chimes and Siri can announce names saved on your Photos libraries, using yours and others in your home (when recognized). You can even disable the mechanical chime if you want in the Home app settings. Here, use Logitech’s compatibility checker. https://setup.circleviewdoorbell.logi.com

I don’t like extra hubs/bridges either and went with the Logitech circle view doorbell — it has been great. But honestly, everyone’s experience will differ. As you’ve probably read, people trash Logitech all the time and have problems, while Eve devices have lots of problem posts too but are still recommended, so… the takeaway: all these smart home things are YMMV. So unfortunately, it’s just about picking one (from brands that are known) that has features you like and see if it works for your setup.

sorta yes. I have majority of my smarthome components (zwave) connected to an IQ Panel/Alarm.com system. Then I use homebridge running on a PC which "ports" everything over into homekit. I have my POE cameras recording with bluiris and those are connected to my homekit via homebridge as well. Some other devices like my Ikea hub/Phillips hue can all connect to Homekit natively so I have those as well. My doorbell is the Logitech Circle View Doorbell which has homekit natively but I can't really reccomend it. You can do all this (and even more) with HomeAssistant instead of homebridge.

I have two level bolts for the garage doors, but prefer the Schlage Encode Plus for the front door because of the HomeKey support. One thing to consider with the cameras is that HKSV doesn’t record 24/7 and won’t record without Internet access. I have some HKSV cameras, Circleview doorbell, but went with UniFi for my outdoor cameras and network. The video can still get to HomeKit via Homebridge et al, but you can have 24/7 storage on-site. I went Philips Hue for every bulb in the house. It mostly works, the RunLessWire switches aren’t the most reliable and I’ll probably swap some of them out for other smart switches.

Welcome to HomeKit :) While HomePod mini is admittedly inexpensive, especially on the informal market (e.g. eBay or OfferUp), it remains the most dated hardware you can get for a viable Apple Home Hub device. So while it will be able to handle the limited scope of your *current* interest in automation (e.g. couple of lights + thermostat), a HomePod mini will definitely lag with motion detection response times and event recording on the cameras and doorbell you are interested in setting up. As a result, I would recommend spending a bit more and aiming for an Apple TV 4K, which you can get on the informal market for anywhere between 100-120 for the Thread-capable 2021 model ([MXGY2LL/A](https://www.ebay.com/itm/176639343536?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=BybW4KZVSAG&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=rwshsh0oqkk&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY)), or around 150 for the newest Thread-capable model ([MN893LL/A](https://store.apple.com/xc/product/MN893LL/A)); the less expensive 64GB model is not worth buying (no Thread, no Ethernet). As for the rest of your new hardware, here are my recommendations: **A. Doorbell:** [Aqara Smart Video Doorbell G4](https://a.co/d/e4Fa1cn) or [Logitech Circle View Doorbell](https://a.co/d/gncyZEk).- While I personally favor the Logitech due to my positive experience with it, the Aqara has a very similar feature set, is generally well-regarded and is very well-priced; plus, it’s actually on sale on Amazon right now. **B. Cameras:** Eufycam [2C Pro](https://a.co/d/gRSlyT1) or [S3 Pro](https://a.co/d/3zRZOzh).- much like with doorbells, there really aren’t that many options for out-of-the-box HomeKit-native, outdoor cameras. And while Eufy has had its share of controversies, for outdoor cameras, I believe they remain the best offering in HomeKit; not only does their hub provide expandable local storage and allow you operate multiple cameras off of a single Wi-Fi connection, they also have built-in support for [external solar power](https://a.co/d/20GrqXK) and can thereby avoid the need to recharge or wire them. While the 2C Pros are older hardware, their performance remains good, are natively 2K for if/when HKSV upgrades to it, and can even be slightly upgraded in terms of response time by investing in Eufy’s new HomeBase 3. The S3s, on the other hand, are the very recent, and significantly more expensive, replacement of their former HomeKit flagships, the Eufycam 2 Pro, and unless you are looking for the latest tech (4K video, improved night vision and built-in solar panels), I don’t think the cost justifies the leap when you can get most of the feature set from the 2Cs and expand to solar and the new, faster hub without hitting the S3s price point; the fact is HKSV is still limited to 1080p, anyway. **C. Thermostat:** [Ecobee Smart Thermostat](https://www.amazon.com/stores/ecobee/ecobee/page/69CF3955-2ED3-4D79-81FD-806E84BA7165?ref_=cm_sw_r_apin_ast_store_RR7TDH6987ZAS44X1HNN&store_ref=bl_ast_dp_brandLogo_sto).- While the 2020 Nest Thermostat also looks great and now supports Matter, Ecobee remains my pick in this space: not only are they HomeKit native, they do a great job of keeping your house optimally cooled/heated wherever you’re actually located via their Smart Sensors, which are also exposed to HomeKit as motion/temperature sensors. Moreover, their Premium offering (expands Siri’s listening range if you own a HomePod, built-in air quality sensor and stainless steel exterior) can be obtained on the informal market for roughly [30USD more than the Nest](https://www.ebay.com/itm/146116483772?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=hq8dYujDT1C&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=rwshsh0oqkk&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY), while including one or two Smart Sensors depending on which version you manage to get your hands on. **D. Lights:** If you need smart light switches to automate ceiling lights, I recommend [Aqara](https://a.co/d/brMFSue) for non-dimming applications and [Lutron Caseta](https://a.co/d/g16ymYq) if you do need a dimmer. If you need a smart bulb to automate a lamp, I recommend [Nanoleaf](https://a.co/d/htnQMGg). Hope that helps! :)

I have both an Aqara G4 and a Logitech Circle Doorbell. The overall functionality of the two is the same but the Aqara is significantly cheaper. Cost aside, I actually prefer the Aqara \*because\* of the chime-repeater. The chimekit of my Logitech Circle doorbell shorted out so I'm probably going to need to get something like a Homepod Mini so I can actually hear when someone rings the doorbell (I just get a pop-up notification now)

Logitech Circle View Doorbell has worked for us pretty well for about three years now. We do have issues with it cutting the camera feed during the summer months due to heat issues, but it has been flawless otherwise. I do like how it's glass on the front as well, which has allowed it to avoid the dreaded "peeling" issue that plagues many other doorbells, like our old Nest Doorbell that basically had the plastic on the front warp & peel off over time. Anyhow, the Logitech one has never disconnected on us. If your doorbell isn't going to be in the shade, you might want to reconsider given the overheating issues. For us, it only cuts the feed during the summertime around 5PM to 6PM-ish, when the sun's position in the sky gives it a direct shot at the doorbell despite it being under a roof. Ambient temperatures don't seem to matter as much as direct sunlight does. Other features concerning recording, recognition, storage, etc., are all standardized via HomeKit Secure Video. It'll be limited compared to a something like Nest, but you'll be paying less since HomeKit SV can be had as part the Apple One family bundle. In this way, HSV is more of a perk you get rather than the main attraction.

I like Logitech Circle Doorbell. No third party app. Only direct with HomeKit. It will update firmware directly from HomeKit. Love it. I’ve had mine for almost two years and it’s pretty amazing! I also have indoor Logitech Circle View cameras and they’re great too! Also directly in HomeKit (and has firmware updates done via HomeKit). No third party app. The downside for indoor camera is the camera can’t reach the WiFi far… it sucked. But once I added mesh network in my home it’s been awesome! It’s also flexible when mounting to wall or ceiling. Can be upside down and such. That was a big win. I didn’t like Aqara doorbell because the finish feels cheap and requires third party app. The camera is horizontal. It looks grainy to me. Logitech doorbell is vertical view so you get the view from the floor to balcony ceiling. It’s amazing especially when you get a lot of packages you need to keep an eye on.

I had an issue with mine at first with going offline repeatedly like two days a week. I even confirmed it wasn’t temperature related as I can confirm it wasn’t shutting down or anything. Once I added mesh network and the 2nd router is much closer to the doorbell - it never went offline again for over a year already. The random shutdown thing is common, yes. Because of the temperature issue which makes sense. But what you explained doesn’t sound like shutting down issue or temperature issue. Sounds like a network issue. Your issue is different than others that you read up about. I don’t see people bringing up the issue about network inconsistency. Just overheating issue. I still bought it anyways because I’m in well shaded area so I knew the temperature wasn’t going to be a problem.

I have an Aqara G4 running on batteries and a logitech circle view doorbell, both in homekit. The logitech’s tall aspect ratio so i can see my steps and packages is desirable but the “night vision” is a bright light on the front of the unit. At first this bugged me cause it looks weird from the road in my initial opinion but i’ve got over it and really like it because of its reliability. It’s picky about the available power. there was ring installed before and i had to upgrade my transformer so this camera would be reliable. it has been solid since. The aqara’s battery life while cold is not great but night vision is actual night vision but i think events are missed because the contrast in real night vision isn’t great. It misses the tall aspect ratio but where it’s mounted the wide aspect ratio is actually a benefit. also when the batteries die you don’t get notified in homekit. i think it’s because the status is based on if the doorchime is plugged in or not. when the batteries die the video feed just spiny wheel loads forever. All considering it’s battery powered i am happy with it. Hope it gives some helpful experience and context. AMA

Another upvote for the Logitech Circle View. Have had one at my front door for four years with virtually no issues (I had some early problems where it occasionally disconnected every few weeks, but it’s been unfailingly reliable for well over two years, so I figure those was some bugs that got fixed in firmware updates). For me, one of the best parts is that it’s 100% HomeKit. There are no other apps to fuss with and the video stream goes nowhere else except iCloud. That differs from most other cameras which have their own cloud recording services that you have to turn off or block if you want to use HKSV exclusively. I have Eufys for my other outdoor cameras and the only way to prevent them from sending video to Anker’s servers is to block them at the router.

This is the answer. The other solutions require a fair bit of tinkering, which is lots of fun if you’re into that, but the Logitech just works. I also like the fact that it’s ONLY HomeKit. Your video doesn’t get streamed to any other services, and there isn’t even a Logitech app to configure it, so it’s one of the most private solutions available.

Logitech Circle View here. The most reliable and bulletproof device in my HomeKit setup, on par with my Lutron Caseta lighting. I've heard about the overheating problems and noticed it's been mentioned in this thread, but I guess that might have to do with climate or maybe just bad luck. I'm in Toronto, so it's not a super-hot climate (anything over 30C/86F is a really hot summer day), plus my front door doesn't get a lot of direct sunlight, so those thing might make a difference.

I’ve used the Logitech Circle Doorbell cam for several years and it’s been great. I make use of the motion zones, face recognition and integration with devices like my AppleTV modules. It does take a lot of late afternoon direct sun and one very hot day kicked it off for about an hour, but otherwise no real problems. Enough so that I added one of their Indoor/Outdoor Circle cams to the garden fence wall. I use an outdoor-rated USB-equipped outlet in the garden for power.

Govee seems like a good option, but they don't have a hub, so ymmv on stability and impact to your WiFi system. Hue is the gold standard, and you all have more options in the UK than we do in the US! So, Aqara hubs and devices work on Zigbee, which is the same communication standard Hue uses. However, that doesn't make them compatible. Yes, you may be able to add Hue lights to Aqara, but I don't think you'll be able to use them to their fullest. FWIW, Hue has an official Friends of Hue list which features third party devices designed to work with the Hue ecosystem. To be clear, sensors from any ecosystem exposed in HK can be used to control devices from other ecosystems via HK automation. Whether they'll work that great or not, that kind of depends. For example, IMO (and others may disagree), the Hue-HK interface isn't all that great. As such, I run all my Hue automations through Hue itself. I just just HK to turn Hue on/off and set specific scenes I set up in HK. Otherwise, Hue does all the heavy lifting, including using its own geofencing and automatons. My HomePod Mini is actually running as my hub now and doing a decent job of it. My Apple TV is too old to work as a hub and Matter router, so it's on the list of things to upgrade. As for other devices, I'm using the Logitech Circle View doorbell. It works well except for roughly 20 minutes in the morning in which it overheats and shuts off on sunny days (it's an east-facing door). For security, I use Abode, and it's been generally good. Not sure if that's available in the UK, though.

I prefer the Logitech Circle Doorbell. The looks of in are way more better then the Aqara G4. Its more esthetic in my opinion. The Aqara is a big thing! The Logitech works great for me. It works fast. Also the talking feature works fine. The only thing is that I have to reboot it once in a few months because it doesn’t rings my old wired-chime anymore. After a reboot it works fine. I can live with that because I also get an message on my Apple Watch.

I have replaced it with an Aqara G4 with no connection issues at all. Rock solid! When you look at different Reddit post, it seems like Logitech has issues with some batches and some are perfect.

I installed the logitech circle view because it reused the mechanical chime. You do need to make sure your bell transformer is up to snuff though. The wiring for the chime kit is relatively straight forward as well but it IS possible to short it out and break it easily if you leave some wires bare. I also have this issue where the chimekit stops ringing the mechanical doorbell after a few months. kinda annoying but simply removing the camera from the base and re-seating it will fix it. overall, after ~2-3 years of ownership, i've been satisfied with it.

I have had a Logitech Circle View Doorbell Camera for 3-½ yrs now. My disconnects were related to my wireless network hardware (eero) For the last year or so, with firmware updates on the door hardware that just happen in the background (I’m on 8.12.20), it’s been really solid. It is a little slow to load video when I am not on the same network, but it works well enough for me. I’ve given up trying to communicate with folks when they ring the doorbell. 50% of the time I don’t hear the doorbell ring. I am going to be switching to a different network hardware vendor which doesn’t support HomeKit. They have a great reputation with video recording, access, network experience which is sad because I really enjoy HomeKit. Until Apple comes out with its own hardware, HomeKit Secure Video is like a Microsoft Windows on OEMs hardware experience.

The Logitech Circle View Doorbell is great if you have any sort of entry way cover or awning over the door that can shield it from direct sunlight. I live in Alabama and do not have any of the overheating issues others describe. It is seemingly caused by direct sunlight. Additionally, I replaced the low voltage transformer to a 24V unit before doing the install. Sometimes a shoddy transformer causes flakiness with any smart doorbell wired over traditional low voltage wiring. Finally, proximity to wireless access point makes a big difference. The Circle View camera and doorbell that are generally in shade and close to one of my wireless APs, are incredibly reliable. The camera that takes more direct sun and has the longest, more occluded path to the APs is not reliable. I’d get the Logitech if your door location has an awning or other cover and the WiFi signal is not dodgy at the installation site.

The sole problem I have with my Circle View Doorbell is it occasionally stops engaging the traditional chime box. The only resolution is a power cycle. Fortunately the doorbell is on a relatively low consequence circuit, so I just cycle it by flipping the breaker off then back on. Lately, we just have the physical chime box off in the home app settings because it is right next to the nursery. The HomePod chimes are more targeted to our common work or leisure areas without blasting the chime box.

My Logitech circle view doorbell just died on me after 2 years. I decided not to purchase another one, I instead got a Reolink doorbell and hooked it up to HomeKit through scrypted. It was free and easy enough for me to do, but I understand not wanting to have to do that! If you’re in direct sunlight like I am, expect your Logitech to overheat and go offline often! Mine also delaminated pretty quickly. Good luck in your search!

Door lock: yes to the SEP (assuming a thread compatible home hub is close enough) Doorbell: more complicated. Cost might not be a factor but you’ll pay an annual subscription fee for the Nest. I recently moved from the Netatmo to the Logitech because I wanted HKSV. The Logitech has been working great and I’ve come to really appreciate the *color* night time video. I’m also in a new house with covered front entrance and have had the Logitech Circle with no overheating issues. However, the Home app has been less than stellar. Initially had trouble changing from Streaming to Streaming & Recording for the first few days. Now I am currently unable to add a family member to My Home. Obviously this is a Homekit issue and not a Logitech issue. However, the fact that there’s no Logitech Circle View app means that you have to depend on Homekit, which seems to have a number of issues.

This is the one I'm looking to replace. I have the wired version, and it is 10-12 feet away from my router, and it disconnects way too frequently to be reliable. Same for the the two non-doorbell wired outdoor Circles I have. They'll be connected for two months, and then randomly disconnect, or they'll connect for 5 minutes and disconnect--who knows--and reconnecting them is a crapshoot. It seems to be some kind of issue re: 2.4 and 5Ghz and HomeKit, but I have tried so many setups and none of them is a permanent solve for these cameras.

these cameras are 100% trash. i owned the circle view for about a month before returning it. unifi dashboard reported no network issues whatsoever but it continuously disconnected from homekit. many people report needing to change network settings for it to work consistently. just a heads up; if this is the case, it means the device is flawed and likely has a firmware issue of some kind! it shouldn’t require you to change network settings. my best solution is unifi protect with homebridge to pipe video into homekit

it can be a wifi issue, but usually isn’t in my experience. i owned the circle view for month and promptly returned. my network is unifi and i was able to confirm the camera had 100% wifi signal and zero connection drops, but it would still disconnect in homekit. this means its a problem downstream somewhere (not network related). since so many people seem to have no trouble with this camera i’m inclined to think they have a hardware problem that only surfaces on some units

I love my Logitech too. The response in HomeKit is amazing compared to my Eufy cameras. It loads the preview basically as soon as the app is opened and the Eufys take 20-30 seconds. My only complaint about the Logitech is that I can’t use the motion sensor to trigger the porch lights because the camera seems to always detect motion. Now I just leave the porch lights on at night anyway because it helps the camera image at night so much.

Congrats on the new house; please invest in your house network system. A robust WiFi will go a long way with HomeKit. Here is my setup for ideas: Abode Iota Gateway with: * 18 Mini window/door contact sensor * 3 Glass break sensor * 2 Keypads * 4 Multi Sensors (Occupancy, Temp, and Lux sensors) * 1 Motion Sensors * 1 Smoke Detector Listener * Built-in Camera Overall: Works solid in HomeKit; all accessories are exposed into HomeKit. They have a water leak sensor (also can be exposed into HomeKit) but are pricey, so I went with Aqara for that function. The Camera is exposed into HomeKit but is not HKSV. Lutron Caseta: * 31 Light Switches (vary from old style to new Diva style paddle switches) * 8 Fan Controllers * 4 Claro for the Exhaust fans in the bathrooms Overall: These are the gold standard of light switches and how HomeKit devices should work in HomeKit! I do have one light switch I haven’t converted buts it the attic portion of the garage; I will probably change once I’m done being lazy. Logitech Circle View Doorbell: I love mine it has been pretty solid since May of last year, only 2 times I didn't get instant video feeds. I believe one of them was a power issue. I was flipping breaker switches on/off, and the other time, I was not sure if it was the cold, but I had to unplug and replug, and it worked. I do have a Unifi G4 Pro Doorbell to replace so I can record 24/7 to my NVR. That is the only knock is no 24/7 recording. (Also upgrade your transformer to the max 24V 40VAC) Ecobee Premium Thermostat: Another gold standard of HomeKit devices. I have 3 of the room sensors that are also exposed to HomeKit. Locks: Schlage Encode Plus: Gives you looks, Schlage peace of mind for security, and HomeKey. I wish they had added a fingerprint reader; I would have paid extra for it. Connects with Thread and is fast and seamless. Level Bolts: I have two for my secondary doors and they have the updated matter firmware with Thread enabled. These are wicked fast now. Smoke Detectors: * 6 Safe and Sound First Alert * 4 Onelink Smoke/CO Detectors hardwire Overall: The Safe and Sound are solid and have no issues; I love I can have whole house audio as they function as a decent AirPlay 2 speaker. The Onelink, on the other hand, gave me hell the first couple of months. After several cleanings and air spraying, I think I solved the random false alarms. It's been over 6 months, and no issues......knock on wood. iSmartGate Pro: I have a 3-car garage with 2 doors; this can support up to 3 doors. I chose the iSmartgate because I wanted to use hardwire door sensors and not the wireless ones (I had issues with MyQ), and I wanted to hardwire the device into my network as this controls my garage, a vital security point that I want a reliable connection. This has been solid for the most part only one time I had an issue when I had to reboot it. Cameras: * Unifi G4 Pro (4k) x3 * Unifi G4 Dome (2k) x2 * Unifi Network Video Recorder 4x 6 Gigs Hard Drives installed Overall: I am using HomeBridge to expose these cameras to HomeKit. I am able to maintain the current resolution with 24/7 recording. HomeBridge transcodes my video feeds into HomeKit standards and I also get HKSV along with all the extra features. I do have the G4 Doorbell Pro but I need to run the POE/USB-C adapted so it can be hardwired into the network. All cameras are hardwired and powered over ethernet (POE). If you are already in the Unifi network ecosystem it only makes sense to use their cameras. TVs: * TCL QM8 75inch *Hisense U6 65inch * Vizio E55 55inch Overall: All show up in HomeKit with no issues, and both have limited controls as far as turning on and changing inputs. Eve Smart Plugs: These things are solid. I have 2 of the newer Thread and 3 of the old-school Bluetooth. In the Eve app, I get cost and wattage breakdown, which is nice. I have been downsizing to switch to the Eve wall outlet. So I only have two up and going. Eve wall outlet: I own two of these one in the family room mainly for Christmas tree duties (that outlet doesn’t get used at all) and the other in the Foyer area where I have some flower bulb lights in a vase that I like to turn on every now and then. Eve door sensor: I have the new thread version but HomeKit only I found for cheap and use that on my attic drop down door. It’s fast, as soon as I pull the door down m fees lights already on and turns off once I close it which is super convenient. Eve Weather Station: new thread version but not Matter version. Gives me temp, humidity, and barometric pressure. RainMachine Pro: I love mine. Its solid; no issues. I can hardwire with ethernet. The only downside is there are no more available and the company seems to be on life support. Aqara M3 Hub: I have been waiting to get aboard the Aqara train and I knew my patience would be rewarded. This is POE so just one wire to power and connect to my network. It has an IR blaster. I can now turn my fireplace on but saying Siri fireplace on. Plus it’s matter as well. Aqara Water leak sensors: I have 11 installed with 2 more I need to place for my dishwasher and my refrigerator. I have under all my sinks, my washer machine, my water heaters, and my HVAC secondary drain pan. Aqara Temp and humidity sensors: I have 5 of these one being the TVOC which gives me air quality as well. Mainly bathrooms, garage and attic. Presence Sensors: Aqara FP2 sensor: I have a total of 3 but only one up and running. It is WiFi and so far it’s been solid. I just need to move to a better location in the kitchen and it seems it’s better to have it lower as opposed to higher. Athom Presence Sensor: these are super cheap I believe 30 bucks but very limited. Great for smaller spaces like my laundry room. I will reposition as I think lower is better for all presence sensors. GE Cync under cabinet lights: I have 3 GE Cync under cabinet lights 24 in version that I have recently install but plan on get some of the puck version to place up top to give ambient lighting at top. These are matter and I am torn on these. The lights themselves are great and look vibrant. The issue I have is I can’t use the Cync app simultaneously with HomeKit. It’s one or the other and the plan was to pair a GE Cync wireless dimmer switch and pair it in the Cync app to have that manual control. Right now I have a FP2 Presence sensor to turn on when in the kitchen. I haven’t seen if firmware will be updated in the Home app.

I had a Logitech Circle View installed for about 18 months. The motion detection and video quality was great and I really liked the full integration with the Home app. Unfortunately I had ongoing issues with daily overheating for months on end and a really puzzling pattern where the doorbell would alternate between online for about 120 minutes and then offline for about 120 minutes - sometimes for 24 hours or more. The final straw was that about 12 months of exposure to the sun, the faceplate started to develop clouding and discoloration. I've since replaced it with an Ecobee Smart Doorbell which has been a step down that I can't recommend either.

That worked for me, a long time user of a Circle View that would always disconnect and take an age to get back online before dropping off again. I found a post on here that suggested changing the multicast rate to OFDM-12 on the 2.4 GHz band and the disconnects have stopped happening. I’m using a pair of Asus XT8’s in a mesh, the Wi-Fi settings have a ‘Professional’ tab and it’s in there. I have tried pretty much everything to get it to work in terms of changing the router settings and that so far seems to have fixed it. Hopefully your router has a similar setting that you can change. Good luck.
