The wired one doesn’t have a battery and won’t work with your home doorbell. You you need a power adapter or make sure you have the appropriate voltage running to your doorbell wires. Source: I’ve had both and current have the wired one and two chime pro’s. You also have to make sure the polarity is correct for the wired one or it won’t work at all. You may also need the included resistor for it to work

Out of the 5 that I have installed, none have worked with anyone’s door bell and they put it in their literature that it doesn’t work with a certain type. I’m glad it works with yours. I like the chimes bc I can customize the sounds to a ring, motion, etc

The wired pro requires constant power, so if your doorbell wiring doesn’t support that, you will have to get the non-wired version and take it off to charge it or get the hard wire kit and you can run a normal wall charger for it. Doorbell: https://amzn.to/3UPLbBV Hardwired kit: https://amzn.to/47kHICL I had to do that at my grandparents house bc I didn’t want them to have to remember to take it off the wall and charge it. You just have to keep someone from unplugging it from the wall socket 😂

Yeah I’m pissed that I’m gonna need to replace my doorbell and 3 cameras because of their lack of respect for privacy and giving access to our homes to fascists

yes i have one and i find it great, if you already have alexa devices in the house the ring doorbell works seamlessly with them, so when someone rings the doorbell, the alexa devices will notify you, saves getting an indoor bell chime. i have the battery one a few years and charge maybe 3 times a year. any decent doorbell camera is worth the small investment to be honest, doesnt have to be ring.

The Ring Battery Doorbell or Arlo battery doorbell work well with Home Assistant and expose button presses, unlike the Eufy C30 or C31.

Ring has one that is battery powered and perfect for apartments. You can buy this “case” for it so it doesn’t damage the door to hold it in place plus no one can just take it off either. Edit: it’s called an anti theft mount

I switched from Ring to Reolink. I have all video saved locally and I can pass it through Frigate for really good AI detection. It also integrates perfectly with Home Assistant. You can get their NVR to make this simple. My switch started because I had a package stolen and the Ring camera didn’t show it for some reason.

Powered wifi cams for doorbells plus POE. This is Reolink. For Ring my doorbells were battery powered plus a bunch of wifi cams.

Question on the Reolink camera for the front door- how good is the motion detection? I’ve been wanting to change out my battery Ring doorbell because it sucks in terms of motion detection.

>The wired only model equires specific power requirements, no? 16-24 volt , 30-40VA yes. but that's a good upgrade regardless >Will that trickle charge the battery of the ring door bell pro if I hook these wires up? if you have power going to the location, please DON'T get the battery version. you'll be much happier with the wired one.

>Why do you advice against the battery powered version? battery version is slower to react to motion. live view takes a little longer to start, the pro 2 has bigger video frame. you get shorter snapshot intervals with wired. you don't have to worry about the battery not charging when it gets cold.
