Ring - Battery Video Doorbell Plus

I bought a house with ring cameras on the exterior and as the door bell. I've never like them and this has pushed me over the edge. They are all coming out.

I’ve been using Ring with Homebridge for a couple years. It works great. I even have automations that turn on my lights when Ring disarms and stuff. It’s seamless.

Ring is the worst doorbell overpriced shit quality poor integration and poor build quality. Plus the subscription is so dumb. Wish ubiquity integrated better because it’s the best doorbell by leaps nd bounds

You’ll want a battery powered doorbell camera. Eufy, Wyze, Blink, etc. nearly all of them either the manufacturer or a third party make mounts for renters. IMHO stay away from ring (I just ditched mine after 5 years), they recently announced that they no longer require law enforcement to obtain a warrant for video from your doorbell.

The extra pixels of the plus basically account for the wider FOV

Minimal difference in image quality, you'll notice the extra fov for sure - but biggest reason to upgrade would be for replaceable batteries, if yours already has that then eh, unless you want to see your doormat id say not much point.

Think all of the ring doorbells do outside of there cheapest model ... Which is the model everyone buys cause great deal, then a year or two later realise the battery thing is a pain in the ass and end up buying an upgrade.

Yep, that's the upgrade I made and my only regret was buying the original one. .... I've now moved to an Eufy E340, the detection is massively superior it never goes off for no reason & while less FoV compared to the Plus the image quality appears better, but I find people ringing the doorbell my Alexa's etc are slower to respond. Overall though I liked my Ring Doorbell Plus and if youre happy in the Ring ecosystem it's a solid purchase and swapping batteries is way more convenient.

I have a battery powered Ring and a hardwired Logitech Doorbell. I can get a notification, open the app and speak to the person on Ring before I ever get the initial notification from Logitech/Homekit. I keep Logitech just for the additional camera angle. But I could new depend on a timely notification.

I have the ring WiFi version and it works great and instantly

I've a bettery powered ring door bell, it's dead handy

My standard Ring doorbell cam has only shutdown once due to cold this winter. I don't have to charge it for months, either.
