Had the same issues with my Gen 1 - upgraded to the newer model and moved my router closer, now it's solid. The old ones were pretty trash tbh

I really like mine, especially since I hardwired it with the transformer below. Compared to my old Ring doorbell the E340 has been amazing. Way better motion detection for humans, pets and vehicles, better video quality, no subscription, and many other features I use. I also have a HomeBase 3 which adds more motion detection options, faster connection to videos and cameras and all videos are stored in one location. I’ve had my eufy setup for awhile now and have no complaints other than the video playback glitch’s sometimes in the app when I try to fast forward or rewind. But if it’s an important video I’ll just download it to my phones photo library and it works perfectly and a great way to save it. 24V/40VA transformer https://a.co/d/hxs8tFM

Live view and talking through the doorbell is free afaik but you’ll have no way to look back at motion events. If all you care about is being able to talk to people then get the standard doorbell in either wired or battery whichever you prefer

I use Wyze brand. I have multiple cameras inside/outside and just hit the doorbell. Had the ring but after 10 years it died. Wyze is very easy to setup. The app is very easy to navigate, the picture quality is great. Tge Wyze has a bigger view then Ring on the doorbell camera.

Nest (Google) might be the biggest name in home cameras and video doorbells, but I don't think they offer any way to store video history locally. I think it all gets stored and accessed from the cloud. To meet all your requirements, I think you'll need something a step up from the consumer-grade stuff (Nest/Google and Ring, for example). But Nest or Ring can certainly handle most of what you want.

Amazon isn't much better over the last few years. But I've had no issues with my Nest camera, although I recently moved and forgot to take it with me. But all other Google devices have upgraded and stayed productive over the years (Home, a few Minis, Chromecast, etc). Not to mention my Pixel 2 Pro, which I finally had to replace only last year after some physical damage. Which Google devices have stopped working for you?

We are a Ring family as well. We have had our video doorbell (which wasn’t the most up to date version when we bough it) for 5+ years and we have not had my issues with it. The in house key pad has never worked correctly but we always just use our phones to turn on and off the alarm. The flood light was an easy install too so that was nice.

I canceled my subscription (to save events) because they raised the price to $50 a year for one camera. Before canceling, I was going to download an event I’d “starred” which is supposed to save the recording. That’s when I found out they’re only saved for 6 months. The event was from 7 months earlier. I saved very few recordings over the years, like 1 per year. Waste of money.

Battery life has been excellent, as long as you don’t make it stream video 24/7. I just have it capture when it detects specific motion or doorbell presses, and the batteries last for longer than my Ring’s did.
