Installed it in replacement of a ring 4, if regret were to kill... Absolute useless compared to the previous doorbell. I tried for some time answering the rings remotely just to finally give up and now I don't even bother, just hope the post man will try to leave stuff at my garden. To list a few issues I have with the e340 that I didn't have with the ring4 -Notification is either delayed or don't call my attention at all. -Once I try to click on the notification to answer a ring, it takes ages to load the live view, often I miss the delivery guy entirely (they are always in a hurry) -When I managed to catch them, either I can't hear them, or they can't hear me! Frustrating to the least -Poor angle of view -Motion sensor works whenever it feels -Sometimes the Internal wired chime doesn't ring with the doorbell Please note: Same network, same positioning, both wired, all this difference.

Mine only went off when it detected a package sitting on my porch

I have something like a ring doorbell but we don't pay to have it run. It only captures pictures when the doorbell is rung and we can open it up to look outside. That's it. I don't have any other smart appliances.

Ring has battery powered doorbells. So, you could mount to the brick without wiring. And if you want a chime inside your house in addition to the app notifications, they have that too. Chime plugs into a wall outlet inside and chimes when doorbell rings.

Ring do battery powered ones. No wiring needed. Just charge it occasionally while you're at home. I think they even do little solar panel accessory so you really shouldn't need to charge it often

Get the battery plus wired if you can. If not wired. Never go with battery only. It’s a pain.

I’ve been using Ring with Homebridge for a couple years. It works great. I even have automations that turn on my lights when Ring disarms and stuff. It’s seamless.
