Personally I’ve gone with the Plus to replace my original Pro, I don’t think the higher resolution and audio is worth the price difference.

I’ve ordered one, sick of my original Pro going off with rain frequently, especially during the night. I went with the new 2K Plus, can’t see its worth paying the difference between that and the Pro for higher resolution and clearer audio*. It’s coming tomorrow. I’m hoping it won’t be necessary to drill new holes in the brickwork, but I can’t see any information either way. *Edit: it would be worth it for PoE, something I can’t easily do with the location of my fibre and router.

Just go with the new ring doorbell plus wired 2nd gen unless you really need that 3 d motion detection and 4 k retinal video from the new ring doorbell pro wired 3rd gen up to you or buy the ring doorbell elite

For the simplest possible option: Ring Wired Plus for the doorbell + Amazon Echo 8 or Echo 11 for the doorbell screens (Avoid all cheaper doorbells with batteries if you can. They are unreliable.) You can have as many screens as you want. Once through initial up… it’s set and forget it.

Had the same issues with my Gen 1 - upgraded to the newer model and moved my router closer, now it's solid. The old ones were pretty trash tbh

Same here, and I can see my full driveway, yard, front porch with the old Gen 2 and I don't use a machanical bell and no need for head to toe as I already see pretty much everything with my Gen 2. I use my Amazon Echo devices for Ring notifications/speaker.

I am going down a rabbithole of video dorbells for my new place. I currently have a 2nd gen Ring dorbell and wish to upgrade it, preferably to something with onboard storage so I stop paying for the ring subscription, plus a battery mode as my new home has 1 foot thick stone walls so I don't wish to run cables outside. What drives me nuts is that ALL the dorbells I saw, from Tapo to Reolink, have a simple clip-on mounting to the plate on the wall. To me that is crazy, as anyone can just pick it up! My current ring old camera has 2 star screws which are hard to remove and at least create some friction for anyone wanting to steal it. Does anyone know of a product that satisfies both security and convenience? help plz <3

That's sort of my problem with the ring gen 2 I currently have. So mind numbingly slow to connect to a live event. But thank you for your input

Mine only went off when it detected a package sitting on my porch
