I bought a house with ring cameras on the exterior and as the door bell. I've never like them and this has pushed me over the edge. They are all coming out.
r/homeautomation • Amazon’s Ring now works with video surveillance company Flock ->I had the older Ring Pro wired. Technically I think you are right. The G4 Pro is 2MP 1600 x 1200, the old Ring Pro is HD 1920 x 1080, and the Ring current Pro they state as 1536p, which I guess is 3MP 2048 x 1536? I really can't tell the video difference between the G4 Pro and Ring Pro - they both seem good to me.
r/Ubiquiti • G4 Doorbell Pro is incredible ->Yeah, looking at photos now. That's not my favorite. And the fish-eye distortion isn't as bad as my current Ring Pro doorbell that I just bought but still bothersome. Might have to plan for a second outdoor camera or find an alternative. :/
r/HomeKit • What to replace Ring Doorbell Wired with ->I wouldn’t consider the pro overpriced since it’s one of the only models that doesn’t miss a ton of motion events, and doesn’t completely skip the first 5-10 seconds of motion before finally recording. Since it’s a security device, reliability is extremely important to me. So the pro is actually the only model I’d ever be willing to use.
r/Ring • What differences and are they worth it? ->I’ve been using Ring with Homebridge for a couple years. It works great. I even have automations that turn on my lights when Ring disarms and stuff. It’s seamless.
r/HomeKit • Advice with ecosystem including alarm system ->Hardwired ring survived two winters. I pay for the alarm so there’s a monthly cost for me.
r/Winnipeg • Doorbell Camera Recommendations? ->Ring is the worst doorbell overpriced shit quality poor integration and poor build quality. Plus the subscription is so dumb. Wish ubiquity integrated better because it’s the best doorbell by leaps nd bounds
r/homeautomation • Amazon’s Ring now works with video surveillance company Flock ->You’ll want a battery powered doorbell camera. Eufy, Wyze, Blink, etc. nearly all of them either the manufacturer or a third party make mounts for renters. IMHO stay away from ring (I just ditched mine after 5 years), they recently announced that they no longer require law enforcement to obtain a warrant for video from your doorbell.
r/homesecurity • Tips for buying a doorbell cam? ->I guess 15 seconds come from a battery-powered doorbell - those are unusably slow. My old Ring pro running on the transformer power responds instantly as well. FOV here really sucks as others have mentioned.
r/Ubiquiti • Running POE was 100% worth it - LOVE the new doorbell lite if only for the instant communication! 1 second from doorbell push to notification, another second to talking back. ->We have the wired video doorbell pro 2. Has the best picture quality of all our ring devices. But- We also have the mesh eero wifi system because of all our smart devices and layout of our home... If you only have one modem/router, I could definitely see this being a signal issue. We had to put one of the routers in the front of the house in order to give the doorbell, garage cam, and smart TV, smart hub, smart plug, Google mini....the list goes on...in the front room good signal....you definitely have to have devices within good reach and a decent wifi system. The battery devices are a pain too...Could you exchange yours for a wired model? I will say, the pro made a huge difference. That thing is crystal clear.
r/Ring • Ring doorbell sucks ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
