Paid 110 for mine from Ebay

Seconding this - i have a pro model that i bought in like 2021, still rocking it today without issue
Wired Doorbell Pro 2 no need for battery assuming you have an existing powered doorbell.
It comes with a module that will adapt your existing doorbell power; it will work fine.
If they thought about it, they didn't do anything. The Horizontal vs Vertical switch is lazy and isn't an either or. Doorbells like Ring Pro 2 have much better coverage horizontally and at least as good vertically.
Not happy with my Ring Pro WiFi connected to Apple Home via HA. I get half a screen of green garbley gook. Also have an older ring WiFi and a Reolink Poe set up the same way with no problems.
POE caught my attention. I currently have the pro 2. It's only 2 years old and gets the job done. Maybe if the price goes down a bit during black Friday, I'll get it and move the pro 2 to the back.
if you want to trigger your existing chime, get the pro 2
normally, mechanical chimes aren't designed to power a smart doorbell. you'll most likely have to change out your transformer. i would keep the existing chime. especially if you can afford the pro 2. it's a much better device.
>The wired only model equires specific power requirements, no? 16-24 volt , 30-40VA yes. but that's a good upgrade regardless >Will that trickle charge the battery of the ring door bell pro if I hook these wires up? if you have power going to the location, please DON'T get the battery version. you'll be much happier with the wired one.
>Why do you advice against the battery powered version? battery version is slower to react to motion. live view takes a little longer to start, the pro 2 has bigger video frame. you get shorter snapshot intervals with wired. you don't have to worry about the battery not charging when it gets cold.
I replaced a 2 year old Ring doorbell pro because the battery died completely this winter. Granted, it was -10 but it’s connected and should be on a trickle charge. Further, I was pretty disgusted with their business practices in dealing with the govt. They also had been pushing the “join the sidewalk” or whatever it is to crowd source snooping for a while-a turnoff. I need a doorbell for my door, not for policing the rest of the world. Paying a monthly fee for that was just too much. The 340 is roughly the same footprint as the ring was. We even managed to reuse the Ring mounting bracket, because the positioning of our Ring rendered the Eufy mounting bracket insufficient. Just added two new holes for the placement of Eufy’s screws and it was fine. So far Eufy 340 has been great. A little overly sensitive-even with my activity zone set properly, cars and school busses and even dog walkers on my sidewalk, all out of the activity zone, trigger it. I’m playing with sensitivity to see if that helps. It had been fully charged but took us a week of laying on the counter before we set aside the time to hook it up. So it was down to 88% two days ago when it was finally installed. Today it’s up to 90%, even with the far-too-frequent alerting. The dual camera feature is really nice. I can snag my deliveries quickly and if they’re from a company I don’t really want my spouse to know about, I can see it and grab it quicker. Just Amazon, they can sit out for a minute. (I am a serial crafter, and don’t need him to see/judge my investments.) The package camera is more than sufficient and takes in my whole front door step, which is pretty good size. I wish I could adjust it remotely because there is a small spot next to my door where I have a burrow of rabbits I’d like to see in the evenings. Alas. The extra wireless chime has been nice too. I hooked it up near our WiFi as instructed. It wasn’t too bad-just took a few minutes. No harder than any other wireless setup. Then I brought it upstairs outside the bedrooms, where we historically have trouble hearing the doorbell. The old doorbell that came with the house is oddly positioned and can be heard downstairs and in the basement, but not upstairs. Now, with both bells ringing, we hear it from anywhere in the house. I don’t use Alexa or Google Nest right now (maybe I’ll use them again in another few years. IYKYK). So I can’t speak to that functionality. I wish eufy still had bulbs and other small accessories I could use in their app for night time automation. I understand there is a workaround but I’m not going to mess with it. Their cameras are good in general. I used a couple outdoors last summer for a short term need. I’m eventually going to hook them back up for home security. The app seems fairly robust and the chime is apparently a “mini home base” as well, so we will see. All that is TBD. I also recently replaced an aging robot vac with a non Eufy product so again, no app functionality for that item. Oh well. Love having not to pay monthly monitoring for the doorbell though. That alone was worth it IMO.
