Wyze has been flawless for me and latest model can do either wired or wireless. And dual person / package cameras. [Wyze Duo](https://www.wyze.com/products/wyze-duo-cam-doorbell)Local SD and cloud options.

I think Wyze is love or hate for people on this sub.. but I have a bunch of their cameras, including the Doorbell Duo, because I think they have a great price-to-quality ratio. There is an optional subscription that gives extra features, but they work just fine without it.

Doorbell works perfectly fine with Frigate. I've had mine going for 2+ years. There were some reolink issues historically (and I've had some issues with my Duo 2) but the doorbell is not an issue in Frigate or BI.

r/homeassistantThinking about the Reolink PoE Doorbell — Thoughts?

I had a Wyze Duo--really liked it. Was wifi and battery lasted about two months on average. I really liked it, since one camera pointed down and I could see all over in front of my door for packages. I LOVE Reolink, and this PoE never having to charge it, but i miss the dual cams. I can see a lot of in front of door, but not the full depth. Decent camera, integrated super easy. I use Synology's Surveillance Station and it records the video on all the Reolinks. I don't buy any of Reolink's advanced stuff or anything.

I have only had it for 6 months or so. Didn't have doorbell camera before this one. No need to reset or anything funky. But yours is 3-4 yearsold maybe that's all they are good for these days. Everything is disposable. It has that dual camera which is great as one points down to show the packages and one points out to see who is there or walking up

My TL;DR: Given a choice between a Wyze anything and a Nest I would go with Google. Longer: Used a Nest doorbell and external cam for seven years. Sold my home. Bought a new one that already had a Wyze smart lock and Doorbell cam with remote doorbell. I kept the smart door lock and upgraded to the current Wyze dual camera door cam. I also subscribed to the Wyze service. While the hardware is lovely, the software from Wyze is terrible. The doorbell after being in market for some time doesn’t tell with th smart lock. It routinely misses “events” it has no 24x7 recording feature so you can’t just scroll back in the timeline to missed events. The doorbell chimes are all mid and you can’t upload or use your own or program it. The integration with smart home stuff both HomeKit and Google home are terrible in that they frequently fail to connect. Finally it has lost connectivity when I go to check it at least once a month th over the past six months. The Wyze is a waste of money and effort. The Google stuff may not be ideal, but it at least always worked as expected and even without paying for the service you still had a few hours of content to line you could scroll back to. Which was really necessary because it n ver failed to pick up people or events.

r/homeassistantBest Doorbell Camera for the Money in 2026?

Multiple angles is definitely the way to go. We have a Wyze cam that covers the driveway walking up to the house, a Wyze doorbell duo, and a porch camera pointed out a window that shows anything sitting on the porch / stairs. Compaint #1 on the Wyze doorbells is the huge amount of lag from the time that someone presses the doorbell to when you can see who's at the door in the app. We had similar issues with our previous doorbell pro cam from them. Complaint #2 is we haven't found any good way to "hang up" the attempted call if someone opens the door. Once I've opened the door, I don't need the request for a VOIP call to keep ringing on my phone.

I'm currently running it with no subscription it wouldn't works it picks up people, vehicle, and pets great and stores them for 30 days. But, when it doesn't work it's normally because it needs to be reset not because it's not picking anything up. I'm dumping it as soon as I find an alternative.

I think that's what I have now. Every couple of days it stops picking stuff up and have to go into the software and then click on "reset" and then it starts working again.

r/RingDoes it make sense to have a Ring Doorbell without subscription?

Blink and Wyze have sd cards to record events. I’ve tried Wyze and Blink and prefer Ring with $9.99 subscription.
