Wyze - [https://www.wyze.com/collections/video-doorbells](https://www.wyze.com/collections/video-doorbells) Love their cameras. Plus a lot of features are free unlike most other camera companies out there.

Avoid Nest. Ring works, but I’ve also had a good experience with Wyze products. But any of these products depend on Internet connections to a Cloud server. You can increase reliability and lower costs with IP cameras and a small NVR.

I second this and will add that all of their cameras are great. Went from foscam to Nest to Wyze and now I've found peace with tpLink/Tapo.

I have a Wyze doorbell. You need a working internet to notify the cell phone, but the ring on the physical chime is done locally and doesn't go over the internet.

Well...there's few doorbell cams that have local storage, we use a Wyze which will record to an SD card and we just access the footage from the app. It works well though lots of people have issues with Wyze for privacy issues. We have a couple solar outdoor cameras, again they record to an SD card and you access the footage from an app... They all do about the same thing to be honest. You're going to be hard pressed on free + AI integration, that's how the companies continue to make money is by charging you for extra services, cloud storage and AI are usually two of those things. I have heard very good things about the Eufy ecosystem, they have a dedicated base unit they record to, so you don't actually need to worry about cloud, and if a camera breaks or is lost/stolen, the footage isn't lost with the camera. They also have solar cameras and a door bell so no batteries. I have not tried them though as I'm not really needing to upgrade from what we have at the moment since it all works (well enough)

The doorbell is junk. I just got rid of mine and got a wyze one that never disconnects has great resolution and I don’t have to pay for a service because I put a memory card in it so I can see events. People can never hear me when I talk through the doorbell and the video would always disconnect so I gave up.
