Bose - Smart Soundbar 900

If dialogue is your main issue, a soundbar alone is already a big upgrade over TV speakers. Focus on models with strong voice clarity rather than power. You do not need a subwoofer right away. Soundbars like Sonos Arc, Bose Smart Soundbar 900, and Sony HT A5000 sound good on their own and let you add a sub later if needed. Dolby Atmos is nice but not essential in most apartments. Clear dialogue makes the biggest difference. For compact and affordable options, Polk MagniFi Mini AX is solid. If you want a premium buy once option, Sonos Arc or Bose 900 are safe choices most people stay happy with.

To be honest, I tried Sonos and the soundstage was way better in Bose. AdaptIQ configuration takes the sound experience to a different level!

I have the 900 with the bass 700, if I did it again I would do an actual 5.1. Hard to mimic the separation.

Bose soundbar 900 with my LG B4. Sound quality is great, but I frequently experience random audio dropouts. Unsure if it’s my soundbar or that I am running pass through all through my Xbox which is pretty notorious for having difficulties with full Dolby Atmos audio pass through Overall I’m at an 8 out of 10. Would be a 10 out of 10 but the audio dropping is super frustrating, especially since these devices are so expensive. I wish it would always just work!

BOSE 900- + BOSE 500 Sub, It's awesome

The Arc Ultra outperformed both the Bose Soundbar 900 and the latest Smart Ultra Soundbar on RTINGS too. As someone who just upgraded from the 900 to the Arc Ultra I can tell you the rear soundstage with era300s is 1000% better than the Bose setup.

Bose sells their top line refurbished 900 or IQ soundbars under that price point. Comes like new, 90 day no questions return policy, and full warranty. The bose can further run any external subwoofer, so you can get the bar and an external sub for under $700. Auto tunes to the room (including the sub) and sounds great on all content including music…no need to fiddle with different modes as content changes. Absolutely blows away the Samsung Q990, but is more expensive than $700 if you want to add the rears. I’ll upgrade to the rears at some point, but it sounds amazing with room filling effects even without them.

Sonos…. Once setup you really dont need to use the app as they also work great with airplay. Can grow with you over time. Scamsung is a budget bar with high pricetag, does NOT sound good on music IMO…. Its loud but has little presence/sparkle in the tuning. As others mentioned its got great FX for movies…but when a soundtrack kicks in you immediately notice how flat the music is. Sub also weak for larger rooms, cant upgrade. Been running the Bose 900/IQ bar on my LG OLED, very happy with it and it sounds GREAT on music. They also have surround cubes you could add down the road, many people complain the power brick is separate from the speaker…..however I like the small footprint this provides.

i had both and the 900 is far superior to the 600, especially with the bass module. Get the 900 or Ultra

Is it really better than Bose 900 or Sonos? I have Bose 900 with sub and surround and it's phenomenal. Need to setup another room.

I have Bose 900 with surround and sub. Ridiculously good for movies and gaming. Got sub and surround refurbished under 500 and bar for 800.

I still think the Bose soundbar 900 is one of the best out there, pair it with the 700 sub and rear speakers it’s a powerhouse.
