Has anyone heard these 2 systems side by side or had the chance to compare them in depth? I don’t remember the last time I’ve listened to the Theatre Quad or HTA9, and I’ve just had a demo with freedom to play whatever content I wanted. And this feels like blasphemy because I loved the Sony’s, and I can’t believe I’m saying, it because Hisense has had shit audio systems the entire time I’ve been alive, but I was actually impressed with what I heard for the price. It obviously wasn’t comparable to a super high end soundbar, like an Ambeo Max, or a Bose or Sonos setup, but it wasn’t shit? For $995AU I can think of a few other soundbars which sound worse. Can’t believe it.

I managed to get some hands on a pre production unit as I work in the industry, the sub performance was really good, but not blow me away excellent. Which to be fair, the whole system costs less than the matching subwoofer for the HTA9 so I felt like I couldn’t be too picky. I was pleasantly surprised by the phantom centre channel effect, was actually pretty convincing!

I am feeling the same about the sub. The lowest frequency of 40 Hz is not low enough. I have used Sonos sub mini in the past that went till 25 Hz which was way too low so compared to that this one seems a little lacking. Otherwise surround effect is just amazing and so is the phantom center channel clarity. BTW, are you using it with a Hisense TV/projector?

I've had mine for a week now and it's pretty amazing. The sub is way weaker than I was hoping. Maybe it would be better with one of the new Hisense TV's that can do the room correction. Other than that, it's pretty damn solid.

I am but it's one from a couple years ago. No hi-concerto, room correction, or anything else the new ones offer. And yeah, I'm comparing the sub to a 12in Klipsch I have in another room. For what it is it's alright. I do wish it would register a little lower. The rest is pretty amazing though. For half the cost of the Sony, it's well worth it.
