Hisense u5120g soundbar / 7.1.2 surround - Amazing value for the money

Yes to me the rear speakers produce enough sound. I am a musician and care about sound quality. These are not very expensive hi-fi, but surprisingly good, and way better than the tv speakers (which are also ok). Good subwoofer too, just don't put up against a wall, or it will rumble too much. That advice is for alle subwoofers

We purchased a 75” Hisense U8 in later 2024 and it’s surprised the hell out of me. It was an NYT Wirecutter top pick for 2024. PQ is impressive and it has an impressive dynamic range— really dark shadows to eye-searing brights. We paired it with the Hisense Dolby Atmos 5.1 soundbar (includes subwoofer and two rear speakers) and that system has also astonished me with how good it is. Previously we had a structured wire 7.1 Yamaha speaker system run by a Sony receiver and I was worried that a mere “soundbar” would not satisfy.

maybe they've changed but i had the older cheap hisense 5.1.2 soundbar and it had noticeable static in the rears. i returned it for another one and exact same issue. from some comments online every single one had this, a design flaw. yet on user reviews they were highly rated. really have no idea i'm hardly an audiophile, the farthest from it. but i guess noone noticed that static. unbelievable. i also noticed, again not audiohpile so i cant say why, but music just didn't sound good on the hisense, beyond that static flaw. something just wrong. i've read some comments echoing that too. that hisense isn't good for music. so overall i think stick to the brands that know audio which for me are just Samsung, vizio (owned several vizio), and jbl. and i'm quite sure sonos lol, sony etc. maybe the new hisense are better but i dont trust them. they're also suspiciously cheap, like their 5.1.4 model goes for 399. now thats not fair by me because i love cheap chinese tv's like hisense and tcl that have served me well and give me the specs of a sony or Samsung that costs twice as much. but yeah for me i dont trust hisense soundbars after my experience. i'd at least make sure theres a way to return it if you dont like it.

I agree with you that it's better if the TV and soundbar are from the same manufacturer - that's why I ordered this Hisense 5.1.2 Atmos system for 239€... I hope it works well.

i technically had a model down (whatever Hisense’s 5.1.2 is called) but moreso i’m just saying the actual audio fidelity itself from pretty much any of LG’s atmos bars will absolutely steamroll the quality of the Hisense
