I have the jbl 5.1 sound bar. I was so impressed I bought 2 more so I have 3 total in my house. Now here’s the catch: I paid 200-250$ for each one vs the 5-600 they normally sell for. I don’t think it’s worth that much. The replacement for the 5.1 is the jbl 500, same basic design newer speaker packaging which looks better and you can find it factory refurbished for the 300$ range. I got this sound bar because the sound stream technology that reflects off the walls to give you a 5.1 experience actually works really well. Is it ever going to replace a real Atmos system? No. I’m in the process of selling my house that had an in ceiling 5.2 system, so using the network I’d play music on the main denon receiver and then the 3 sound bars… 2 in a bedroom, one of them in the loft upstairs and the whole entire house was filled with rich, clear sounding music So when I downsized, I obviously couldn’t take my inceiling system with me but for a smaller room/apartment like I live in right now that JBL sound bar… it’s amazing.

Ya I demoed The JBL 700 and 1300x and they were both excellent for music as well as movies. Bought the 700. I also listened to the Yamaha favorite, good for movies but fell down on music. My opinion.

I got the JBL and it sounds pretty good, I went down from a 5.2.2 to this and still pretty impressed, the bass is really good.

The JBL Bars with detachable wireless speakers and subwoofer are sick.

It’s supposed to be, but I don’t think it produces enough love and bass, it’s also much smaller than the 990D’s sub. At loud volumes it’s fine, but I’m not always up for listening to music or movies at max. I have a JBL Bar 700 and the bass on that is MUCH better

A Samsung would be better than a TCL, even the Q800F or D. Sony is nice, but not worth the price. I recently had a theatre bar 8 and sw5 sub for about 1700, not worth it for what I got. LG is pretty cost effective, but their bass has always been lack luster. So if bass is your main priority i would get a JBL, like the 700 or 1000

I did, but returned it. One (non-incentivized) review of the Q75H described the sound as muddled which TCL compensates by playing louder. This is true of the Q65H as well. TCL loves to pay people for 5 star reviews. I bought a JBL BAR 700.

Okay. So I literally just purchased this exact same soundbar (JBL 5.1) from Best Buy for that price. I have only had it for a few days. But I can say this thing is nice. I upgraded from a 2.1 JBL soundbar and immediately noticed the increased clarity from the additional speakers. Also, I would say it’s probably going to be the best sound bar you could get for $250. At $600, it is a different discussion. But since I paid $280 out the door, I consider that a stellar price for this sound bar. P.S. For what it’s worth to anyone. The 10” subwoofer has enough bass to vibrate my chest when I sit on my couch about 10’ away. So, it’s plenty loud enough for music.

For sure the JBL. I had it and absolutely loved it until I upgraded to the Sonos arc. Not to mention the deal on that JBL, you can’t beat it. The 10 inch sub really gets down too. Plus Hisense is not great quality imo

I had the Bar 5.1 w/ detachable surrounds years ago and it was a great sounding one...until the batteries died in the surrounds and I had to ditch the whole thing. I watched a video on YouTube on how to change the batteries, but it required disassembling the whole speaker so I gave up. It took about 4 years for the batteries to get really bad in the surrounds. I switched to micro USB charging for a bit but there was a weird hissing sound in the surrounds when plugged in. Through the bar 5.1 out and got the Q990D for living room, and Sonos Arc Ultra for my small but cozy man cave.
