JBL Bar 9.1 is cute but no one metions that those rears are rechargable and have to be attached to the soundbar to charge up. So you will always be deataching them, then battery gets low, then reataching them to recharge and so on.... and that just seems like a hassle over time.

I can only speak in jbl, as I'm on my second one. My first one was the 9.1, got at best buy for a great price it was an open box. Definitely look at Amazon for used or even best buy.

The only person that has to like your sound system is you. I have a JBL 9.1 sound bar system.. I think it sounds fantastic and it has impressed everyone that's come over. You're very unlikely to have an audiophile come over and start chewing you out. You got a very nice sound system. The truth is you would have to shell out a decent amount of cash for full sized speakers and put some holes in your ceiling to get appreciably better

Had lots of disappointments with it although it sounds good. Rears will cut in and out constantly. Bar will fail to wake up unless unplugged and replaced from the wall. And music played through hdmi has lots of sound processing and sounds terrible. Have to listen to music only thru airplay. Out of all the issues. The failure to wake up from sleep is the deal breaker for me. Maybe mine was a dud tho

A couple of microusb cables and charging bricks solve that little problem. My satellite speakers on my Bar 9.1 have been plugged in since I set it up.

JBL 9.1 or similar with detachable rear speakers. We just put them on the top of couch when we wanted to use them

Not been my experience with a Bose soundtouch 300 and a jbl bar 9.1. I would assume those two are worth a heck?

appreciate it! As far as budget, I guess 1800 or so because im leaning towards the sonos ultra arc and their new bass. that would cost me roughly 1800 plus tax. Ive had the smaller Bose sound bars and right now have the Bose Soundtouch 300. At one time I had the JBL 9.1 BAR that sounded really well outside of dialogue in a movie. On a different thread, Im being recommended a KEF 3.1 system with a receiver but man Im just not sure what she is gonna say, lol. Maybe i need to clarify with her, because i believe what she said was "Im not having speakers all over the living room". 3.1 system would be just on one wall, HA!

Agreed. It's also something to keep in mind that some soundbars/receivers prefer the "Auto" setting compared to passthrough on LG TV's. This is something I've noticed coming from my JBL 9.1 to my Samsung Q990C. The Samsung seems to work better in auto mode with my LG C2 although the JBL was better with passthrough.

I just purchased a Samsung Q990D for $1,060 after tax. Got it for an incredible deal ($1,500 for Black Friday + additional 30% off for First Responder discount) Before that I had a JBL Bar 9.1, it was good but the center channel would cut in and out at an unacceptable rate. I paid $900 for it on Greentoe Before that I had a Vizio V51-H6, it was surprisingly good for the price. Got it for $140 at Costco OP, I would stick with well known brands. Look at Rtings.com, they have incredible reviews and recommendations.

I've got the JBL Bar 1000, and I am very happy with it. Down firing sub that gives plenty of bass and detachable rear speakers. You can also get over models in the JBL bar range for cheaper, including the bar 9.1, which is very similar to the 1000 but just an older model There isn't that much out there review wise as the Samsungs seem to be the most popular. But, I tested the JBL and loved it for the sub and the detachable, rechargeable rear speakers in an awkward space I have where I can't really have a big speaker setup and permanent rear speakers.

Maybe not the best since I'm not rich and haven't tried a bunch, but I got my JBL Bar 9.1 open box at Best Buy and it has been excellent. I have very picky ears and recognize a soundbar is a soundbar, but after placing the sub and rears properly and turning the sub to 2 I love it and think it sounds great with all kinds of content (music, movies, games). Had it a couple years now and it's been great!

No, its a huge step up from built in tv speakers though, but you get the full potential from a prober audio setup. Also older films on 4K might just be in mono or stereo and dont require an Atmos setup. I have the JBL Bar 9.1 that kicks enough ass for me to be satisfied.

Ya i like my 9.2.4 eArc 2 10” subs and 4 surrounds blends nice in a open concept kinda area. It was a almost 1800$ back when i got it for 200$ off an older couple a subwoofer plate fried so subs and surrounds didn’t work i called Nakamich ended up sending me 2 new plates for me to swap out after trying a couple things first. They didn’t chsrge me a dime just asked if it worked if i would send mine back w/shipping label they had sent so they could see what happened. You cant get much better customer care then that and they knew I bought it used. Also have a Vizio Mseries 5.1.2 and a jbl 9.1 i do like there 10” sub im using it as a blutooth speaker in my lil garage part of my basement.

JBLs 9.1 soundbar is a really great soundbar and often [can be found for $600-700](https://www.jbl.com/soundbars/JBL+BAR+9.1+TWS-.html). It’s a little older as far as tech goes, but still supports a lot of things including AirPlay, Chromecast, Dolby Atmos and DTSX. I had one for a couple years and it was great. Its bass was ridiculous which considering the size of the sub made sense. It also has two HDMI-IN inputs so you can use it as a mini hub of sorts. Another high point is its truly wireless surround sound speakers. That means no wires or additional power source needed for the rear speakers. They can be charged by attaching them to the main bar or portable battery pack if you don’t want to do that. Definitely recommend it if you want a super easy setup.

Here’s a polished version: I think you did a good job, it looks great. As for the soundbar, my living room isn’t very large. I use a JBL 9.1 that I got at a great price a couple of years ago. Even though it’s an older system, it delivers excellent performance, especially for music. In the bedroom, I have a Sonos ARC which also sounds amazing. However, the best way to decide is to listen to them in person.

I got the JBL 9.1 and it’s awesome. I had the Sonos beam with two Sonos ones as rears. The JBL I have am has wireless surrounds too that with the sub is perfect for movies and music

Samsung 11.1.4 or jbl 9.1.4 you can get it under 65k, you just need to keep searching few days online. Their prices are discounted on some days. Check flipkart, amazon, croma and samsung corporate website (you will need some IT company's email to login)  Never buy samsung product unless you get really good price in India as they are always over priced and sale prices bring them down to normal

I have heard that JBL has better dialog clarity and then the convinience of wireless (battery powered) rear speakers. Usually samsung are rated higher in sound quality and atmos. You could get better comparison from ratings.com https://www.rtings.com/soundbar/tools/table I have a q950a and i am happy with it.  Generational differences in soundbars really minor in terms of sound quality, that is what I understood from those reviews. So I would recommend you to get last gen at a deal price if you don't want latest features like hdmi 2.1 pass through.

I have the JBL 9.1 soundbar, got it with my TV a few years ago. Does it sound as good as the 5.1 set up I had for years but never upgraded it? No it doesn’t. I had a Denon receiver and Poik Audio all around, tower speakers up front, large center , and 2 nice sized rears. You know what the sound bar does have that n my 5.1 doesn’t? It doesnt have wires running awkwardly thru the house. It doesn’t have speakers taking up floor space. Do I miss it? Sometimes. Does my soundbar sound 100000x better than the basic TV speakers? Yes. I watch movies and game, and I enjoy the soundbar.

JBL Bar 9.1 has surround speakers that connect to the soundbar wirelessly and can be moved around where you see fit, currently on sale for just under $600 - [see here](https://a.co/d/5qCm8AY) It’s also [highly reviewed by Rtings](https://www.rtings.com/soundbar/reviews/jbl/bar-9-1)

Eh yes and no, there are differences the higher you go (for the most part). I think you’ll be surprised at what soundbars can offer now. But to be pretty cheap but still get all of the “good stuff” the jbl 9.1 is $700 and its a 5.1.4 system. It’s a fair priced system for what it offers. You can also get a single bar solution and go with the AMBEO plus which is discounted to $940 rn on amazon. Sennheiser has a great sound profile and is considered the best quality among other bars. Sennheiser does a fab job. If you want to go cheaper, the vizio elevate 5.1.2 system is under $500. Even cheaper, the vizio v-series which is $200 on amazon.

I bought the JBL 9.1 with the detachable ends. $569 down from $1100. I've watched a ton of videos and read up on [rtings.com](http://rtings.com) about the bestest soundbars. It's a bit maddening. They all are rather good but none that are perfect. They all have some unique feature that the others dont. Fingers crossed. JBL 9.1. Back in October Prime Sale - I had a few soundbars I put on a list. That was the one that went on sale. It's fantastic. The dome of sound! This is the system with the detachable speakers that can be used as rears. the purists will preach about dedicated stereo systems. I honestly cant tell the difference between Tidal and Spotify. Obsessing over which soundbar to get when sometimes doing a coin toss is the best option. The JBL 9.1 is worlds better than the $150 Sony low budget soundbar I had. As for 'which is better.' There is a point where we are all under the 'placebo effect' and acting like we can tell the difference between dog whistles.
