r/Soundbars • Harman Kardon’s new Dolby Atmos soundbar is like a Sonos Arc Ultra, but with all the features Sonos left out ->How are you liking it for just normal TV watching? Yeah that’s what I’m hoping for as well. Only seen some sponsored shorts posted. Lol I had the JBL 9.1 and loved it but had a crackling sound. Had to start looking and got the Q990C and sounds amazing but I do want a normal looking living space area where the rear speakers aren’t always out. I found a way to make discrete but still. How are you liking the design and color? Picture wise looks shiny sometimes. Weird question but what are your thoughts on the sub feet?
r/Soundbars • JBL Bar 1000MK2 ->The “measurement” I use when I get a soundbar is how it sounds for everything I watch, listen and play. A lot of soundbars excel in one but not as great as the other. After it’s the sound quality and bubble it creates. Sonos excel at all of those. Sony with their soundbars that I’ve personally listen to were great at times and others just sounded very off. I did have a JBL 9.1 and loved it after which I had a Q990C. I personally think the tech Sonos uses produces the most cinematic sound where I’m glued to the content and not listening to the sound. This does not mean the other options are bad and at the end of the day it’s going to come down to the sound you like. But I’d say Sonos is one of the best soundbars and system you can get.
r/Soundbars • Why are the sonos soundbars so higher priced? ->The only person that has to like your sound system is you. I have a JBL 9.1 sound bar system.. I think it sounds fantastic and it has impressed everyone that's come over. You're very unlikely to have an audiophile come over and start chewing you out. You got a very nice sound system. The truth is you would have to shell out a decent amount of cash for full sized speakers and put some holes in your ceiling to get appreciably better
r/4kbluray • Are soundbar setups really that bad with 4K discs? ->I own the 9.1 and have for over a year now. It sounds great and I have the sub set up behind my couch and it does the job. The sound from the bar is decent and it does a good job of sending the sound around but I find the detachable surround speakers to be a slight annoyance. You have to remember to put them back each day or they will die, so unless I'm watching an epic movie or some mind-melting music I leave them attached. It is nice to be able to position them in any formation though. My friend has had 2 of the Q series and they are superior quality but also twice as expensive. In my bedroom I am using the LG S60TR 5.1 system and it might be the room acoustics but it sounds better to me. It has the wireless sub like the JBL but also has 2 wireless satellite surround speakers as well. I run the sound bar under the TV, the sub along one wall, and the surrounds are on each side of the bed. These are an amazing amount of sound for the money ($250 USD) and in most practical applications the 5.1 is more than sufficient.
r/Soundbars • Any review of the JBL Bar 820? Is this a good deal? ->Really its personal needs. I looked into it as my kitchen tv needed a SB so I thought I'd move the JBL9.1 in there and buy a HT setup. But at the time, I wasn't dissatisfied with the JBL when watching movies on the G3. Having the flip the smart mode off every time, and the less than excellent speech clarity isnt ideal. But its not that bad Opportunity cost. I wanted to buy a nice car and start saving for a motorbike. Which trumped my desire for a HT.
r/Soundbars • Are high-end soundbars like the Samsung Q990D really that far behind a proper home theater? ->You’re getting downvoted because Reddit gonna Reddit, but you’re right. I’ve had everything from that cheap Vizio (it’s crap don’t buy it, though I’m sure it’s better than Amazon’s) to a JBL 9.1 and a Nakamichi. The next time I clearly hear a height effect will be the first time. I thought I did hear it, but then I tested myself with a blind a/b, and I failed. So that was confirmation bias. Everyone has different hearing. So maybe it’s me. Either way, I’m saving for a full system with receiver and heights installed in the ceiling.
r/Soundbars • So how is this a thing? ->JBL 9.1 or similar with detachable rear speakers. We just put them on the top of couch when we wanted to use them
r/Soundbars • Best Soundbar without rear speakers? ->Not been my experience with a Bose soundtouch 300 and a jbl bar 9.1. I would assume those two are worth a heck?
r/Soundbars • Soundbar with dedicated center channel? ->appreciate it! As far as budget, I guess 1800 or so because im leaning towards the sonos ultra arc and their new bass. that would cost me roughly 1800 plus tax. Ive had the smaller Bose sound bars and right now have the Bose Soundtouch 300. At one time I had the JBL 9.1 BAR that sounded really well outside of dialogue in a movie. On a different thread, Im being recommended a KEF 3.1 system with a receiver but man Im just not sure what she is gonna say, lol. Maybe i need to clarify with her, because i believe what she said was "Im not having speakers all over the living room". 3.1 system would be just on one wall, HA!
r/Soundbars • Soundbar with dedicated center channel? ->A soundbar for less than 300 euro will be a downgrade on your current setup tbh, it won't include surrounds and won't have a sub. I'm also.curious as to how you connected the Logitech setup.to your tv, don't they have a Few different connectors? Toslink?
r/Soundbars • Soundbar alternatives to replace my Logitech Z906 ->I have a JBL 9.1 soundbar in my living room and I love it, it's a few years old at this stage but still supports all the latest codecs etc. The added bonus being it's wireless so the sub connects wirelessly as well as the rear surrounds. So you can place them pretty much anywhere you like. You could try to source one used, but for less than €300 is doubtful. What will you be hooking the soundbar upto and what is important for you? Codecs, bass etc?
r/Soundbars • Soundbar alternatives to replace my Logitech Z906 ->save a little more and get a used JBL 9.1, that will do everything you want, dts-x hd, atmos true hd etc wireless surrounds and a 10 inch sub. There are some on ebay for slightly more than you have saved currently.
r/Soundbars • Soundbar alternatives to replace my Logitech Z906 ->I have a jbl 9.1 still. I am looking to upgrade though because of audio delay issues. Was looking at either the q990f or 1300x. I thought the 1300 would be more like the 9.1 just with more speakers so would be better.
r/Soundbars • Just my 2 cent on the samsung Q990D soundbar ->Agreed. It's also something to keep in mind that some soundbars/receivers prefer the "Auto" setting compared to passthrough on LG TV's. This is something I've noticed coming from my JBL 9.1 to my Samsung Q990C. The Samsung seems to work better in auto mode with my LG C2 although the JBL was better with passthrough.
r/Soundbars • For People Who Are Underwhelmed With Their Soundbar on a LG TV ->I just purchased a Samsung Q990D for $1,060 after tax. Got it for an incredible deal ($1,500 for Black Friday + additional 30% off for First Responder discount) Before that I had a JBL Bar 9.1, it was good but the center channel would cut in and out at an unacceptable rate. I paid $900 for it on Greentoe Before that I had a Vizio V51-H6, it was surprisingly good for the price. Got it for $140 at Costco OP, I would stick with well known brands. Look at Rtings.com, they have incredible reviews and recommendations.
r/Soundbars • This soundbar good? Or at least good for the price? ->I've got the JBL Bar 1000, and I am very happy with it. Down firing sub that gives plenty of bass and detachable rear speakers. You can also get over models in the JBL bar range for cheaper, including the bar 9.1, which is very similar to the 1000 but just an older model There isn't that much out there review wise as the Samsungs seem to be the most popular. But, I tested the JBL and loved it for the sub and the detachable, rechargeable rear speakers in an awkward space I have where I can't really have a big speaker setup and permanent rear speakers.
r/4kbluray • Best soundbar to go with my personal room 4k setup ? ->Surround sound and immersion for jbl bar1300 for movies isn't good, owned jbl bar 9.1 enjoyed everything i watched, movies used to feel in centre of what was being played on tv.
r/Soundbars • Just my 2 cent on the samsung Q990D soundbar ->I thought so, and upgraded but totally disappointed wish had remained with 9.1,if you've tested bar 9.1 's sweetness don't go to bar1300 it sounds totally different, no immersion even on rtings.com 9.1 scores more than bar1300.
r/Soundbars • Just my 2 cent on the samsung Q990D soundbar ->Have jbl bar1300, hates it every day, surround sound immersion and effects is too bad .owned jbl bar 9.1 was way too good. Samsung q990F think it's better.
r/Soundbars • What should i choose?? Samsung Q990F or JBL bar 1300x or JBL bar 1300 MK2?? ->I'd still recommend jbl 1300 if anything its better than jbl 9.1. I had jbl9.1 and it was mind blowing watching any dolby atmos movies especially DUNE. I love jbl cuz its super mobile, i dont need to have the satellites fixed up for power outlets. I did install the hooks behind the couch and just attach it there when i watch movies.
r/Soundbars • Best $1000 soundbar system for music and movies? ->Maybe not the best since I'm not rich and haven't tried a bunch, but I got my JBL Bar 9.1 open box at Best Buy and it has been excellent. I have very picky ears and recognize a soundbar is a soundbar, but after placing the sub and rears properly and turning the sub to 2 I love it and think it sounds great with all kinds of content (music, movies, games). Had it a couple years now and it's been great!
r/Soundbars • What's the best soundbar? ->No, its a huge step up from built in tv speakers though, but you get the full potential from a prober audio setup. Also older films on 4K might just be in mono or stereo and dont require an Atmos setup. I have the JBL Bar 9.1 that kicks enough ass for me to be satisfied.
r/4kbluray • Are soundbar setups really that bad with 4K discs? ->Ya i like my 9.2.4 eArc 2 10” subs and 4 surrounds blends nice in a open concept kinda area. It was a almost 1800$ back when i got it for 200$ off an older couple a subwoofer plate fried so subs and surrounds didn’t work i called Nakamich ended up sending me 2 new plates for me to swap out after trying a couple things first. They didn’t chsrge me a dime just asked if it worked if i would send mine back w/shipping label they had sent so they could see what happened. You cant get much better customer care then that and they knew I bought it used. Also have a Vizio Mseries 5.1.2 and a jbl 9.1 i do like there 10” sub im using it as a blutooth speaker in my lil garage part of my basement.
r/Soundbars • TV speakers were my default for 10 years and finally switched to a budget 5.1 surround soundbar; best investment I made in a few years. ->Hey thanks for the review, I skipped this one and went for JBL bar 9.1 and I am loving it.
r/Soundbars • How is Sony HT-S40R? ->Hey thanks for the reply, I purchased JBL Bar 9.1 soundbar and its amazing
r/Soundbars • How is Sony HT-S40R? ->Got the JBL 9.1 on a steal of a deal. Sub woofer and detachable speakers. They absolutely rock my appartment for ~$550
r/jambands • Best couch tour soundbar ->Here’s a polished version: I think you did a good job, it looks great. As for the soundbar, my living room isn’t very large. I use a JBL 9.1 that I got at a great price a couple of years ago. Even though it’s an older system, it delivers excellent performance, especially for music. In the bedroom, I have a Sonos ARC which also sounds amazing. However, the best way to decide is to listen to them in person.
r/TVTooHigh • How did I do? ->Jbl soundbar 9.1 atmos No authorized service center in an entire state. Customers are forced to pay for engineer visits on top of faulty products. My soundbar has had recurring issues, warranty was extended only because they admitted fault, and now they run a money-grab “in-home service” scam. Even the CEO escalation team is useless — unprofessional, unhelpful, and clueless. Product Quality (Dolby Atmos): 3/10 Service Standards: 1/10 A brand that spends on flashy ads but delivers zero reliability and pathetic service. Nothing short of a scam.
r/Soundbars • Are high-end soundbars like the Samsung Q990D really that far behind a proper home theater? ->I got the JBL 9.1 and it’s awesome. I had the Sonos beam with two Sonos ones as rears. The JBL I have am has wireless surrounds too that with the sub is perfect for movies and music
r/Soundbars • Saw this system is on sale $350 off at Best Buy. 2 hours left on the sale when I found it. Went ahead and bought it. Hope I did well. ->JBL Bar 9.1 with rechargeable rears, put them back when she is around!
r/Soundbars • Best soundbar without rear speakers? ->I have the JBL 9.1 soundbar, got it with my TV a few years ago. Does it sound as good as the 5.1 set up I had for years but never upgraded it? No it doesn’t. I had a Denon receiver and Poik Audio all around, tower speakers up front, large center , and 2 nice sized rears. You know what the sound bar does have that n my 5.1 doesn’t? It doesnt have wires running awkwardly thru the house. It doesn’t have speakers taking up floor space. Do I miss it? Sometimes. Does my soundbar sound 100000x better than the basic TV speakers? Yes. I watch movies and game, and I enjoy the soundbar.
r/4kbluray • Are soundbar setups really that bad with 4K discs? ->I am coming from jbl bar 9.1 how does this compare?
r/Soundbars • JBL Bar 1000MK2 ->JBL 9.1. Back in October Prime Sale - I had a few soundbars I put on a list. That was the one that went on sale. It's fantastic. The dome of sound! This is the system with the detachable speakers that can be used as rears. the purists will preach about dedicated stereo systems. I honestly cant tell the difference between Tidal and Spotify. Obsessing over which soundbar to get when sometimes doing a coin toss is the best option. The JBL 9.1 is worlds better than the $150 Sony low budget soundbar I had. As for 'which is better.' There is a point where we are all under the 'placebo effect' and acting like we can tell the difference between dog whistles.
r/4kbluray • What sound system do you guys use to enjoy your movies? ->I like my jbl 9.1. I have moved the detachable speakers to my leather recliner in the corner and it’s awesome. If I can sit directly in front I can move the speakers there, if there are multiple people I will widen the width of the speakers and slightly raise there volume. Edit: My house is also very open, kitchen walls have been knocked down, so its about a 50'x40' space and thats why a personal surround works better but the speakers satellited to the corners isn't bad.
r/Soundbars • What is the best AIO sound bar currently if you don’t plan to use surround speakers? ->For that space I'd get something like the JBL Bar 9.1 True Wireless Surround with Dolby Atmos, Amazon has it on sale for like 800 bucks. I believe the rear speakers are wireless and recharge on the main soundbar. This is coming from someone with large floor standers and center speaker, atmos front height speakers and dual svs subs....with wire runs everywhere.
r/hometheater • Small room recommendations for speaker placement ->The JBL Bars with detachable wireless speakers and subwoofer are sick.
r/jambands • Best couch tour soundbar ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
