Unfortunately I found that there is no HDMI connectivity in the Samsung soundbar. I bought the JBL one.

It has but I compared both. The JBL SB510 has a dedicated center channel which gives more clarity and better and clearer dialogue sound as compared to Samsung one.

I recently upgraded soundbars as well, I got the JBL SB510 (around $200 CAD), it's an all in one soundbar, 3.1. No external sub, but has a center channel for clearer voice. Has built in sub though, Has 5 bass levels and I don't even have it maxed because even without a sub it's to much bass for an apartment. I got super lucky and they sent 2 for the price of one. Even at normal price I think its a good budget sound bar. I would recommend looking for a 3.1 soundbar over 2.1, the center channel is worth it.

I'm not sure tbh, i don't know if dolby is doing to much for budget soundbars anyways. Without satellite speakers it's hard to get real surround sound. I would say check out RTINGS. They actually will have a page of top recommended budget soundbars. If they've reviewed any of those models you can also compare them side by side.

I have a jbl sb510 just got it recently. Also in an apartment, and wanted 3 channel without a sub to not annoy neighbors. I think its pretty good, better than tv speakers. Surprising amount of bass to. 5 bass levels, I only use it at 3 maybe 4. Volume levels go up to about 32, I think even half way up at 15 is good. One downside is that it doesn't have an lcd display to tell you what volume you're at. If you hit the bottom or top it will slow blink twice, you can just count up/down from there. For people in apartments I think its solid. I actually scored and basically got it for free because I was sent two for the price of one by mistake.

It's good imo, also has a voice preset to help more, as well as movie and music.

Recently purchased the JBL SB510 for $80 for my bedroom. I believe it's still on sale. Considering the price point, definitely happy with it. The only thing I wish it had was an display instead of the different dot colors to indicate the mode. It's made from a nice heavy metal grille and plastic. Whatever all in one soundbar you get make sure it's at least 3 channels. You'll want that center channel to clearly hear dialogue. I also tried the Samsung all in one soundbar previously but didn't like that there was no numerical volume indicator given the higher price point.
