JBL - JBL Bar 800

I bought Bravia 7 last month, and wanted to pair it up with a Samsung Soundbar as i was using a decade old soundbar from Samsung. Went searching and testing out different brands soundbars at the stores, in the end only JBL soundbar impressed me the most. I got JBL Bar 800 in the end, the sound quality is really good and loud enough to fill my living room. I like the feature of the detachable speakers that is able to make the real surround sound, rather than the sound from soundbar reflecting to the ceiling to mimic surround sound. I was deciding JBL Bar 800 and Samsung Q800D at that time. The sales man in the store, recommended the highest end LG soundbar to me, but I wasn't impressed by it.

The short answer is no… here’s the deal… option 1: you can’t afford much so you’re really weighing up what the impact is if you value Raman over sound quality then get a solo bar… Option2: you can afford a sub but you’d really love something else… a good bar will do all you need it to for a room that size you can add to it later! I just bought a Samsung q700 for $400 AUD and it sounds 90% as good as my JBL 800… listen to a dozen in the store.. be a pest.. make them hate you… work out what sounds good and what’s on sale where you live…

I've got the JBL 800, basically got it half price. I too was very suss about it's performance. Overall very impressed! Bass is super powerful but with the app the EQ is highly adjustable to meet your needs. Always had great experience with their Bluetooth speakers. Now run it full time with the TV.

I was able to get JBL Bar 800 on Black Friday for 700 euros. That was a pretty good deal slightly above your budget. But now I can only see it for 800, 900 euros. Sometimes it's on a sale. The subwoofer is quite powerful but it's possible to limit it. But I like the detacheable rear speakers. You can hide them easily in the soundbar. Great for small living rooms. The only drawback is that it's in RMA right now - both HDMIs died after five months 😞.

I can't quantify it but it's definitely more than two hours - given I usually use it for at least two hours and then my daughter sits in front of TV for I better don't want to know how long 😉. But now I have USB cable nearby rear speakers, it's a little bit more convenient way to recharge. As for HDMI - one day sound stopped working. Initially I suspected TV but in the end it turned out even HDMI IN didn't work. So I RMAd it. Let's see. SPDIF worked but no Atmos and it was immediately noticeable how flat the sound became. For 700 euros it's a great deal, for 900 there are likely better soundbars.

I have jbl bar 5.1.2 .only doesn't like one thing cant play dtx files.otherwise, i am very happy this bar .bought 1 year ago.still going solid.

Jbl, god, damm bass is a beast if you are heavy bass lover.i got jbl 5.1.2.

I got also jbl 5.1.2. Movie lovers for the bass excellent. Only the problem cant play dtx files.

I just picked up two sound systems on sals, one is the JBL 800 and the other is JBL 1300X. Both connected to LG OLED tvs and let me tell you…. The sound quality is a GAME changer…. Love them both

Anything JBL I really recommend. German quality. I've got their wireless earbuds (JBL Live Pro 2 TWS) and their bar (JBL bar 800) which is Atmos compatible and delivers an immensely rich and deep sound, in true surround.

I did the exact same thing, but on jbl. Their outlet is extremely good, I got a brand new but also open box for $610. And the bar itself knocks it out of the park, the "sound bubble" makes me forget about it and add tons of atmosphere to all content. I also think the BAR700/800 lacks the MultiBeam technology, which I would say is essential. Congratulations!
