My cinema 400 sounds awesome! I’ve had it for about 2 years now with no issues. I’m about to pull the trigger on a cinema 800 , I like it so much

I had to come back and correct my statement… I had the soundbar right begging my laptop for my workstation, and the laptop being in front of the center speaker was creating the mushy sound- i raised it and’s now it sounds almost perfect in its default settings…. I approve!

Had mine for 4 years, lights wouldn’t come on today but still worked. Shut the tv off and came back this evening, now it wont even power up. It was a decent bar while it was going but will prolly replace with something else

I understand exactly what you mean. I had both the Cinema 400 & 600 & they both ended up fully dying on me. But this Flexus system definitely feels like a massive step up. App connects with no issues or lagging. I think the partnership with Onkyo was a perfect move. I'm pretty sure Klipsch really only makes speakers, at least I haven't heard or seen Klipsch making receivers nowadays but I haven't done any digging on that. But Onkyo however is a huge name in the AV HT department. So letting Klipsch handle the actual speaker side of it & Onkyo handling everything on the electrical side was a perfect move by Klipsch. Even just the physical bar itself feels like a much better built piece than the Cinema's did. Hell I think it sounds better than my Sonos Arc setup did

The entire Cinema series is terrible. Sound-wise they're alright but reliability they're all terrible. I first had the Cinema 400 & eventually got the Cinema 600. The Cinema 400 started acting up like not turning on immediately. I sold it, got the 600 & Eventually the 600 started doing the same thing. And I actually had 2 of the 600's fully died on me. You'd see the power light indication just flickering & shit. And apparently it was the same story for the Cinema 800 & 1200 too. But the Flexus system really seems like a step up. The app connection feels seamless. I think the Flexus system is a huge step forward with having Onkyo (a huge AV name) taking care of the internal electronics.

Actually you'd be surprised. Just because one's advertising dual 8" subs, doesn't certify that it'll be better than say a single 10, or in my experience, a single 8" vs a single 10" which I'll get into. Maybe one will provide louder bass, but id rather have a good full quality bass that's a little less powerful than louder but just ok quality bass. I had the Klipsch Cinema 400 which was wayyy back and it had a single 8" sub. That subwoofer had deeper playing bass than my dad's JBL Bar 3.1 with a 10" subwoofer. Not as loud bass, but easily noticeable deeper bass. It all comes down to driver and enclosure design. But I'm definitely with you about buying used. I used to buy & sell soundbars, i've got killer deals on used soundbars before. Bose system bought from Best Buy open box deals for $830 sold for $1k. Sony HT-Z9F bought for $75 on facebook, sold for $200. Flagship Vizio Elevate bought for $400, sold for $500. You can find some killer used soundbars for a really good price if you look hard.

Yes, stay away! I bought my cinema 400 brand new in 2020 on sale for $299. Yes the 10" sub was pretty good for what it was and the sound bar was good for what it was. And I would say in the sub $300 range it was probably the best one in that price range (when it worked). I stress the fact of, when it worked! Pretty much after about a month of service the TV would randomly not sense that the sound bar was connected, so the TV would keep switching back and forth between the internal TV speakers and the external soundbar. Very annoying! Secondly, about 20% of the time my TV was turned on the soundbar wouldn't turn on. I had to recycle the power on everything for it to sense the soundbar. But the final nail in the coffin, like everyone else, the power supply finally died. Since I was out of warranty, Klipsch wouldn't do anything about it. Even though they know this is an issue. In any case I bought a replacement power supply off Amazon and tried to fix it. I got the soundbar itself working with the new power supply however I was never able to get the sub to reconnect to the soundbar. Klipsch has yanked all support for these soundbars from their site. However one of the other members had an updated firmware for the soundbar. Well, I tried doing the update and it bricked the soundbar so now it's 100% useless. As is the sub because it can only connect to the cinema soundbars. There's no external inputs on the sub so it can't be reused in a new system which is an absolutely BS horrible design! My advise. If you can get the system for under $100 and you go in knowing it's a temporary throwaway system, go ahead and grab it. Because you are playing with fire and the power supply will die on you at some point. You may or may not be able to fix it at that point. If you're paying more than $100 for it or you want a permanent solution, my advice is stay away!!!!!
