This is all true. I upgraded from the cinema 600 to the Flexus so I’m well aware of the reliability issue. I changed the power supply on my 600, took about 10 minutes of research, $15 and 10 minutes of labor, so not that big of a deal imho. Still rocking the 600 in my bedroom now.

I had the Klipsch cinema 600, which just died after three years. Luckily, I bought it from my cousin who manages an electronics store, so he was able to use his managerial powers to replace it. With the rear speaker kit, it actually sounded pretty fantastic... But its death was a known issue. I wanted to try their new soundbars, which are made with Onkyo, but the sub was a separate purchase. He paired my LG c3 with their sc9s. It works so well with the TV. But the sound isn't as expansive as the Klipsch. hash-tag first world problems.

Yes, I have a Cinema 600 and it lasted from March 2021 till Thanksgiving 2024 thats a whopping 3 years 8 months.. then the power supply went bad.. Go do a search for pretty much the Klipsch 400,600, 48 whatever from that series and their power supplies are absolute trash many peoples died.. Thats why Klipsch now had a new series and notice how its "powered by Onkyo" now as they cant build a powersupply thats not garbage... I got 3+ but FFS for $500 I better get more than 3-4 years use out of something thats totally unacceptable.. Bad part.. Klipsch bars other than the power supply punched way above their weight.. it was a $500 bar that sounded like a $900+ bar(sound not all the extra bells and whistles) Same is true of this new Flexus series(at least the 200) it sounds awesome.. Im hoping that since they went with a different company for their power supply issues they had with the Cinema series that it clears that up.. I will probably and unfortunately (BUT hopefully they fixed the issue) end up with another Klipsch because FOR THE $ nothing is really in its class sound wise. Sore some bars that are $700-900+ sound as good but those are not $400 bars like the Klipsch they are almost all double the price. So yea stay AWAY from the Cinema series... and notice how everyone wants to tout the Samsung...That is actually excellent also but if you dont have any super secret codes and sales and all that stuff.. its at least $200-400 more($Q990 is typically without some secret coupon and handshake sale is $1,000 vs $350 for the Flexus 200 bar without sub and maybe $550-599 with sub)

My cinema 600 conked out with the typical bad power supply they are notorious for(thats why Onkyos making that stuff now not them) thats the worst part the bar going bad basically renders the Sub and surrounds worthless as nothing else connects to them. I also bet thats why they did the Flexus in pieces so if your bar went bad.. just buy a new bar use any of the Flexus subs or surrounds you want..

I understand exactly what you mean. I had both the Cinema 400 & 600 & they both ended up fully dying on me. But this Flexus system definitely feels like a massive step up. App connects with no issues or lagging. I think the partnership with Onkyo was a perfect move. I'm pretty sure Klipsch really only makes speakers, at least I haven't heard or seen Klipsch making receivers nowadays but I haven't done any digging on that. But Onkyo however is a huge name in the AV HT department. So letting Klipsch handle the actual speaker side of it & Onkyo handling everything on the electrical side was a perfect move by Klipsch. Even just the physical bar itself feels like a much better built piece than the Cinema's did. Hell I think it sounds better than my Sonos Arc setup did

The entire Cinema series is terrible. Sound-wise they're alright but reliability they're all terrible. I first had the Cinema 400 & eventually got the Cinema 600. The Cinema 400 started acting up like not turning on immediately. I sold it, got the 600 & Eventually the 600 started doing the same thing. And I actually had 2 of the 600's fully died on me. You'd see the power light indication just flickering & shit. And apparently it was the same story for the Cinema 800 & 1200 too. But the Flexus system really seems like a step up. The app connection feels seamless. I think the Flexus system is a huge step forward with having Onkyo (a huge AV name) taking care of the internal electronics.

I haven't heard the flexus but had a Klipsch Cinema 600 and it's just ok. Heard the Sennheiser at best buy and wasn't impressed. I like the Sonos but think it's overpriced. I've heard the Samsung q990 and it honestly beats them all. Never heard but would love to hear the kef. Their speakers are generally fantastic and I like the sound profile, particularly if you're looking for clarity.

My Klipsch cinema 600 sounds beautiful. I upgraded to an LG 77c4 TV and new audioquest cable for the soundboard
