I have the same, overall satisfied with the bar and surround itself but the sub is just not delivering.

I’ve been using this sound system for two years now, and it’s still going strong! The surround sound is amazing, and the Atmos is just okay, but overall, it’s a great sound system. They’ve also given it some updates and improvements over the years, which is nice.

Yeah, I have it but the one thing that I do miss coming from my Sony HTS 350 is the bass. The Sony HTS350 had an amazing bass sound but it started crackling a little bit when it got too loud. The one thing I've seen with this LG soundbar is that you can turn it up all the way to a high level (max I've gone is 48/100 and it was loud) and there was absolutely no distortion. Whenever my wife watches, she watches in the AI sound pro or voice enhanced mode and whenever I watch things, I usually have it on bass blast or cinema mode. Yes, the bass is there but it could definitely be better if it had some more lower thumping bass. The sound quality is fantastic and the app is really good when it works and detects the speaker. You can control many settings including individual channel volume which is pretty neat. It is a fantastic speaker and it's great listening to music on it because it's so clear. If you are looking for a mid-range soundbar, then this would be it. The other higher ranged ones from Samsung and LG are about a thousand and this was about 599 to 650ish

I agree. Amazing speaker. When watching TV shows and movies, I never turn it up past 12 or 13 cuz I'm in my bedroom but when we're home alone, then I turn it up to 20 lol

I think my LG S80QR 5.1.3 has the weakest sub in the world. I miss my old Yamaha System with an independent subwoofer.

I bought the LG s80QR to go with my 77” LG B2. Rear speakers are a must these days.

It depends how much sound you can afford in your place. I got lg s80qr and it works great for me. Same remote control as my LG tv and I am mostly listening it to 10 out of 100. I had it at 40-50 twice since I got it on new years. At that range it's more than enough for me.

Sorry for the necro. The S80QR is reduced to over half price (£499) in the UK. It's an amazing soundbar, that handles anything I've thrown at it with ease. It's loud, but what really impresses I'd the sound quality. It sounds like a high-end soundbar should sound. I 100% anybody that's considering buying one, to pull the trigger. You won't regret it

It's not as good as it would be if it had actual speakers in the ceiling, but it is a rich and room-filling sound, especially in cinema mode with the right content. The rear speakers work well with 5.1 or Atmos, and I'm finding they really shine with games.

It sonos arc ultra work well with lg. I use it with my LG B4. Samsung make good sound soundbars. But they drop the ball on their firmware update with bricking some soundbars with the last update on their 990. If you are looking at a more busget friendly. The lg bars work well. They like the lower cost samsung does not do atmos like samsung top of the line. The lg s80qr is a pretty good soundbar that is not super expensive.

The LG DS80QY is the same soundbar as the LG S80QY, the "D" is specific to the region it's being sold in. This soundbar can only passthrough 4K 60Hz see [full review of the soundbar](https://www.rtings.com/soundbar/reviews/lg/s80qy) here and passthrough capabilities below: https://preview.redd.it/dxpb7wxytwle1.png?width=904&format=png&auto=webp&s=2b924d50f855f0be0ded76a8edc6ca890ff68484 I'm not sure who advertised this soundbar as being able to passthrough 4k 120Hz but they were lying to you, only a few soundbars just recently (2024) have added capabilities for 4k 120Hz passthrough video, see below: * [Samsung Q990D](https://www.rtings.com/soundbar/reviews/samsung/hw-q990d) * [Nakamichi Dragon](https://www.rtings.com/soundbar/reviews/nakamichi/dragon)

I LOVE my S80QR. I’ve never thought it was missing something. I’ve thought at times the subwoofer is a little punchy and not as deep as my Sonos but I love it. For $446 I’d say it’s not a steal but I think you’d enjoy it.
