I just got this soundbar .... S90TY...i am not sure if it is the same soundbar, but likely is. For normal tv broadcasted stereo/compressed content, it is an okay improvement to listening to TV speakers. But here is where i was impressed. For dolby digital dts and dolby atmos, the rich sound really moves you. I always doubted that sound was important for home movies, but i can now confirm it is 50% of the experience. The rumbles, the way audio sets the stage and moves your emotion.... The upfiring atmos is a little underwhelming (though it has always been for me even in atmos theatres)..... Verdict: a great soundbar for movies (the encoded movie audio has to be good to begin with). A big upgrade for daily tv watching and music but that can be done with a cheaper soundbar/speaker setup. EDIT: The soundbar got much much much better after restting AI room calibration. See comment below.
r/Soundbars • LG US90TY, anyone have info? ->I reset the soundbar and it is now really really good. A bit too much bass for my small room (so i took bass down to -2db). Apparently ai room calibration ain't that intelligent after all (at least it is not for my small room). After calibration, If audio quality is low, It makes the speakers sound small and you can definitely tell the audio is coming from the soundbar in a boxy like output. After resetting ai-room calibration, i am now generally happy with the soundbar all-round. Great for music, great for tV, and really good for movies. I suggest trying ai-room calibration for a few hours and then resetting the calibration. Stick to whatever sounds better.
r/Soundbars • LG US90TY, anyone have info? ->I have a LG C4 55" tv and I want to get a soundbar for it. I have a pretty good deal on LG Soundbars so I narrowed my options to this brand. I use the tv in a small gaming room and I won't add surround speakers. I sit 60 inches (1.50m) in front of the TV and I use it mostly for gaming. I love the Synergy bracket from the SC9S and I really like the idea of not having to worry about the soundbar covering part of the tv. However, the S90TY seems (vastly?) superior. The SC9S is slightly smaller (which is a plus), but the S90TY is a 5.1.3 system. Do those 2 "lateral" extra speakers of the S90TY really help on having a better soundstage? One one hand I like the idea of having "the best" soundstage I can get for a 55" tv in relatively small room, on the other hand I think the SC9S might be more than enough since I sit close and overall the integration with the tv might be sleeker. Help me decide between one or the other. Thank you!
r/Soundbars • LG SC9S or LG S90TY for a small room with 55" C4? ->I found a very good deal on the S90TY. It's a superior soundbar and I found it cheaper than the SC9S. At first I was thinking about getting a synergy bracket by searching for replacement parts, but in the end the bar doesn't block the tv - It would only block it if you sit parallel or below the bar level - and it looks nicer.
r/Soundbars • LG SC9S or LG S90TY for a small room with 55" C4? ->yup ended up with one :)
r/Soundbars • LG SC9S or LG S90TY for a small room with 55" C4? ->I’d say Dont cheap out on the soundbar or you will have a worse audio than plain tv and regret your purchase. You at least need a soundbar with dedicated central channel or you will have a hard time hearing dialogues and it needs to support dolby atmos and dtsx. Most cheap ones say they do but they really dont, and only support pcm stereo and dolby digital, and those are old and not performing well. My advice is look for a good deal on a good soundbar and dont waste money on cheap stuff otherwise it will just be worse. For my G4 i went for the lg S90QY
r/Soundbars • Budget soundbar for new LG C4 recommendations ->Samsung Q990D is a recommended soundbar but in my opinion; if you have LG OLED TV like me, LG soundbar would be the best. The reason is LG WOW Orchestra feature. I live in an apartment and the sound passes to the neighbors a lot, they balanced the sound very well with WOW Orchestra, so I can use the soundbar all the time, neighbors are not disturbed.
r/Soundbars • What is the Best Surround Sound System? ->If you want WOW orchestra to be a crucial part of your experience then go the LG. If you don’t care about the feature. See if about the q930d or 990d if you’re able to get a good discount via Samsungs website.
