I own the 9.1 and have for over a year now. It sounds great and I have the sub set up behind my couch and it does the job. The sound from the bar is decent and it does a good job of sending the sound around but I find the detachable surround speakers to be a slight annoyance. You have to remember to put them back each day or they will die, so unless I'm watching an epic movie or some mind-melting music I leave them attached. It is nice to be able to position them in any formation though. My friend has had 2 of the Q series and they are superior quality but also twice as expensive. In my bedroom I am using the LG S60TR 5.1 system and it might be the room acoustics but it sounds better to me. It has the wireless sub like the JBL but also has 2 wireless satellite surround speakers as well. I run the sound bar under the TV, the sub along one wall, and the surrounds are on each side of the bed. These are an amazing amount of sound for the money ($250 USD) and in most practical applications the 5.1 is more than sufficient.
r/Soundbars • Any review of the JBL Bar 820? Is this a good deal? ->Funny thing is I just picked up the LG 5 mins ago. I purchased an excellent open box for 166 and looks brand new. All items looked like it was untouched. I saw the Vizio as well, and can be had for open box excellent for 130. I would say go with the one that is physically appealing to you, as in the sub 200 price range these are prob the best choices so you can’t lose either way
r/Soundbars • Having a hard time choosing between LG S60TR or Vizio 5.1 ->I had bought the LG S40T ($150) but returned it and instead bought the LG s60TR ($200) and it was definitely better. It depends on your budget and the room size and what you expect for what you spend. I suggest if you have the time to go to Best Buy or any other store and explore the variety of soundbars and see which one suits you best.
r/LGOLED • soundbar recommendation for 42oled LG ->Less volume, whilst the s60tr comes with rear speakers and is louder
r/LGOLED • soundbar recommendation for 42oled LG ->better than most other 5.1’s with satellites in a similar price range for sure! you can get a vizio 5.1 for about $50-$125 less, but they’re going to sound noticeably lesser in quality than the LG. if you want a little more depth in your audio though i’d get the S70 instead, as it adds some height to your sound bubble as well
r/Soundbars • LG S60TR is it good? Would you recommend it? ->I use the LG-NS60TR (soundbar, subwoofer and 2 back) and i’m very thrilled with it. Got it for like 200 dollars brand new so i guess that plays a part in it but i think they are great coming from no soundbar at all.
r/LGOLED • Soundbar recommendations for LG C4? ->I got a NS60TR for like 200 usd which in my opinion is very good for the price, good subwoofer and nice with backspeakers!
r/Soundbars • Soundbar recommendations for C4 ->Out of the 2, the LG is better but not by enough to really warrant the price difference. Gotta Vizio.
r/Soundbars • Having a hard time choosing between LG S60TR or Vizio 5.1 ->I recently got an LG US60TR (sound bar with wireless sub and rear speakers) I'd definitely say it was worth the money. I got this in the UK, on sale at Currys, for £250. For a 5.1 surround sound setup, it's less important about the positioning of the rear speakers. Certainly, don't place them in front of you; beside you should be fine. Just make sure they're far enough away from your ears so they don't over power the sound bar.
r/Soundbars • Help chosing a soundbar ->The s60tr is a good sound bar. Butnif you dont want something the extreme with having tomaet up surround speakers. Just get a bose soundbar for about 280. It will give you good audio for dialogue and still sound good.
