LG - S90TR

I think the LG S90TR is looking like the best mid-range pick this year, 7.1.3 Atmos, great dialogue clarity, and solid bass for the price. The Samsung HW-Q800D is another strong option if you want something punchy and immersive. If you’re short on space, the Sonos Beam Gen 2 is still a really solid compact choice.

If you want WOW orchestra to be a crucial part of your experience then go the LG. If you don’t care about the feature. See if about the q930d or 990d if you’re able to get a good discount via Samsungs website.

I got the S90TR on FB marketplace for 350. Still over your budget but maybe look there for a good deal.

I really enjoyed the S90TR demo i had today vs the jbl 1300 and Q990f. LG isn't that bad i dont understand the hate

See if you can get an LG S90TR. That model should be cheaper than the new S95AR. I've been pretty happy with mine. Though I do wish it put out more bass from the sub.

I got an open box (rated excellent) from Best Buy for $637 (+tax) for the LG S90TR. Haven't set it up yet.

So I just got out set up, aside from the rear speakers. NOT very impressed 🤬 I have it set with the Orchestra setting, and I'm not seeing any of the reported delays (yet), but the sub is no better than my old SLY8G!!! I'm not hearing any "thump"! Additionally, with the SLY8G I couldn't turn the soundbar volume up over maybe 17. The S90TR needs to go upwards of 40-50! WTF?! Someone else posted about tweaked settings, so I have to check that. Right now, I'm not seeing it live up to the hype - or the cost. Sure, it's handy to be all wireless, but right now, that's the only plus I'm seeing. 😕

Not a bad price, though I have seen better posted. I have an LG S90TR myself, and am saddened by the lack of bass. 😕

I got the LG S90TR mostly because it integrates seamless with the LG C5. It’s an upgrade over my older cheap surround sound receiver from 20 years ago but it doesn’t have a wow factor. I’d say 7/10

Samsung Q990D is a recommended soundbar but in my opinion; if you have LG OLED TV like me, LG soundbar would be the best. The reason is LG WOW Orchestra feature. I live in an apartment and the sound passes to the neighbors a lot, they balanced the sound very well with WOW Orchestra, so I can use the soundbar all the time, neighbors are not disturbed.

LGS90TR, I’d say 6. It’s a little quiet when it comes to dialogue and I haven’t worked out how to fix it. Otherwise sound effects and the surround itself is amazing. It’s a pricey system though, I spent $880 with tax at Best Buy.

Those LG setups are junk. I got the s90tr last year with my G4. My much cheaper Vizio soundbar/surround was way better than it. But I just went with Sonos arc ultra and a sub 4 and am so far extremely happy with it.
