LG - S95QR

I have a lower versions SC9S paired with rear speakers. Most reviewers said it’s not as good as Sony or Bose but I got it a discount ($250 for bar but had to pay $160 for rear speakers). I say it’s not as good as a dedicated surround sound setup and upward facing speakers are not effective for Atmos. Front L&R is not as separated on my bar but s95qr has dedicated outward firing L&R so it should sound better. Overall it is a cheap way to dip your toes into surround sound. I didn’t find the wow orchestra or ai sound profiles to be good. They give a wider soundstage but it affects the quality. I just stick to standard settings.

I own this as well. It's priced higher than OP's budget but it was worth the splurge to me. Today I watched Interstellar on 4k for the first time and the system got a workout! But holy moly was it excellent sound.

So accurate. I was like “My goodness this thing is only on volume level 18 & the house is vibrating.” LOL

I bought this with my LG G3 and returned right back in 2 days. Its too bad guys.

I spent 2 days doing it and tried almost everything i can. When I returned it, the store told me that they knew i will return and i asked why, they said most of the people do lol LG was working ok with Bluetooth but with my tv, i had to blast volume to like 90% and then i compared it with Samsung sound and build quality, i realized that Samsung is far far better in sound quality and it was super easy to connect with anything. I mean if i am spending $, why would i compromise Even if i can buy it for $500, i wont haha

I've got an LG S95qr, and it's been great for me. I don't really see the need for anything more.

That’s a solid deal! I have the S95QR paired with my C2 and it sounds amazing. It gets very loud, has plenty of bass, clear dialogue, and the surround performance is very immersive, especially with Atmos or DTS:X. Download the LG Sound Bar app on your phone and dial in the EQ and speaker levels to taste, and you’ll be good to go. I personally use Cinema mode. I’ll never understand people who say it doesn’t have enough bass. This thing rattles my walls.

Out of the box everything is lackluster because all of the speaker levels are set flat. Run the AI Calibration, then set the individual speaker levels and EQ to taste and you’ll get a great sound.

I’ve got the LG S95QR and dialogue is very clear. Surround performance is also phenomenal for movies, it has a ton of bass, and plenty of volume/headroom. You might be able to find deals on it online since it’s LG’s previous flagship model, otherwise the current version is the S95TR. Q990D also kicks ass, you can’t go wrong with either!

No, they aren’t bad at all, everyone on Reddit just makes it sound like your TV will implode and the foundation of your house will crack if you buy a 4K TV and player and then use anything other than an AVR with wired speakers. I use an LG S95QR with my OLED, and while I’m well aware that it’s not the same as a receiver with separately placed center, left, right, sub, rears, and Atmos drivers installed in my ceiling, it does sound amazing. My space isn’t practical for an AVR/speaker setup, and a lot of people are probably in the same boat, so something like what I have or you have is perfectly fine. I was recently at a buddy’s house for a movie night in his newly built home theater in his basement, and that has the receiver and separate speakers, including ceiling mounted Atmos speakers. It obviously sounded incredible, and I definitely plan on doing something like that in our next house where we’ll have the space, but I also don’t feel shame for having a soundbar/surround setup right now that sounds killer in my living room and still gives me a very immersive and spacious experience when watching a 4K disc. Let your ears do that talking for you, not brow-beaters on Reddit, haha.

In the past, I just make a small excuse like I used the wrong payment method lol. They never seem to care here near Chicago.

I have had the system since day one, and only today I learned how to calibrate this correctly. Neither the stores you buy it from or LG themselves are unable to tell you how to do this. Firstly download the app, set all sp3akers and sub woofer to the lowest setting, then calibrate using the AI option, then start a movie or song and incrementally increase speakers and sub woofer via speaker settings in the app and don't forget to do the same in the EQ icon in the top right, then sel3ct surround on or off depending which you prefer IMO surround on for tv content (sky Q) and surround off for movies with atmos and music. Also I have had very poor results when connect the bar via WiFi, it seems to downgrade the sound quality IMO. Give this a try and then give another review as I think you will be pleasantly surprised 😮

LG S95QR The thing is a beast

I got the S95QR when I bought a TV from LG, which was a nice thing for the LG-TV especially. The contrast between Atmos and non-Atmos bothered me a lot; a lot of the oomph was lost. The Samsung was a little more convincing and Atmos was also a bit more spatial. In the end I stuck with my passive setup even though it takes up more space The Sony are supposed to be the only ones that offer real added value if you use a suitable TV as a center and are actually a very good addition to the system. But I didn't have these or the others not mentioned at home

I just picked up an LG S95QR this week (model before the S95TR). I’m really happy with it. Especially since I got it brand new in the box for $800

I bought this soundbar few days back for a very good deal after seeing all the reviews. Bass is definitely very weak but the quality of the sound and music is top notch.

I have the same setup but when I watch movies in Netflix, voice is very low even in clear voice mode but the surround is loud. Do I need change and settings?

amazon has a history of sellers bumping up the price right before prime day so they can discount it as a "sale". no matter that tho, i reccomend something like the s90qr or the s95qr. these systems are great and will probably work well for your LG c3. please dont be like the rest and cheap out on a good sound system.

You should check out LG's s95qr soundbar I had bought one and music sounded really good but returned it for samsung q990c due to my main use is movies but music sounds way better on the LG tho

on atmos and dix definately not a gimmick , I have the LG s95 3 upfirers on the soundbar , and two upfirers on the rears as well as 2 side firing , 4 front firing and a subwoofer, massive difference
