I got the S95QR for my C2 a few years back and it’s been great in our small living room. Solid dialogue clarity and bass, good surround performance for a soundbar — obviously not the same as an AVR with proper separation, but if that’s not where you’re at right now then yes, based on my experience LG has been solid. For what it’s worth, don’t buy one for LG WOW Orchestra, it doesn’t sound very good.
I have the S95QR (predecessor to the S95TR) with my C2 and it sounds awesome. I don’t do Wow Orchestra because it doesn’t sound good, but the soundbar setup on its own sounds great. The Atmos/DTS:X simulation is pretty good, but definitely not the same as dedicated ceiling speakers. Still, it’s got great dialogue clarity and pretty solid surround immersion, and the sub has plenty of heft! Their soundbars get a lot of hate online, I’m not sure if it’s just because the lower-end models aren’t so hot or because these subs are full of Samsung and Nakamichi lovers, but if you can get a higher-tier LG setup on sale it’s totally worth it in my experience.
I've had the lg s95qr for a couple years. Its.... ok. Not the best, and I'm sure not the worst. I can't tell a huge difference between it and the 10 yo vizio 5.1 it replaced. In is defense my room is terrible for atmos, so I can't fault it for that. I tried to replace it with the q990d, but FedEx lost my package, and I got stuck with the lg due to return windows. Some day I'll upgrade to sonos, but it's not a rush. I also don't use the wow orchestra function as it never worked well. The sound did not mesh at all.
Its a big step up from the TV speakers with any decent sound system. I went with a S95QR for my 65 C2, and I have been enjoying every moment with it for the past couple of years!
Yes. You can get an S75QR with subwoofer used on eBay for like $150. Nobody notices a minor ding or dent on a soundbar. I just got an S95TR off eBay and love it. I just ordered an S95QR to upgrade another room too.
I really like my S95TR so much that I bought an S95QR for another property. You can get them on eBay for $500-$900.
Congrats! Enjoy it! I own the LG S95QR 9.1.5 ch soundbar. And all i can say is that it's been an amazing experience! It gets really loud lol. But I love it! Great design - modern and sleek. 🙂
I bought an open box S95QR last year from best buy, and I returned it a couple days later. I just could not get it to sound great no matter how I tweaked it. Earlier this year, I got a great price on the Q990D. It's not even comparable. The sound was noticably better before I even tweaked a single thing.
Get one of the LG dolby atmos imax soundbars, they're designed to integrate with your LG OLED much better
You probably want a jail broken ub820, people tend to recommend 220electronics (i have no personal experience with them yet). Obligatory, a wired sound system is best. But, I run the LG S95QR, offers a decent enough 5.1 experience (says atmos on tin, but that depends on dynamics of room/setup), the soundbar on it’s own offers a satisfying sound if you don’t want to stretch to the 5.1 setup. The model is a few years old now, so expect there is a newer equivalent.
