I’m super happy with my TCL Q75H soundbar paired to my 75” QM7. Was happy to stay in the ecosystem and it sounds fantastic for the price, IMO.

That’s funny I got it and it sounds great, unless something is wrong with yours

The TCL Q85H or even Q75H is excellent in this regard as well. At 499, it's a steal with top notch Atmos performance and Ray Danz technology (sound beam)

Same here with TCL Q75H. Everything is perfect except the bass, which sounds in every voice stroke. It's impossible to remove it, even playing with options and putting in Altmos content.

As I mentioned, with the TCL Home app but on iPhone and Airplay, I can't with my Android. The app showed me a version (possibly v31), it installed and then the app showed me another update, v47. In my case there were 2 updates in a row.

With the recent firmware (v47) the problems with humming voices in the subwoofer have been resolved and I have noticed a fairly notable improvement in all aspects.

Brilliant. I appreciated a much more correct bass control and a more balanced sound in general terms. I'm glad you're updated.

Good review! I recently bought this myself at appeox 250 dollars. As you did mention; Once updated the firmware, this is totally a «bang for the buck» option if you get it for a reasonable price!

Just played around, but these settings from TCL Home app is what I think sounds good for our use case (mostly for series and movies); 1. AI Sonic activated. Configured for my spot in the couch ;) 2. Movie settings 3. Increase the atmosfear 4. Voice enhancement 5. Sub to max 6. Medium trippel I’ve learned that you would need some volume for the soundbar to sound really good

Nice! Under Sound settings in TCL Home app, there is the mid button above bass/treble settings. I have mine in norwegian, so not sure what it’s called in english. It is something with «atmosfear» directly translated.

I have read some quite mixed reviews on this soundbar, but when it showed up on a discount at just $250 i decided that it was too cheap to not try it myself. So this is the flagship soundbar from TCL, and you can feel it from the moment you receive the package that is 15Kg. It has also two features that were a dealbreaker for me when getting a new soundbar, it was up-firing drivers and HDMI 2.1 pass-trough. The only other soundbar that I found with both of those features is Sony Theater Bar 9, which is like 5x more expensive. After updating it to the latest firmware (Using the AirPlay method), I can say that it sounds exceptional, but the sound signature is very warm even if you increase the treble all the way up. It’s something that is easy to get used to, but in the beginning the warm sound may be too warm for many people. The soundstage is probably the best I have heard from a soundbar, it is very wide and the atmos effect are surprisingly good. The subwoofer hits also surprisingly strong. In other words, you can hear that this is a flagship soundbar. The app is probably the worst part of this setup, it lacks a lot of adjustments. It should have had a 3-band EQ when the sound is so warm out of the box. The voice enhancement mode in the app works well, but it completely removes the bass from the sound. Overall it’s a solid 7,5/10 soundbar, and it’s a fantastic deal if you get a good discount on it.

I got the TCL Q75HK 5.1.2 soundbar on Amazon UK and returned it in a week. I have the 55 inch 4K TV which is pretty good so I wanted the soundbar to pair with it and boy it was a big mistake. There was an irritating continuous background hissing noise which was very pronounced during dialogue when watching movies. It's so bad that it hurts your ear. I looked online for solutions and read that I should update the firmware using the TCL app to fix it. For some unknown reasons it didn't list the latest firmware. I also read you should do the upgrade using iOS as it doesn't work in Android. I tried with an iPhone and still didn't work. I even changed the HDMI cable yet it didn't stop the weird background noise. I put it back in the box and it was collected in a week by the courier. Luckily, the Samsung Q930F was on sale on Amazon UK so I purchased that instead and so far it's been wonderful.

Currys....I assume you're in UK. Keep monitoring Amazon UK. You may get a good Samsung Q series soundbar at a good price. Those TCL soundbars aren't worth it.

What did you do with IOS? From what I have read to need to stream content via airplay for it to connect to your wifi network. From there you are good and it should update. I was able to get this cheap and really hoping I can get it to work if I can get my hands on an iPhone.

Yeah. I managed to get it cheap from Currys but returned it as I did the same as you. Tempted to try again cos you could tell it would be good if it actually worked.

this review is coming in a few months late, but i wanted to add my two cents: the Q75H is *awful*. something about the way it processes multichannel audio makes it so that what you would normally hear from the rears/sides (in a surround setup with individual SR/SL speakers) is turned up just as loud as the dialog... so anytime you're watching content with multichannel audio, you hear this constant muddy humming or murmuring noise, because it's sending all the background audio from the show (like distant traffic, walla/rhubarb, and so on) alongside the center channel. i've looked through the manual and there seems to be no way to tune or adjust this. just terrible.

the soundbar is -- was, since i just got back home after returning it to the store -- connected to a Sony X90CK. the media player is an Apple TV 4K, which is feeding the Q75H's hdmi input. the ATV4K, naturally, performs decoding of the audio streams it receives, and sends that down the hdmi cable to the soundbar as 5.1 pcm. any audio sink in a home theater setting can handle straight pcm no problem. the problem (the one i'm experiencing, that is) is really easy to identify just by putting an ear near the top-firing or side-firing speakers on the Q75H. you can hear all the foley, ADR'ed extra dialogue, wind, and all that stuff just as loud as the voices coming out of the center speaker. it *seems* like a great soundbar, especially for $400... but i learned long ago to not hold on to defective or buggy product for the promise of future patches and updates. a handful of other reports of these same issues, even after the latest firmware updates, (https://www.reddit.com/r/Soundbars/comments/1ez1fvx/thoughts\_on\_the\_tcl\_q85h/?rdt=56959) let me know there's some larger issue here.
