Does anyone know after the latest firmware updates, how would this compare to a LG S90TR or some of the Samsungs? I've heard it's kind of boomy and sometimes dialogue can be muddy.
That's what I was wondering, it's odd that Rtings didn't mention it at all. They said they had firmware 37 installed so I was hoping that firmware fixed the issue. Since some people have this issue and some do not, I wonder if it's actually something besides software such as interference or actually an issue with the signal a certain group of TV's is putting out....maybe the rears are actually playing something they are receiving. I went and listened to these at Best Buy and put my ear right up to the rears and couldn't hear any wind....no idea what firmware. The speaker system was connected to a TCL 85" QM8. But I think you're correct, I probably shouldn't risk it.
I've been enjoying my TCL Q85H Pro - definite caveat on this. It needs a firmware update as it sounds like absolute rubbish, the update process is a nightmare, this is because you have to set it up via apple device (had to borrow an friend's) to get it onto wifi and then when its on wifi it will eventually push the update. If you're happy to go through the loopholes I believe it was worth it. The sound quality is now as expected which I am happy with.
The TCL Q85H or even Q75H is excellent in this regard as well. At 499, it's a steal with top notch Atmos performance and Ray Danz technology (sound beam)
I have a TCL Q85H (7.1.4) setup. Soundbar, sub, and two satellite speakers. After a few rounds of firmware updates, it sounds fantastic and I actually have my Panasonic UB-820 plugged directly into it.
We just got an 85" QM6k with the Q85H and it sounds amazing. Works flawlessly with TCL TV's of course. Does need an update to the latest firmware as there is a wind sound that comes from the satellite speakers, but after that it sounds incredible with everything that we have watched so far
I’ve got a TCL Q85H. Had it since January and I’m really not impressed. I’ve been considering replacing it with the new Nakamichi Wireless. I just wish there were more reviews out there. I’ve been eyeing some open box options at their eBay store.
yeah, like value wise the ax5125h and q85h are really hard to beat. they have their quirks but we found the only real way to beat them is to get one of the older gen samsungs on sale. but even then, samsung cancelled a bunch of the q990d orders that were absolute steals.
Hi everyone, I live in Italy and I also bought this soundbar. I updated the firmware as specified in the previous comments. Unfortunately the problem with the rear speakers remains. Unbelievable wind noise from the rear speakers. Also the volume of speech is sometimes low compared to everything else. Even with Atmos content. Do you have any news? So this soundbar is useless
hi, I updated as you said but unfortunately the rear speakers still have the problem of wind noise. have you solved it? it’s really unnerving and tcl doesn’t care. they advised me to redo the pairing of the speakers (absurd)
This soundbar is a shit. TCL after 4 updates failed to solve the wind problems. I can hardly watch a movie listening from this soundbar. Spend a little more and go to Samsung. I’m very disappointed with TCL
Come ti trovi con questo aggiornamento? Io ho ancora problemi di rumore del vento dalle casse posteriori. Assurdo
Hi, I installed the latest version but it sounds terrible and I hear the wind noise almost always. Did you hear from customer service by any chance? So this soundbar is useless
Ciao, ho lo stesso problema del rumore del vento. Hai risolto?
I just got a tcl q85h and it’s not bad for me personally
I love my TCLQ85H
rtings likes the TCL Q85H, and I agree I own both the TCL q85h for the bedroom. Also a samsung 990d for the living room which works great when it works but has had a lot of earc issues
nope earc straight up doesn't work at all only works with bluetooth, but this kind of defeats the purpose of a fancy soundbar since the sound quality of earc is so much better (things like dolby atmos only work with earc) this sub LOVES the samsung 990, but honestly i think the best bang for your buck is the TCL Q85H given all the firmware issues based on rtings
