So I actually just replaced my sound bar with Walmart Onn 5.1.2 for USD$200 and I’ve been incredibly impressed. If your parents are anything like mine, they’d like it

I have it and it does 5.1 with Nintendo Switch, for anyone wondering. It sounds pretty good for the price. I also have the ONN 5.1.2 for the same price I think is even a better option

No, it feels just like a basic 5.1 setup. The Onn 5.1.2, which has two speakers pointing to the ceiling, has a better effect; it also cost $200

If you like the Onn 5.1.2 soundbar, then keep it—there is nothing to be ashamed of with that soundbar. It's not talked about because Onn is a Walmart brand and some people only see anything Walmart brand as being cheap and poor quality, but I would say Onn has some good quality stuff for an affordable price.

Oh no, audio lag? I just got this sound bar yesterday and I hooked it up earlier and it sounded pretty good for my Bluetooth over just stereo audio and the subwoofer has great bass, but I was also gonna hook it up to my Xbox series X either directly or through my TV eArc for Dolby Atmos but audio delay doesn’t sound good. Was there anyway you found to fix it and should I output it over HDMI through my TV or directly from my Xbox?

I had this sound bar for a day and kind of had the same problem this. I found adjusting the e q settings on the t v help with the voicess. I would have kept it if the atmos worked on my xbox without audio lag.

I found a $350 deal on Samsung Q Series HW-Q600C 360W 5.1.2-Channel Dolby Atmos Soundbar System with rear speakers and returned the Walmart Onn system. The new speakers have so much more voice clarity, but might not feel the room as much. The Onn had an amazing bass and really filled the room, but the cloudy center/voice channel was so muddy it was a world of difference for about $150 more.

I own the exact soundbar that you have. I too was blown away by the sound from that in Walmart. I brought it home and was able to play the exact same demo and it sounded just as good at home. I have had no issues with it. I see a lot of people say that they can't hear audio like dialog, very well. I have not experienced this. I have it hooked up through HDMI and so far have been very happy with it. Maybe my only gripe with it is that I cannot find a remote code to make it work with my Air TV. So I've gone to using my Samsung TV remote for everything. It's not quite as easy but it works. Hope yours provide you long-lasting great sound. I have a Dolby Atmos soundbar by LG that I paid almost $800 for. So of course, it does sound better, but this is just for my living room TV.

I'm in the same boat. I'm still trying to decide if I should return it or not. It's frustrating. It has Music, Movie, and Talk mode but no Auto or Standard mode?! There's no app to EQ the soundbar. I was watching a movie with a lot of big movie sounds but there's also singing and I can't hear the vocals. I switch to my TV speakers and I can. I've played with all the settings and can't seem to get the sound that I'm looking for. I feel like my room isn't the right shape for the system and there's nothing I can do about it. I'm 50/50 on keeping them or not.

After being with it for a day I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep it mainly because I have a Roku TV which means I can control the soundbar using the Roku remote. I set the Roku TV to Audio Output to Auto and I could use the TV speakers when I turn off the soundbar. I discovered I just need to use the right mode for what I'm watching. For certain things, the TV speakers work great. For certain things, I use the movie mode with the vrtx turned on. It's definitely not an amazing sound system but I'm willing to live with that for the price at the moment and wait for what I really want to come along and what I really want doesn't exist yet which is WiiM with Atmos. I ordered speaker stands for the rear speakers which I hope I'll be able to reuse for my next system.

Exactly! I'm wondering if not having carpet is affecting the sound. Now I realize I need a system with room sound correction which I can expect from this cheap system. I'm very tempted to go the two speakers and a sub route. The lack of left right separation (imaging) is something I can't do anything about. It's definitely been a BIG learning experience. Now I understand what I really want and how much it will cost. I think I should probably stay with this inexpensive solution and save for a future system. My ideal system (that doesn't exist) would be a WiiM device that supports ATMOS. By that time I purchase, it's possible speakers will have a built-in next level Bluetooth that WiiM can connect to so everything will be wireless. 🦄
