Polk Audio - MagniFi Max

Klipsch told me to return mine. If you plan on getting the surrounds, you may have issues. They use a USB dongle to connect wirelessly and it's terrible. The USB dongle would also get incredibly hot, like to the point I can't imagine the electronics lasting long. It would randomly drop out (longest it lasted was an hour or so) and then require an entire rebinding process. To me, a premium soundbar that relies on such crappy old technology to connect peripherals is a bad sign. What other things did they cheap out on? Even budget soundbars have integrated connectivity. Makes me question Klipsch moving forward. Ended up getting the Polk Magnifi Max. Plugged it in and everything was automatically binded and has never lost signal once. Not recommending you do the same, but I am recommending hunt around a bit. This "flagship" model of theirs has some issues, and their tech support literally said "yeah it may have some bugs to workout since its new, just return it".

Never the Polk. The Magnifi Max was the worst soundbar I ever owned. Sound was meh, customer service was worse. It even managed to brick after an update. $700 e-waste. I’m still bitter as you can tell.

Q990D does not compete with Polks in terms of quality of sound they have good surround but when sound becomes too busy they are not pleasing. On other hand polk is clean and crisp no matter what you play.

I true that, I have Q990F and Polk Magnifi MAX at my parents. And polk is the more refined product here.

The Polk magnifi max ar is a true gem.

I am in the same environment...I have an open living room that wasn't really conducive to rear speakers. I could do it but it would mean running wires through some open areas...and having to cover with conduit. With a 6-year old and 9-year old in the house...that was a disaster waiting to happen...injury or damage:) Over Black Friday and Cyber Monday, I purchased a Samsung Q-800F. Admittedly, it exceeded my expectations and was superior to the older Polk Magnify Max it replaced (failed after a lightning strike sent EMP through the house). I liked it so much I decided to try a refurbished Q-900F (Q-990F w/o rear speakers). It sounds even better. I returned the Q-800F...but it still sounded great for general use. Both systems have good bass (the 900F better because it has two 8" active woofers vs. the 800F single 6.5" woofer and passive 8" radiator). Bass is nice and clean and doesn't overpower dialogue.

I second this. He was actually the one that swayed me to my recent purchase of the Polk Magnifi.

Was looking at the plus myself, but no sub, and no rears for 1000, I couldn't get there. Went Polk magnifi for 600 instead. That ambeo max looks insane tho.

He definitely isn’t biased and adds humor in a cool way. Polk Magnifi is definitely a solid choice. That’s why I love the guy, how many people have you seen do a thorough review on the Polk? Basically Zero, but when enough people leave comments about a certain model he almost always makes a review. Enjoy your Polk Buddy
