Polk is an audio brand, I have this kit and can say it is very good for music. But keep in mind that it has a more "flat" output as in it will not add much EQ and any processing by default (you get much closer output to what the producer intended). I would also say it has much deeper and full sound than mainly consumer brands (Samsung, LG, JBL, etc). If I want to compare the experience it's like my Pioneer DJ headphones - much better to not just listen to music but actually hear and observe every little nuance. No overdrive bass and compressed, lost mid-highs. Other example could be the Denon PearL Pro. Everything just feels better and more full. Hard to describe, but with Samsung, JBL and the likes I always feel that something is missing, even when the sound is good.

It has Spotify Connect and Chromecast as well, I use the latter without issues. Don't have Spotify though. And Bluetooth. Plus it can be added to Google Home (first thing it does when you set it up). For the EQ: it has settings on the remote, you can play around Bass, Treble, High and Voice (+/-). But the basic EQ is pretty flat. It also has some modes, movie, tv music and night (this seems to reduce low frequencies a lot). Voice is surprisingly clear in any mode. I had watched Hans Zimmer: Diamonds in the Desert not long ago, it sounded beautiful. Every single instrument, detail clearly heard. No natter how small. That's when I could truly say I made a good choice :) Connectivity is also pretty good. It has no app (I don't mind that), never had any issues with the sub or surround disconnecting. It takes about 5 secs to make everything connect after being turned on, that's pretty much the only irk (it uses some proprietary tech to wirelessly connect). I had a Yamaha A/V with 2 Polk T50s before running out of space for Atmos upgrade, I would say they do the most of what you can do with a soundbar.

I have the Q990D and the bass is underwhelming. On another note JBL is all bass. I have a Polk Magnifi max sr from 2017 and I was extremely happy with it. Polk has a newer version with Atmos but it's $800usd. Those are the only 3 I personally have experience with. Try and find something used on marketplace. When i was looking on marketplace I found there isn't always a good supply of quality equipment on there. It seems people hang onto the good stuff for a long time.

I second this. He was actually the one that swayed me to my recent purchase of the Polk Magnifi.

Was looking at the plus myself, but no sub, and no rears for 1000, I couldn't get there. Went Polk magnifi for 600 instead. That ambeo max looks insane tho.

He definitely isn’t biased and adds humor in a cool way. Polk Magnifi is definitely a solid choice. That’s why I love the guy, how many people have you seen do a thorough review on the Polk? Basically Zero, but when enough people leave comments about a certain model he almost always makes a review. Enjoy your Polk Buddy

Rank on your shortlist: 1. The Klipsch - though I'm not sure how/where you'll get a 300 for $600. Maybe used on eBay? The Flexus Core 200 would also be a solid choice at #1 2. The Polk Magnifi. Pretty good all round system 3. The Bose I'd recommend one more which I actually would put at #1: the Sennheiser Ambeo mini.
