I was in the market also and did maybe 5 hours of research. My budget was probably similar to yours and I’m sure I looked at every model and site you have seen. This is what I bought: https://www.polkaudio.com/en-us/product/sound-bars/signa-s4d/300732-new.html I got it setup today and I have to say it’s pretty awesome. Very happy and the price is $60 less than Amazon with free shipping from the manufacturer. My understanding is the s4d is the same as the s4 but with a different fabric wrap. It looks awesome. Very substantial feeling and has big sound, although the subwoofer is not hitting like a 10 or 12 would, it still adds a nice depth.
r/Soundbars • Best soundbar for under $250 and should I get a subwoofer? ->I think it’s those 2 satellite speakers. If you want true surround sound you might want those. The polk is Dolby atmos too, so it throws directional sound, but I don’t think you can a sense of its behind you like you can with 5.1 I think this system is also a good deal and probably sounds similar. It could just come down to brand or wattage or what layout you envision for the speakers
r/Soundbars • Best soundbar for under $250 and should I get a subwoofer? ->I have the Hisense soundbar and it sounds great! The only downside for me was the subwoofer. There’s no way for you to adjust the volume of it, so the only way to really hear the subwoofer is by turning up the volume, but that can get loud. I also have the Polk Signa S4D (Aka S4), this is a great 3.1.2 option and you can adjust the sub! If you look into it and decide on Polk, the S4D on Polk’s website is cheaper than the S4, but they’re both the same soundbar. It’s a few years old but it does have Atmos and eArc, and it sounds great! I love it
r/Soundbars • Unsure about which soundbar to roll with ! ->I’ve been very happy with the Polk Signa S4. When I was looking at soundbars, it seemed like the best in my price range and one of the best with a subwoofer but no rear speakers. It sounds great for movies and music, plus the night mode is really nice since I have two shared walls.
r/4kbluray • I'm looking for a Soundbar; If you do use a Soundbar for your TVs, what do you recommend for a person that is fairly new to 4K? ->there are 3.1 soundbars with a separate center channel driver. [Mine's](https://www.rtings.com/soundbar/reviews/polk-audio/signa-s4) an Atmos soundbar (3.1.2)
r/Soundbars • WHY IS DIALOGUE ALWAYS SO DAMN HARD TO HEAR?? ->My first soundbar (Vizio SB3220n) was without a subwoofer- and it was not acceptable. Barely better than the tv speakers- and still a full notch below computer desktop speakers. Actually repurposed a Pioneer HTiB system's bass unit/amp and it was tolerable. I'm on a Polk Signa S4 now. The subwoofer's tiny driver is barely 6" and works great without rattling the room or the downstairs.
r/Soundbars • Best soundbar under $500 WITHOUT Subwoofer. ->I really like the Polk Signa S4 in my bedroom. (3.1.2, no surround speakers or surround option) If you have eARC, it'll take Dolby True HD in addition to Atmos. (no DTS or DTSMA support)
r/Soundbars • Soundbar recommendations without rear speakers ->Hey, I've had the S80QY for about 11 months now and it's been awesome! I love the sound quality for movies, music, and gaming. I use it all the time, sometimes for most of the day. I originally bought the Polk Signa S4, but I didn't like the volume or subwoofer quality, so I returned it and got the LG the next day.
r/Soundbars • LG S80QR does it last? What's your experience? ->Thanks for the detailed warning! I was looking at this at Adorama and the 10 inch sub reaching down deeper than anything we have was tempting, but given everything I heard here and elsewhere I didn’t pull the trigger on it. I went with the Polk Signa S4 as that one seems to be reliable and offer better overall sound quality at the same (discounted) price, it’ll be here in about 2 weeks
r/Soundbars • Is the Klipsch Cinema 400 really THAT bad for reliability? ->That’s really consistently bad, not a good sign at all for that series. Thanks for the heads up, I went with the Polk Signa S4, seems to be a reliable and quality sound option. Might look at the Klipsch Flexus 200 with sub in the future
r/Soundbars • Is the Klipsch Cinema 400 really THAT bad for reliability? ->I have the Polk Magnifi mini ax set up on my PC, with the added rear speakers, and Polk Signa S4 for the main TV. And I have a Bose Soundtouch 300 on a TV in the gym.
r/Soundbars • Which soundbar is better? Polk vs Bose? ->I don’t have the Mini hooked up to an Atmos source, but the surround is very good. Atmos from the Signa is great however.
r/Soundbars • Which soundbar is better? Polk vs Bose? ->if this is a specific issue for you, go for either a high end sony system or a samsung system. samsung has a great dialouge enhancement system starting from the q800 series. in my opinion 200$ isnt getting you very far at all. Palk signa system is good but only if you buy the s4 but it doesnt compare at all to the q800c dialogue enhancement system.
r/Soundbars • Soundbars and hearing loss ->I’ve been happy with a Polk Signa S4 I bought for my cabin’s TV. I’d tend to trust the companies known for audio products like Polk over a company more known for TVs when it comes to soundbars
r/LGOLED • Soundbar recommendations for C4? ->
