The Q6C was one of my absolute favorites from samsungs lineup last year, at that price its hard to beat the quality of that. unless your heart is set on getting rear speakers, then i’d probably say go with the vizio

the soundbar retails around $400 so you’re definitely getting a great price on it, and if you do end up wanting rear speakers for them the 9200s is the model number of them, they’re $150

It’s a pretty good soundbar. I have it in the master bedroom and added the rear speakers which improved it quite a bit. Plenty of thump. Can’t speak to its Atmos quality because I haven’t had opportunity to try it out yet.

If dialogue clarity is the main goal, go for something with a dedicated center channel and a mode that boosts voices. Between the two you mentioned, the Samsung HW-Q600C is the better pick. It’s a 3.1.2 setup with a dedicated center speaker, Samsung’s Adaptive Sound feature that makes speech easier to hear, and it will work perfectly fine over ARC even without eARC. The HW-B750D is okay but not as clear or well-tuned for voices. Other options worth checking out in your budget are the Sony HT-G700, Yamaha SR-C30A or SR-B30A, and the Polk Signa S4, all of which do a great job with dialogue. If you go with the Q600C, make sure Adaptive Sound is turned on and, if needed, increase the center channel level a bit to make voices stand out even more.

So happy to hear this my old surround system died. So I bought the 600c with the BF deal and have been happy with it but been waiting a bit for the back speakers but glad to know it will definitely upgrade it once I splurge on them.

oh yeah that q600c has a terrible issue with latency lmao it had me and my friend for a couple of minutes or an hour trying to fix that since he wanted to plug his Shield TV pro on it to bypass video to his old tv... we had to tinker with the shield and soundbar tools to synchronize audio... it was crazy, almost 2 seconds of delay on movies

I have the q600c and I can’t say the upfiring speakers do much but I also don’t have another soundbar to compare. So maybe there is an overall broader sound because of the upfiring speakers. I wouldn’t worry about the wifi option as you’re right, just run music streaming through your TV and avoid the lower quality bluetooth sound. It’s a lower end soundbar but it’s 20x better than my TV speakers. I moved from a house with a robust 5.1 AVR system to an apartment with this soundbar and I think it’s pretty great and still get that punchy feeling of the audio being presented as was intended.

I just purchased a Samsung HW-Q600C soundbar, on an awesome sale for Black Friday. Out of the box, it is what most reviews say it is: a generally pretty decent mid-range soundbar, with good overall audio quality and a decent sub, but slightly weaker performance with Dolby Atmos, due to the underperforming up-firing “Acoustic Beam” height drivers. For the price I paid, I was honestly pretty happy with it already (especially as I have a smaller apartment, and therefore can’t really justify/fit in a larger, more expensive soundbar. However, just after purchasing the soundbar, I came across a pretty decent deal on the SWA-9200s rear speakers ($97, on Cyber Monday), and figured what the hell, I’ll give them a try. IT. WAS. SO. WORTH IT. I cannot say enough how much I *highly* recommend adding the SWA-9200’s to your setup, if you have the Q600C soundbar. The soundbar is decent enough on its own, but adding the rear speakers to it takes it *to a whole other level*, in terms of sound quality, and overall experience/immersiveness. TBH having experienced it with and without them, I don’t think I can really say the soundbar by itself lets you experience true surround sound (and therefore it has NO way of accurately recreating Dolby Atmos - regardless of the up-firing speakers). However, by adding the rear-channel speakers in (and placing them slightly *higher* than the listening position, to accentuate the height effect), I really believe it turns the system into a *true* 5.1.2 setup! It may still be missing something in the height effect over a system with proper ceiling mounted drivers, but as far as this soundbar goes (and for the price - even at retail), I don’t think you can get much better anywhere, and if you’re thinking of spending *any* money at all on your home theater system, I would go with these, first. I may have gotten mine for a deal, but having heard the system with them now, I think I’d happily pay up to $200-250 for them, and ***absolutely*** would buy them at the typical retail of $148! Anyways just an extra tip, for all you Q600C owners out there, who are wanting a little more out of your system 🙂.

Honestly, the **Yamaha SR-B30A is a hidden gem**! Even more so than the SR-B40A. I bought the SR-B30A ($299/ regular $450) over the holiday to compare it with the Samsung HW-Q600C ($350/ regular $700) that I bought. And I ended up keeping the Yamaha. It performed much better in bass despite only having the built in subwoofer, as compared to the separate subwoofer on the Samsung. The Samsung had better sound separation, as it's a 3.1.2 vs the Yamaha's 2.1 -- but the **Samsung was WAY too tinny**. The Yamaha despite having less channels sounded much richer. The audio from the Samsung was pretty good for movies, though the bass was still a bit lacking, but where it failed miserably was with **MUSIC**. I played with all the settings on the Samsung, which are fairly limited and couldn't get music to sound decent, zero bass... and again, very tinny. The Yamaha sounded almost as good for movies, still much richer sound, but not as clean sound separation -- but for music it sounded much much better than the Samsung -- almost like it was in a different class. The reason I chose the SR-B30A over the SR-B40A is the built in subwoofers **AND it supports an external subwoofer**. So I picked up a wireless Klipsch subwoofer from Costco to pair it with the B30A -- total cost was maybe \~$500 CAD for both the B30A and the Klipsch subwoofer. It's an AWESOME pairing, more bass than you'll really need -- but you can crank it up if you want to physically feel the rumble! And the sound quality and bass from that pairing is way better than any out of the box soundbar/sub combo you can get for $500. CONS The few things I don't like about the Yamaha are, like you said, the fabric vs the metal construction. But I think the fact that really high end speakers use fabric to cover speakers, I think it was a deliberate choice by Yamaha to use fabric over metal for quality of sound purposes! So I think **there's a reason it's using fabric** and it's not to save money! This could be a reason why the Samsung, which was all plastic/metal, sounded very tinny. The other minor things I don't like are it doesn't pair as well with my Samsung TV, which is to be expected. It doesn't show volume level on screen. And the soundbar has no display, only a few lights that blink -- which isn't very intuitive. Samsung wins here.

Top picks (all true Atmos + wireless sub, ≤ 42”) • Vizio M-Series Elevate M512e-K6 (41.38”) — 5.1.2 with included rears + up-firing in the bar. Killer immersion per dollar. • Samsung HW-Q600C (40.6”) — 3.1.2 with up-firing drivers, eARC, and works with Samsung Q-Symphony (your Q90T supports Q-Symphony with compatible bars). Great if you want the TV+bar to play together. • Polk Signa S4 (41.2”) — 3.1.2 with two dedicated up-firing heights; simple, slim, and dialog-friendly. • LG S75Q (35.1”) — Compact 3.1.2 with upward-firing height channels, HDMI eARC, Dolby Vision passthrough. • Bose Smart Soundbar 600 (27.3”) + Bass Module 500 — Small bar with 2 up-firing drivers; add the sub for real low-end. (Sub is separate.)

On Amazon the 9200S have a lot of negative reviews but I think most of it is because it usually happens in Samsung sound bars that the level of each channel is very badly configured, right? It happened to me with the center channel of my HW-Q600C, I had to raise it to +6, I guess with the 9200S I probably have to do the same, right?

Its good value for money especially if you get the rear speakers. Not so good if you're gonna be using it mainly for music. FWIW I recently did an analysis on reddit data on soundbars. Basically ranked them by aggregated sentiment. Maybe you'll find the results helpful. You can filter by price and see what ppl have said about the most often recommended ones [https://redditrecs.com/soundbar/](https://redditrecs.com/soundbar/) If you filter for under $400 the Q600C is currently top

I feel your pain bub, asking for recommendations or help for a budget system in some of these subs is like walking in to a lions den. I asked the same question a couple weeks ago and from what I gathered... the Samsung HW-Q600C soundbar will keep you under $500. Or start investing in an AVR setup with bookshelf speakers to start that'll be better than any soundbar system. For speakers; KEF, Ascend Acoustics, Robersound labs, Chane, Paradigm, or Polk For AVR; Onkyo, Denon, or Yamaha brands are respectable

r/hometheater • Don't buy a sb, but also don't spend under $1,200. Sometimes reading this sub makes no sense. What is the real suggestion for people who want better than built-in tv speakers but can't spend $1,000+? Or even $500+? ->

Hey everyone, Just wanted to share my recent experience switching soundbars and hopefully get some advice too. I originally had the Samsung HW-Q600C paired with my LG C1, and honestly — I loved it. The sound was rich and powerful, with that classic “fat” Samsung audio profile. Even without rear speakers, it felt well-balanced and full, whether I was watching YouTube, live TV, or movies. I only started wondering if it could be better with rear speakers… and that’s when I made a mistake. I upgraded(?) to the LG S70TR thinking rear channels would improve the overall experience. I was so wrong. Yes, the S70TR has rear speakers, but they’re incredibly weak. If I sit perfectly centered between them, I basically can’t hear them at all — it’s like the front center speaker is overpowering everything. If I move even slightly to one side, I only hear that side’s rear speaker and lose the rest. It’s disorienting and completely breaks immersion. Sound quality overall is just meh. The S70TR sounds very midrange-heavy, with none of that deep, rich feel the Samsung had. YouTube videos and live TV — which sounded great on the Q600C — sound flat and lifeless. The only time the LG setup feels immersive is with highly technical, Atmos-optimized movies… and even then, it’s hit or miss. The configuration is also frustrating. If I use TV Sound Mode Share, I can’t adjust balance or levels. If I switch to Sound Bar Mode Control, I get those options — but then I lose Dolby Atmos! 😩 I had Atmos + Dolby Vision working at one point, but after switching some settings, it disappeared and I haven’t been able to get it back. I really regret the switch. The Samsung HW-Q600C may not have had rear speakers, but it sounded better overall and just worked with no headaches. Does anyone have tips to improve the S70TR experience on an LG C1? Any tricks to improve rear speaker clarity or get Atmos + Vision working again? Thanks!

So I bought the Q600C with rears and the Hisense AX5125H and plan on returning one of them. So far we've been more impressed with the Hisense actually. The Samsung does get louder, but being in an apartment, the Hisense is still plenty loud. But the key difference is that Hisense seems much more immersive with its own dedicated rears. The extra rears we had to buy for the Samsung never seem as in sync with the main speakers as the seamless sounding Hisense. Like yes they work and there isnt any audio lag, but the Samsung still feels like separate speakers in comparison with the Hisense. Our rear speaker placement isn't the best though (on top/side of our couches).

I've not had any delay with a 990d on PC using pass through. The q600c I had however was unusable with out of sync pc audio. 990d is fast enough at processing anything that I was able to additionally pass the signal through an earc hdmi/amp splitter before it gets to the sound bar and pass that audio clone through a home cinema receiver to add more subs and a pair of ancient bookshelves as sides before I noticed any sync problems (don't ask I had spare equipment lying around).

Saw your post. Let me reply here itself :D My personal experience is listen yourself and judge. I have listened to Sony Sony HT-S40R and believe me, 600W doesn't sound like one. This is when I listened to it in a small room, even. Personally tested Samsung HW-Q600C. Not impressive. And I don't have budget to spend on 800 series model. Everywhere, almost every single platform, I have just heard good things about the Yamaha YAS-209, even though it was launched in 2019. It's sound signature is still too good. I was about to get it in 22k once, and I missed that chance, and regretting still. I did not hear personally, but even store persons said it's really good. Unfortunately it's not available right now, and the actual MRP is 39k. This LG SC9S was truly good. I did not expect much, but I was impressed. In a large showroom and in length, it sounded just so good. I did not feel that it actually even needs a rear speaker as it's that good. About the rear speakers though, when I asked the showroom executive, he said it's available. I visited a dedicated LG showroom. My only question was about the LG SQ70TY (3.1.1), or maybe now S77TY (3.1.3) as it would save me some 6k. Being price concious, I will put 6k to good use. I just don't want to regret buying something above 20-25k if it sounds shit. So the best thing is: Go and try yourself.

Yes, I checked Samsung model what you have mentioned, and for 24k price I didn't like it much. JBL 2.1 (mk2) deep bass is doing a lot better justice to movie and music experience, and is available at a much cheaper price. Check that as well. You won't like the Samsung anymore.

The Samsung tv will help with center channel with the Q symphony I believe. Prob will not notice much if at all. Samsung as others had said is def a far better bang for your buck. I don’t consider myself an audio expect but I had what I thought was a nice lg 5.1.2 soundbar and the Samsung blows it away. Voice clarity is what shocked me the most. All ranges of sounds are more defined and crisp even when only steaming. 4k Blu-ray Discs up the level another few notches. There are a bunch of posts on this subreddit explaining how to save a bunch of money ordering some Samsung directly if you choose to go with that soundbar

I’ve had the sennheiser ambeo, Bose smart ultra, and the Samsung q800, in that order. First two were returned for connectivity issues with my newish Samsung tv. The q800 has been great (the ambeo probably had the best surround but only if it connected). Q symphony is amazing. With the first two bars, you could clearly tell the sound was coming from below the TV… q symphony fixes that completely. And the subwoofer is amazing.

Get the Sonos system. Samsung is terrible at support. Further you can buy the Sonos components from Costco. At least most of them. Return policy is quite generous as you probably know. Don’t be tempted by the Samsung pricing. It’s just not as good or reliable as the Sonos systems. He’ll even the JBL soundbar systems have better sound than the Q series.
