"IT. WAS. SO. WORTH IT. ... I cannot say enough how much I *highly* recommend adding the SWA-9200’s to your setup, if you have the Q600C soundbar. ... The soundbar is decent enough on its own, but adding the rear speakers to it takes it *to a whole other level*, in terms of sound quality, and overall experience/immersiveness. ... by adding the rear-channel speakers in (and placing them slightly *higher* than the listening position, to accentuate the height effect), I really believe it turns the system into a *true* 5.1.2 setup! ... as far as this soundbar goes (and for the price - even at retail), I don’t think you can get much better anywhere"
"it has definitely made me watch more things on the TV because it sounds very nice for such a small cost. ... I think this bar does a very good job of that. ... "heck yes, get the rear speakers, even if you can’t actually place them behind you! ... I guarantee it is ***absolutely*** worth the time, effort, and money to get the rear speakers, even if you don't have much room to place them *technically* correctly, behind your couch, as they will still add a whole other *dimension* of sound to your sound system, and really increase the immersiveness of the experience."

"if you have a larger room, i would suggest to buy others with more channels and higher specs. ... The difference beteween q600 and q800 is substantial, specially if you have a large room. ... you are definitely sacrificing some experience develivered by q800."
The difference beteween q600 and q800 is substantial, specially if you have a large room. I'm not saying the q600 is not worth, but you are definitely sacrificing some experience develivered by q800. In my opinion the price difference is worth the quality difference. But if you are low on budget q600 is not a bad entry level soundbar.
r/Soundbars • Soundbar Recommendations ->I picked up the Samsung HW-Q6CC from Walmart for $199 and have been very happy with it. It has a sub but it is wireless so you can put it anywhere in the room or store it in a closet and just bring it out for special viewings. I have limited experience with soundbars and it definitely isn't as good as the full setup in the media room but it has definitely made me watch more things on the TV because it sounds very nice for such a small cost.
r/Soundbars • Recommendations in $250-350 price range? ->I think this bar does a very good job of that. I grabbed it out of urgency as I was at my folk's place and we were going to watch a movie but the TV speakers were terrible so I needed something inexpensive that I could pick up immediately. I was very pleasantly surprised at how nice it sounded so brought it home to our house and have been using it in the family room.
r/Soundbars • Recommendations in $250-350 price range? ->From what the specs looks like of these bars. Q6cc is the best one for the price but you just can’t beat the feeling of a 5.1 bar. Way more soundstage although it can’t decode Dolby Atmos though… Just found a Q600c for less than $300 on eBay. That one would be superior even though it’s 3.1.2 too because it has up firing speakers and the ability to pair the 9200s for 5.1. A friend has it and for the price that bass is great
r/Soundbars • Best Soundbar Under $300 to pair with LG C4? ->oh yeah that q600c has a terrible issue with latency lmao it had me and my friend for a couple of minutes or an hour trying to fix that since he wanted to plug his Shield TV pro on it to bypass video to his old tv... we had to tinker with the shield and soundbar tools to synchronize audio... it was crazy, almost 2 seconds of delay on movies
r/Soundbars • Is RTINGS.com known to have a special thing for Samsung HW-Q990D? Or is Q990D this formidable? ->The Q6C was one of my absolute favorites from samsungs lineup last year, at that price its hard to beat the quality of that. unless your heart is set on getting rear speakers, then i’d probably say go with the vizio
r/Soundbars • Please help me pick out a soundbar from what is at my local Walmart. Was leaning towards Vizio I have a Vizio tv and like it. ->the soundbar retails around $400 so you’re definitely getting a great price on it, and if you do end up wanting rear speakers for them the 9200s is the model number of them, they’re $150
r/Soundbars • Please help me pick out a soundbar from what is at my local Walmart. Was leaning towards Vizio I have a Vizio tv and like it. ->It’s a pretty good soundbar. I have it in the master bedroom and added the rear speakers which improved it quite a bit. Plenty of thump. Can’t speak to its Atmos quality because I haven’t had opportunity to try it out yet.
r/Soundbars • Advice ->Yep for $200 at Walmart a few weeks ago. The good thing is, If you don’t like it you can always return it. It has a pretty accurate review over on rtings - https://www.rtings.com/soundbar/reviews/samsung/hw-q60c-q6cc
r/Soundbars • Advice ->yeah man... visited multiple shops before i got my q600c...
r/Soundbars • Please Help me Choose the best one for ₹10000 (INR) ->I've got myself a q600c and I'm quite happy with it. Waiting for rears to upgrade it
r/Soundbars • Best soundbar under $300? ->So happy to hear this my old surround system died. So I bought the 600c with the BF deal and have been happy with it but been waiting a bit for the back speakers but glad to know it will definitely upgrade it once I splurge on them.
r/Soundbars • Tip for Samsung Q600C Owners: BUY the Rear Speakers!!! ->I have the q600c and I can’t say the upfiring speakers do much but I also don’t have another soundbar to compare. So maybe there is an overall broader sound because of the upfiring speakers. I wouldn’t worry about the wifi option as you’re right, just run music streaming through your TV and avoid the lower quality bluetooth sound. It’s a lower end soundbar but it’s 20x better than my TV speakers. I moved from a house with a robust 5.1 AVR system to an apartment with this soundbar and I think it’s pretty great and still get that punchy feeling of the audio being presented as was intended.
r/Soundbars • Are up-firing speakers in soundbars a gimmick? (Or Samsung HW-Q60C vs HW-Q600B) ->I just purchased a Samsung HW-Q600C soundbar, on an awesome sale for Black Friday. Out of the box, it is what most reviews say it is: a generally pretty decent mid-range soundbar, with good overall audio quality and a decent sub, but slightly weaker performance with Dolby Atmos, due to the underperforming up-firing “Acoustic Beam” height drivers. For the price I paid, I was honestly pretty happy with it already (especially as I have a smaller apartment, and therefore can’t really justify/fit in a larger, more expensive soundbar. However, just after purchasing the soundbar, I came across a pretty decent deal on the SWA-9200s rear speakers ($97, on Cyber Monday), and figured what the hell, I’ll give them a try. IT. WAS. SO. WORTH IT. I cannot say enough how much I *highly* recommend adding the SWA-9200’s to your setup, if you have the Q600C soundbar. The soundbar is decent enough on its own, but adding the rear speakers to it takes it *to a whole other level*, in terms of sound quality, and overall experience/immersiveness. TBH having experienced it with and without them, I don’t think I can really say the soundbar by itself lets you experience true surround sound (and therefore it has NO way of accurately recreating Dolby Atmos - regardless of the up-firing speakers). However, by adding the rear-channel speakers in (and placing them slightly *higher* than the listening position, to accentuate the height effect), I really believe it turns the system into a *true* 5.1.2 setup! It may still be missing something in the height effect over a system with proper ceiling mounted drivers, but as far as this soundbar goes (and for the price - even at retail), I don’t think you can get much better anywhere, and if you’re thinking of spending *any* money at all on your home theater system, I would go with these, first. I may have gotten mine for a deal, but having heard the system with them now, I think I’d happily pay up to $200-250 for them, and ***absolutely*** would buy them at the typical retail of $148! Anyways just an extra tip, for all you Q600C owners out there, who are wanting a little more out of your system 🙂.
r/Soundbars • Tip for Samsung Q600C Owners: BUY the Rear Speakers!!! ->Honestly, the **Yamaha SR-B30A is a hidden gem**! Even more so than the SR-B40A. I bought the SR-B30A ($299/ regular $450) over the holiday to compare it with the Samsung HW-Q600C ($350/ regular $700) that I bought. And I ended up keeping the Yamaha. It performed much better in bass despite only having the built in subwoofer, as compared to the separate subwoofer on the Samsung. The Samsung had better sound separation, as it's a 3.1.2 vs the Yamaha's 2.1 -- but the **Samsung was WAY too tinny**. The Yamaha despite having less channels sounded much richer. The audio from the Samsung was pretty good for movies, though the bass was still a bit lacking, but where it failed miserably was with **MUSIC**. I played with all the settings on the Samsung, which are fairly limited and couldn't get music to sound decent, zero bass... and again, very tinny. The Yamaha sounded almost as good for movies, still much richer sound, but not as clean sound separation -- but for music it sounded much much better than the Samsung -- almost like it was in a different class. The reason I chose the SR-B30A over the SR-B40A is the built in subwoofers **AND it supports an external subwoofer**. So I picked up a wireless Klipsch subwoofer from Costco to pair it with the B30A -- total cost was maybe \~$500 CAD for both the B30A and the Klipsch subwoofer. It's an AWESOME pairing, more bass than you'll really need -- but you can crank it up if you want to physically feel the rumble! And the sound quality and bass from that pairing is way better than any out of the box soundbar/sub combo you can get for $500. CONS The few things I don't like about the Yamaha are, like you said, the fabric vs the metal construction. But I think the fact that really high end speakers use fabric to cover speakers, I think it was a deliberate choice by Yamaha to use fabric over metal for quality of sound purposes! So I think **there's a reason it's using fabric** and it's not to save money! This could be a reason why the Samsung, which was all plastic/metal, sounded very tinny. The other minor things I don't like are it doesn't pair as well with my Samsung TV, which is to be expected. It doesn't show volume level on screen. And the soundbar has no display, only a few lights that blink -- which isn't very intuitive. Samsung wins here.
r/Soundbars • Why aren't people talking about the Yamaha SR-B30A/SR-B40A soundbars more? They both seem to be great value soundbars. ->On Amazon the 9200S have a lot of negative reviews but I think most of it is because it usually happens in Samsung sound bars that the level of each channel is very badly configured, right? It happened to me with the center channel of my HW-Q600C, I had to raise it to +6, I guess with the 9200S I probably have to do the same, right?
r/Soundbars • Tip for Samsung Q600C Owners: BUY the Rear Speakers!!! ->I have a q990d in the living room, which replaced my old 6.1 Bose speakers (not a typo, 6.1), it was significantly better, specifically for dialog. Then I bought a q600c for my bedroom, which was an huge upgrade on an old Samsung TV. I didn’t want the rear speakers, since I don’t have the space for them, and I wanted to be able to connect a player (for plex) directly to the bar and have atmos (the q600c has up firing speakers). Is it as good for atmos? No, but I think it is a good compromise for the $.
r/Soundbars • Are soundbars without rear speakers worth it? ->I recently gifted my dad q600c which costed me around 250 usd. It’s a pretty good soundbar if you can find it in this price range.
r/Soundbars • Best soundbar for $200 USD ->I just got the Q600C soundbar and looking to buy the rear speakers. Anyone knows if the 9500s are compatible with this soundbar? On the samsung website seems that only the 9200s are compatible but was wondering if anyone ever tried this combination.
r/Soundbars • Tip for Samsung Q600C Owners: BUY the Rear Speakers!!! ->Thanks for the details. Bought the q600c with a 65" s90d a couple weeks ago, and ordered the back speakers with stands yesterday. Small apartment, so similar setup.
r/Soundbars • Tip for Samsung Q600C Owners: BUY the Rear Speakers!!! ->So I bought the Q600C with rears and the Hisense AX5125H and plan on returning one of them. So far we've been more impressed with the Hisense actually. The Samsung does get louder, but being in an apartment, the Hisense is still plenty loud. But the key difference is that Hisense seems much more immersive with its own dedicated rears. The extra rears we had to buy for the Samsung never seem as in sync with the main speakers as the seamless sounding Hisense. Like yes they work and there isnt any audio lag, but the Samsung still feels like separate speakers in comparison with the Hisense. Our rear speaker placement isn't the best though (on top/side of our couches).
r/Soundbars • Tip for Samsung Q600C Owners: BUY the Rear Speakers!!! ->Dang I was originally set on getting the rears, but when I tried the soundbar I was blown away by the sound just without the rears. So I wasn't determined to pick them up. But, this post has me thinking otherwise again lol
r/Soundbars • Tip for Samsung Q600C Owners: BUY the Rear Speakers!!! ->I've not had any delay with a 990d on PC using pass through. The q600c I had however was unusable with out of sync pc audio. 990d is fast enough at processing anything that I was able to additionally pass the signal through an earc hdmi/amp splitter before it gets to the sound bar and pass that audio clone through a home cinema receiver to add more subs and a pair of ancient bookshelves as sides before I noticed any sync problems (don't ask I had spare equipment lying around).
r/Soundbars • Is RTINGS.com known to have a special thing for Samsung HW-Q990D? Or is Q990D this formidable? ->I just bought it and it did come with an HDMI cable for the eARC port, but no optic or anything else. Maybe they changed their mind.
r/Soundbars • Samsung HW-Q600C - Any good? ->Q600c or vizio elevate SE if you are wanting atmos. Polk has atmos but only pseudo-atmos in their lower end models. upfiring drivers are not really polks thing. I believe only one of their bars has upfiring and the rest of them are pseudo-atmos.
r/Soundbars • Polk audio soundbars ->Nice, I got my Q600C for £99 brand new last week so was thinking about the rears too - glad someone has had a good experience as that may sway me.
r/Soundbars • Tip for Samsung Q600C Owners: BUY the Rear Speakers!!! ->I was in the same exact position. I ordered a Samsung TV and HW-Q600C soundbar "for fun" in the beginning of this month. Liked the concept so much but returned both to get better models. What I can say based on my countless hours of research: as of now, the best "budget" but decent quality system is hw-q600c especially if you can get some used version on Amazon or eBay. The next best system for money is a used / renewed HW-QS730D. This is basically an improved version of the q600c with a better subwoofer, Wi-Fi and FLAC/ALAC support, as well as AirPlay 2 and others. I've realized how important wifi is for loseless streaming. You can't just do it on BT, have to use HDMI. If you want to know what I ended up with: I've found an HW-Q800D for $370 on eBay from a reputable seller. It's used, but turned out to be like new. I guess enthusiasts here would say it's a steal. I am impressed with the quality of this tech. Good luck! Added: I see you're concerned about design. Look up hw-s800b and related. Used of course if you want to save up a noticeable amount!
