Oh yes, stranger things will definitely work with a decent bar. There are cheaper options available but the audio quality from a 150 bar to a 300 bar is significant. The next big leap is around the 800-1000$ mark. In my opinion, all these are pretty decent ones to pair with an apartment tv. Here is the samsung one as well for 269 https://www.walmart.com/ip/SAMSUNG-Q-series-3-1ch-Dolby-ATMOS-Soundbar-with-Q-Symphony-HW-Q6CC/1418533890?classType=REGULAR&athbdg=L1300&from=/search And if you're really budget conscious. Nothing beats this deal, i just saw it on walmart. 149$ https://www.walmart.com/ip/Hisense-3-1-Channel-380W-Soundbar-with-Wireless-Subwoofer-and-Dolby-Atmos-R632/5685267821?adsRedirect=true
Picked up a Samsung Q6CC (Walmart version of the Q60C, 2023 model) for $199 on sale (normally $379) and it’s really good for the price. 3.1 with the ability to add rear speakers later for a 5.1. Gets plenty loud and after some slight tuning sub sounds good and balanced. Only criticism is the wall mount is absolutely terrible and causes it to sag if you’re not mounting into two studs. I made it work by bending the metal plate backwards and it looks good enough imo. Let me know if you have any questions. https://www.walmart.com/ip/1418533890?sid=0781b79b-c815-4c62-9edd-7608ef22bc1c
I just got the SAMSUNG Q-series 3.1ch. Dolby ATMOS Soundbar with Q-Symphony HW-Q6CC from Walmart. It’s currently on sale for $199. I’m happy with it.
I'd felt the same way. I was upgrading from a Yamaha YAS108 which had started to cut out. Bought a Vizio and immediately repackaged it and returned. Sound was funny and it just didn't feel rich. Bought a Samsung Q6cc and then added rear surrounds for under $200 and I'm absolutely blown away by the fidelity of the system. The sound is full, rich, and dialogue is crystal clear. I have no idea why anyone would opt for a full theater system over one of these today.
That much different? Wow. I recently entered the soundbar era with a Q6CC which was on sale at Walmart. Added the rears and I'm absolutely blown away. I actually just want to sit and watch TV shows and movies. Many on repeat because it sounds so insanely good and I'm coming from a Yamaha soundbar which was just an all in one bar. I'm still getting used to the sub being next to my couch. I can't place the sub next to the TV so the audio can feel a little weird and disjointed. But once you're into the movie, man it sounds awesome
I bought the Samsung Q6CC 3.1 bar from Walmart, then quickly added the rear surrounds and it is insane how good it sounds. All for under $250. Traditionalists came in and were astounded. Guilty looks on all their faces as to why they had to through the entire expensive process of installing their 5.1 and 7.1 systems.
Samsung has a much stronger history of soundbars and are among the best with the 990 series. I myself had the Q600Cwith the 9200s surrounds and it was great and currently have the Q60C in my living room. The Onn 5.1.2 is definitely good at its $199 price but I would trust Samsung more if you are willing to pay a little bit more
The q symphony is hard to notice if I am being honest. Not because it isnt good, it seems decent, but I had a 5.1 Logitech PC system before. The THX was nice but 11 speakers of Atmos is so amazing that adding 4 is like putting chocolate fudge on a chocolate bar after just eating vanilla wafers for years. Its richer and you cant say no, but the chocolate bar would have already been more than enough at this point. And yeah, I pushed to 30 for a bit and it was a lot in most cases. Went to 50 for fun and started getting worried I may blow a speaker out haha.
A soundbar is always an improvement, even if your room was 3 square meters. That is to say, Samsung soundbars are very good, but don't count on Q Symphony. It has an echo on Dolby Atmos content and almost all content is Dolby Atmos nowadays. You'll probably just not use the TV speakers at all. You definitely have no use for a flagship soundbar with rear speakers, like the Q990F in such a room, or any bedroom, for that matter. But depending on whether you want and have space a dedicated subwoofer or not, yiu can either get one of those Samsung soundbars with a dedicated sub, or an HW-S60D, which doesn't have one and will lack punchy bass, but will still provide a much better sound than the TV. It's also super small, so it will fit on any width of a cabinet. All soundbars are designed to be able to sit on the TV's pedestal stand, so don't worry about that either. P.S. Soon a standalone Samsung soundbar with an internal subwoofer, kind of Sonos-style, will be released. But it will probably be wider than your TV and cost as much as the Q990H flagship, so you might not be interested in that.
I agree with all of you, q995f is amazing. I so happy with my setup and I’ve tried q symphony but it’s not for me. This soundbar makes it on its own
