Yeah Samsung q800 or q900 series are both stellar for dialogue. I hated the older Samsungs for dialogue, but anything b, c, d or newer in those ranges are awesome with dialogue, even when you don’t turn on the voice enhancement. My q990b is fantastic for voice clarity even in action movies at any volume.
r/Soundbars • Which soundbars do you have real-world experience with, or have reliable info about , that help with dialogue clarity? ->Get samsung hw q800 very worth it
r/Soundbars • Worth getting a soundbar here? ->Soundbars (high tier) nowadays are very good. Although. But if you really appreciate surround sound and/or music I would recommend at least a 3.1 system+AVR instead. I was never pleased with my Samsung Q800 soundbar, so I went back to regular speakers again and couldn't be happier.
r/LGOLED • I need suggestions with soundbars ->Q800 and Q990 are both the absolute best price/perf in their respective categories. Are they the best thing singe bread came sliced? No. Are they the best package you can buy in their price ranges? Absolutely.
r/Soundbars • Is the Samsung HW-Q990F/D/C that good or it's just a "Reddit" hype thing? ->Get at least. 3.1 bar. I like the Samsung q600f for it's value. It's enough. It's good. It's a hell of a lot better than the tv speakers. Something like the q000f will blow you away without being too bulky. But it's double. Split the difference with the q800. I quite like the Samsung bars. Sony's good but expensive and piecemail. I don't really like their sub and bar combo ones. Some with sonos or bose. Nice but expensive and piecemail. TCL and Hisense have stuff but I've never heard it. But also haven't heard discussion about it. I like JBL. But their bars are just too bass heavy and the mids aren't great. Lg's not bad either. But Samsung is my choice
r/Soundbars • best soundbar ->I’ve had the sennheiser ambeo, Bose smart ultra, and the Samsung q800, in that order. First two were returned for connectivity issues with my newish Samsung tv. The q800 has been great (the ambeo probably had the best surround but only if it connected). Q symphony is amazing. With the first two bars, you could clearly tell the sound was coming from below the TV… q symphony fixes that completely. And the subwoofer is amazing.
r/Soundbars • Has Bose lost its crown? ->I had the same problem with the hw q800 series 3 years ago. Had a hw q600 series soundbar and sub that sub was way punchier than the big one. I had found a way to download a bass test somewhere to see if it was me or sub just underwhelming. Turned out the latter, returned it and got a refund. Some reviews of the q990d say the same, others don't for some reason.
r/Soundbars • Samsung Q990D disappointing? ->At a minimum get the samsung q800. Movies with Disney, prime and apple TV sounds great on surround sound. Unfortunately Netflix wants to ridiculously charge for 4k and dolby surround. Like 29 a month
r/Soundbars • How much better is a soundbar compared to the TV speakers? ->Q800 I have them and then added rear and was even better
r/Soundbars • What soundbar without rear speakers (no space for them behind couch)? ->If the Q990 doesn't fit, don't force it. I will say that the 9500s rears that you can purchase are decent, but NOT the same speakers that you get with the Q990. I would 100% buy a Q990 for future proofing just for the improved rears, even if I didn't use them for awhile. Alternatively, but the Q800 now (I love mine), and then upgrade to the Q990 when the time comes. it's not going to kill you - you can always repurpose the Q800 to another room or sell it to get a bit of $ back.
r/Soundbars • Q990D or Q800D? (I have no space for rear speakers) ->I'm gonna assume you're in US, you can get Q700 or even Q800 at around $350-$400 depending on your luck. Too bad you just missed out on massive Christmas sale. (Don't bother about the latest D model, unless you absolutely need some minor feature upgrade. You can get C or B model cheaply if you're lucky.) I highly recommend mid range Samsung soundbars just because their surround expansion kit is massively cheaper than any competitors. You can get SWA-9500S rear speaker set later for around $150-$200 depending on your luck. Even if you don't plan to upgrade with surround kit later, they are still solid overall.
