In Germany, Samsung basically offers two series of soundbars, the S series and the Q series. You can buy each soundbar with a subwoofer and with a subwoofer and a set of rear speakers. The main difference between S series and Q series is the size of the soundbar itself. The S series has a soundbar which is about two inches high and about 1.5 inches thick. They call it "ultra slim". The Q series has a bigger, thicker soundbar, which has speakers which aim at the ceiling (Dolby Atmos). So, if design is more important than sound, go for the S series. There is one important thing to know: Samsung offers both the Q series and the S series with two different lengths of the soundbar. The shorter soundbar is suited for the smaller TV sets (55'' and smaller), the longer soundbar is recommended for screens 65'' and up. This is mainly a design thing, because the longer soundbar would look weird under a smaller screen. However, the longer soundbars contain more speakers. I bought a Samsung HW-S 710 soundbar for my 55'' The Frame. Initial setup was pretty easy. The subwoofer connects wirelessly to the soundbar. In theory you can put it anywhere in the room. I put it under the TV, right in the middle. The soundbar can connect to the TV via Bluetooth and via WiFi - and I found both to be troublesome. When connecting via bluetooth, the TV had synchronization issues between picture and sound. When connecting via WiFi, my soundbar had brief, but continuous sound interruptions. So I chose the third option and connected TV and soundbar with a so called eARC HDMI cable (included with the soundbar). This delivered sound without problems. There is another thing to consider: Q-Symphony. This is a sound mode where the TV set combines sound from its own speakers with sound from the soundbar. It is my impression that pure music is played better and more accurate by the soundbar alone, while TV shoes and movies get a better sound experience via Q-Symphony. Q-Symphony does not work with bluetooth, only with WLAN or cable. Another advantage: The soundbar is completely integrated into the TV user interface. The TV set switches on and off the soundbar, volume and sound settings can be adjusted with the TV remote control. The soundbar comes with an own remote control, but you do not need it with a Samsung TV. My old 32'' tv set had a cinch output for sound and was connected to an analog stereo amplifier and a set of two B&W high fidelity speakers, each three feet high. Without any doubt these speakers were superior to what I have now. But all in all I do not regret buying my Samsung soundbar. It delivers a very good TV sound, a very precise stage and a decent surround effect. And the soundbar is Apple AirPlay compatible, so I can use it as a streaming device for listening to music from my iPhone - without having to turn on the TV. So, I have a TV set which looks like a painting on the wall - and a stereo set which is hardly visible, just audible. This is what I wanted. I'd like to mention one drawback of the Samsung soundbars. If you look at PR images of The Frame, you always see a frame at the wall, a soundbar mounted at the wall below the frame - and no cables. This is slightly unfair. The soundbar needs quite a thick power cable, the subwoofer needs a power cable as well, and if you connect the soundbar to the TV set via cable, this is another thick, black cable. Samsung has made quite some efforts to avoid obtrusive cables with The Frame, there is only one thin, silver fiber cable running from the frame to the connect box. Compared to that the cables for the soundbar are not very subtle. I did not mount the soundbar to the wall (although wall mounts were included). I have a lowboard under the TV, and I put the connect box and the subwoofer in the lowboard. The soundbarblies flat on the top of the lowboard, and the cables are hidden behind the lowboard.

We have a 2024, 40in. Which we tried with Apple TV and two mini HomePod as sound, and as stand alone ( no extra loudspeakers) then we tried the Samsung HW-S711D/XE w. Subwoofer (white) and with Q-symphony it is great!

If you get a Samsung soundbar with Q Symphony that will add an extra dimension to your system that you won't get if you choose another brand

r/Soundbars • A Best Buy employee recommended the Sony S400. They didn’t mention the Samsung one and I already bought the Sony. Is it a big difference? ->

FYI, I already had the Samsung soundbar when TV shopping. I thought it would be kool to have the Samsung TV to use with the Samsung soundbar- Q Symphony, but in the end it wasnt enough for me to not get the G4.

r/LGOLED • What is the best soundbar for LG G4? I think of S80TR, is it good? Also will there be a real difference compared to inbuilt speakers ? Thanks! ->
