That will be the best one for its price point. It has the up firing speakers which help give spatial audio while still being a reasonable price.

The best option for the Samsung TV specifically would be either the Q600C or the Q730D. They both use Q-Symphony (uses soundbar and tv speakers for fuller sound), and they can both be controlled through one remote/app (Samsung Smart things).

Go for q800d, even i am from India and been researching alot about it and with all the choices available to us q800d seems to be perfect option for you, plus one if you add rear speakers in the future. I bought q600c because i didnt have budget for 800d

Actually amazon f***ed my order. They sent me some cheap ass samsung speaker instead. Be cautious if you are ordering from amazon and shoot a video if you can of delivery. And if you have a samsung tv with q symphony then its a no brainer to go with q series.

I just bought q600c from reliance digital for 25k and paired with my samsung tv it will be 5.1.2 which is great given the price point. So if you have a budget for q800d then go for it because of its upgraded sub and dedicated side and upfiring speakers, if not then its a no brainer to go with 600c if you have q symphony compatibe tv.

Not really, just turn down the volume. I think anything more than a 3.1.2 soundbar is overkill for this setup, however if you have the budget I'd recommend upfiring speakers as they can create sound above the soundbar, essentially making it seem more like the sound comes from the monitor instead of below it. Something like the Q600C/D/F.

Ive just got the Q600C in a sale, at the same price of the SB580. But not arrived yet. For what I saw, the Q600C seems to be a better overhall. Have display that the SB580 does not have. And some people say that the SB580 does not have a very loud volume.

Definitely a Samsung Q600C (or D). Tried many before, even LGS75Q, and there's no challenge really. The soundbar alone is more than capable of delivering an awesome and immersive sound experience, plus you can buy a pair of satellites separately as rear speakers.

From what the specs looks like of these bars. Q6cc is the best one for the price but you just can’t beat the feeling of a 5.1 bar. Way more soundstage although it can’t decode Dolby Atmos though… Just found a Q600c for less than $300 on eBay. That one would be superior even though it’s 3.1.2 too because it has up firing speakers and the ability to pair the 9200s for 5.1. A friend has it and for the price that bass is great

have you seen the q600c for less than $250 currently? i don't have access to that info now but you might, you buy the rears for around $90 bucks and you have a system that can output Atmos but budget atmos and thats better than no Atmos in my book like if you choose the 2 options you mentioned. The sub works great in not so big rooms and you stated it wont be used loud.

oh yeah that q600c has a terrible issue with latency lmao it had me and my friend for a couple of minutes or an hour trying to fix that since he wanted to plug his Shield TV pro on it to bypass video to his old tv... we had to tinker with the shield and soundbar tools to synchronize audio... it was crazy, almost 2 seconds of delay on movies

yeah one homepod is going to beat the q600c lol but id say the 600c will have like %30 more bass because of the dedicated sub.... but having two homepods? youre almost getting into (virtual) 5.1 audio... i had the chance to try the 600c because a friend found it for like $130 on clearance and i was surprised how loud the homepod was next to it. but i have to be objective, 2 homepods are close to $400 right, the pair of rears for the 600c are around $97 and that would give you proper surround effects if you're into that so youd have to choose.

the q900c doesnt have rears only a sub, the q990c has rears but its essentially the same bar... but yeah, a q600c would be better quality since its a somewhat of a consensus that LG bars suck so the cheapest Q series should do the trick, a friend got it and it surprised me.

I feel you on that. I’m meeting up to buy Q600C for $160 from marketplace but it’s always feels sketchy making the exchange. I have a portable power bank that has a plug so if it passes the Bluetooth test, I think it’s a solid buy. I picked one up for $185 recently and ended up returning it. For $80 I might have kept it though. Can't adjust individual channels including sub (you can adjust bass and treble though), EQ doesn't have an off or normal/passthrough mode. The static from the rear speakers is ultimately what made me return it. Some folks recommend using ferrite beads on the cable ends to help with the static but I didn't want to deal with it. Got a good deal on open box Samsung Q600c and 9200s rears and I've been much happier. For $80 though I'd say it's worth the time and small expense of trying to remedy the static.

I was in the same exact position. I ordered a Samsung TV and HW-Q600C soundbar "for fun" in the beginning of this month. Liked the concept so much but returned both to get better models.  What I can say based on my countless hours of research: as of now, the best "budget" but decent quality system is hw-q600c especially if you can get some used version on Amazon or eBay.  The next best system for money is a used / renewed HW-QS730D. This is basically an improved version of the q600c with a better subwoofer, Wi-Fi and FLAC/ALAC support, as well as AirPlay 2 and others. I've realized how important wifi is for loseless streaming. You can't just do it on BT, have to use HDMI.  If you want to know what I ended up with: I've found an HW-Q800D for $370 on eBay from a reputable seller. It's used, but turned out to be like new. I guess enthusiasts here would say it's a steal. I am impressed with the quality of this tech.  Good luck! Added: I see you're concerned about design. Look up hw-s800b and related. Used of course if you want to save up a noticeable amount!

Bought both of them. Q600c is definitely better in terms the clarity of the sound. So if you watch movies, it’s probably a better choice. The bass however is slightly weak on Samsung, you probably wont notice that unless you compare it side by side with JBL. Having that said, Jbl is not at all bad with vocal clarity and bass quality can blow Samsung out of water. I returned Samsung

I visited the store yesterday. Unfortunately, they didn’t allow me to update the firmware on the Q85H. I compared it with the Samsung HW-Q600C, and even one of Samsung's lower-end models sounds more interesting... I'm leaning towards getting a Samsung, but a slightly higher-end model. It wasn’t available in the store, only by special order. Maybe in the future, I’ll switch to a TCL soundbar after they fix their bugs. I don’t understand how Rtings could give such outstanding ratings to the TCL soundbar. :(

It does put you over your price if you get the rear speakers for the Samsung Q600C, but I will say I enjoy having it in my small bedroom to accompany it (room roughly around 120 sqft, average height ceiling). How large is the room you're intending to play it in? I play my PS5 on a Hisense U8H and have the soundbar connected via HDMI. Have not had the need to push the volume past level 20 for respect to the rest of the house. Might be closer to level 25 if I didn't have the rear speakers, but they aren't particularly loud to begin with and add more to the soundbar than anything.

Pretty good outside of the very occasional audio dropout that might last a second (although usually I can go through a whole movie without it ever happening). It's certainly a bass-heavy system. I usually have my treble set to +2, bass at -3 or -4, and subwoofer at -4 or -5 when watching movies. Getting the SWA-9200S rear speakers was a good investment to go with the system. I usually have my rear speakers set to +4. For sure the Q600C is a BIG upgrade over my previous 2015 Samsung HW-J355 2.1 system.

Personally, I'd say it's between either the Ambeo or the Flexus. I'd say skip the Arc Ultra. I've heard it's mainly just the Arc with more bass, but very similar performance all around. Samsung is a solid choice, but Samsung has never truly "wowed" me before, & I've had 3 with the HW-Q6CR, Q600C, & the best I've had the Q800B. It was a solid system all around, but again, nothing really blew me away. & I sometimes found the subwoofer to be a bit overpowering, even at -6. & Also the Q800's have everything the Q900's have except less front channels & 1 less side channel. But the subwoofer is practically damn near the same. Sony ive heard mixed reviews about the Bravia bars, but until Sony releases new subwoofers, I can't recommend anyone buying Sony. I have the S2000 + SW5 & Even the SW5 subwoofer is terribly underwhelming for the price from my experience. Now I currently have the Core 200 myself + the sub 100. I have no complaints with this system at all, which is something I've never said about a soundbar before & I've had a lot anywhere from the Sonos Arc, Bose 600, few JBL'S, & others. I will admit the Bose 600 + BM700 setup I had is quite a contender as my favorite. But I think I'd lean a bit more to the Klipsch system in a blind test. There's just something about how full I think it sounds to me. But then you look at the price difference compared to performance difference, and the Klipsch feels like a much better deal. There's a deal I saw on Amazon for the Core 200, + Surr 100's, + 2 Sub 100's for 1k which seems like a steal to me. Now the Ambeo on the other hand is a fantastic SOUNDING system, possibly the best I've heard with the level of detail it has. But I've read quite a bit about bugs in the system so it's possibly kinda a hit or miss. I haven't had a single issue at all with my Flexus system. & I think the subwoofers are probably better on the Flexus system too considering you can buy either a 10" or 12" while Sennheiser only offers an 8". & Another con of the Sennheiser is there's no rears offered which is quite shocking. So my vote is the Flexus system!

Flexus Core 200 by LITERAL MILES!!! I have no experience with the apple home pod. Had the Q600C briefly, bar sounds alright but the subwoofer sounds like shit. Had the JBL Bar 500 & it was just a sloppy system all around, crappy subwoofer & distorted bar. & The Beam 2 is eh. Quite weak & very dull sounding. If I can comfortably listen to a movie at 60%+ volume, that sucks in my book. Hell I even had it at 100% in my bedroom before & I was just like "that's all this things got???" I also thought the Arc was too soft for me as well. The Core 200 bar by itself is just fantastic! 2 4" subwoofers that really hit hard. It's such a full sounding bar it's amazing! Dialogue enhancement works pretty well too if needed, + a 3 band bass mid & treble equalizer. Choice of either the Sub 100 or Sub 200 (10" or 12") & you can run 2 subs regardless of which sub you buy, unlike Sonos where you can't run 2 sub minis, only 2 full size subwoofers. I sold my Arc, Era 100's & sub mini for my Core 200 + Sub 100 & I don't regret it at all. The soundstage is impressively wide sounding considering the lack of side firing drivers. I've had scenes in movies where it sounds like there's something at the side of my room, beyond the soundbar!

If you want high end, a Q930 (a B instead of D is likely cheaper) is good enough for you IMHO. It'll come with the rear surround speakers that also fire from the top. I have a C3 in a small living room and picked up a Q990 and it is definitely overkill. It's great but it's a lot for a small area. Don't get me wrong, it sounds great to me. It beats my older Q70T that I had paired SWA8500 read surround speakers. However, if I managed to find a Q930 at an even better price than what I got the Q990, it would have more than did the job. The Q910 would essentially be I think the same soundbar as the Q930, but the rear surround speakers are not wireless and only fire from the side. The best Samsung model that is only soundbar with subwoofer would be the Q900D. It's the same soundbar that comes with the Q990D (bigger than the Q930's bar). It's huge though. If you want to add the wireless rear surround speakers to the Q900 later, it'll be the SWA9500s. They are NOT the same wireless speakers as the ones that come with the Q990 but work similarly. They are wireless with front, side, and top firing. The most budget Samsung option that can do Atmos is the Q600C. I don't think they released a "D" model for this year so that might be cheaper. I believe the cheapest Atmos capable model this year from Samsung Q700D. However, the Q600 models are NOT compatible with the SWA9500s wireless surround speakers. The Q600 from what I am aware of are only compatible with the SWA9200s surround speakers. The SWA9200s I believe are only side firing. The cheapest bar that will work with the SWA9500 I believe will be the Q700C. It'll also work with the Q800 as well. The Q800D would likely be the "go nicer but not top of the line flagship" expensive.

well, budget and rear speakers don t go in the same sentence:). So, let me give u my recommendations. And yes, samsung is the best price to performance soundbar manufacturers in my opinion. The Q930D is the least expensive rear speakers option for you. I own one, im listening to it rn, best choice i ve take. Depends very much on where u live, but u should not spend more than €650 on them. Now let s talk about the more friendly budget options. first Q600c/Q6cc ( are the same thing) u can find them at about €250 and for their price, it s a very solid option. if u want something louder but not as clear and premium as the Q600 u need a B750D, almost 100w more, i would NOT go for the b650d tho, as it s their lowest model

Yes, maybe the q730 will be better then. But neither the Q600c or Qs730 have the Active voice amplifier, tho you can still put up the volume of the center Chanel on both of them, to hear the voices clearer. If you can find an old/used Q800b or C it would be much better. but if not go with the Qs730

If you already have a Samsung TV, the addition of Q-Symphony might make it worth leaning that way. I personally just got a Samsung HW-Q600C, w/ the SWA-9200s rears. Spent only ~$394, due to BF/CM sales (retail for the whole package is around ~$750). I’m pretty happy with it, although I can’t say I’d necessarily recommend it yet, as I and another Reddit commenter on this sub recently found a weird design flaw where one of the speakers is missingThat said, for my (fairly small) apartment home theater setup, the sound quality is AMAZING, and the speaker thing is only noticeable when you literally go looking for it, so if you happen to find a deal like mine, I’d absolutely say snag it (make *sure* you get the rears as well though). Otherwise, I’d say wait for a deal on one of the Q9xx models, as others are saying - they’ll come with the rears included, and the higher-quality up-firing speakers will give Atmos a *significant* boost.

r/Soundbars • What's the best soundbar with subwoofer right now for $800 USD or less? I don't need rear speakers, but am not opposed to them. Atmos up-firing support would be nice, but not required. I just purchased a Samsung HW-Q600C soundbar, on an awesome sale for Black Friday. Out of the box, it is what most reviews say it is: a generally pretty decent mid-range soundbar, with good overall audio quality and a decent sub, but slightly weaker performance with Dolby Atmos, due to the underperforming up-firing “Acoustic Beam” height drivers. For the price I paid, I was honestly pretty happy with it already (especially as I have a smaller apartment, and therefore can’t really justify/fit in a larger, more expensive soundbar. However, just after purchasing the soundbar, I came across a pretty decent deal on the SWA-9200s rear speakers ($97, on Cyber Monday), and figured what the hell, I’ll give them a try. IT. WAS. SO. WORTH IT. I cannot say enough how much I *highly* recommend adding the SWA-9200’s to your setup, if you have the Q600C soundbar. The soundbar is decent enough on its own, but adding the rear speakers to it takes it *to a whole other level*, in terms of sound quality, and overall experience/immersiveness. TBH having experienced it with and without them, I don’t think I can really say the soundbar by itself lets you experience true surround sound (and therefore it has NO way of accurately recreating Dolby Atmos - regardless of the up-firing speakers). However, by adding the rear-channel speakers in (and placing them slightly *higher* than the listening position, to accentuate the height effect), I really believe it turns the system into a *true* 5.1.2 setup! It may still be missing something in the height effect over a system with proper ceiling mounted drivers, but as far as this soundbar goes (and for the price - even at retail), I don’t think you can get much better anywhere, and if you’re thinking of spending *any* money at all on your home theater system, I would go with these, first. I may have gotten mine for a deal, but having heard the system with them now, I think I’d happily pay up to $200-250 for them, and ***absolutely*** would buy them at the typical retail of $148! Anyways just an extra tip, for all you Q600C owners out there, who are wanting a little more out of your system 🙂.

I bought this soundbar two months ago. All I can say is that it is brilliant for the price. The sound stage is fantastic plus the sound effects on the surround sound mode. Now I ordered rear speakers and I'm waiting for them to arrive. Go for it and you will not be disappointed.

Thanks for this. It’s a Samsung tv as well although I’ve not been solely looking for a Samsung bar. I wasn’t even looking for one tbh but I intended to do so in a few months. I stumbled across this one and it’s literally double the price or more everywhere else.

Thanks for this. Will have a look however it ended up going in my lounge with my older curved Samsung. Not sure it’ll have q-symphony due to its age but will check. My older lounge soundbar ended up in the room the new one was intended for. Hugely impressed with the soundbar.

I have the q600c and I can’t say the upfiring speakers do much but I also don’t have another soundbar to compare. So maybe there is an overall broader sound because of the upfiring speakers. I wouldn’t worry about the wifi option as you’re right, just run music streaming through your TV and avoid the lower quality bluetooth sound. It’s a lower end soundbar but it’s 20x better than my TV speakers. I moved from a house with a robust 5.1 AVR system to an apartment with this soundbar and I think it’s pretty great and still get that punchy feeling of the audio being presented as was intended.

Honestly, the **Yamaha SR-B30A is a hidden gem**! Even more so than the SR-B40A. I bought the SR-B30A ($299/ regular $450) over the holiday to compare it with the Samsung HW-Q600C ($350/ regular $700) that I bought. And I ended up keeping the Yamaha. It performed much better in bass despite only having the built in subwoofer, as compared to the separate subwoofer on the Samsung. The Samsung had better sound separation, as it's a 3.1.2 vs the Yamaha's 2.1 -- but the **Samsung was WAY too tinny**. The Yamaha despite having less channels sounded much richer. The audio from the Samsung was pretty good for movies, though the bass was still a bit lacking, but where it failed miserably was with **MUSIC**. I played with all the settings on the Samsung, which are fairly limited and couldn't get music to sound decent, zero bass... and again, very tinny. The Yamaha sounded almost as good for movies, still much richer sound, but not as clean sound separation -- but for music it sounded much much better than the Samsung -- almost like it was in a different class. The reason I chose the SR-B30A over the SR-B40A is the built in subwoofers **AND it supports an external subwoofer**. So I picked up a wireless Klipsch subwoofer from Costco to pair it with the B30A -- total cost was maybe \~$500 CAD for both the B30A and the Klipsch subwoofer. It's an AWESOME pairing, more bass than you'll really need -- but you can crank it up if you want to physically feel the rumble! And the sound quality and bass from that pairing is way better than any out of the box soundbar/sub combo you can get for $500. CONS The few things I don't like about the Yamaha are, like you said, the fabric vs the metal construction. But I think the fact that really high end speakers use fabric to cover speakers, I think it was a deliberate choice by Yamaha to use fabric over metal for quality of sound purposes! So I think **there's a reason it's using fabric** and it's not to save money! This could be a reason why the Samsung, which was all plastic/metal, sounded very tinny. The other minor things I don't like are it doesn't pair as well with my Samsung TV, which is to be expected. It doesn't show volume level on screen. And the soundbar has no display, only a few lights that blink -- which isn't very intuitive. Samsung wins here.

On Amazon the 9200S have a lot of negative reviews but I think most of it is because it usually happens in Samsung sound bars that the level of each channel is very badly configured, right? It happened to me with the center channel of my HW-Q600C, I had to raise it to +6, I guess with the 9200S I probably have to do the same, right?

I have a q990d in the living room, which replaced my old 6.1 Bose speakers (not a typo, 6.1), it was significantly better, specifically for dialog. Then I bought a q600c for my bedroom, which was an huge upgrade on an old Samsung TV. I didn’t want the rear speakers, since I don’t have the space for them, and I wanted to be able to connect a player (for plex) directly to the bar and have atmos (the q600c has up firing speakers). Is it as good for atmos? No, but I think it is a good compromise for the $.

I would seriously recommend you go and listen to them in a store. I wanted to get the hisense 2100 for 115 with discount (150€) for my tv, since the reviews are good, but after listening to it and comparing to the next recommendation of q600c for 300 with discount (550€) decided against it. The 2100 was not really a good upgrade compared to the tv, and the q600c was a significant update compared to the hisense, even though every graphic during tests are almost the same.

The hw-q600c can use q-symphony with a compatible samsung tv. That adds the speakers in the TV to the surround sound to make the spacial experience a lot better. Check your TV model to see if it has q- symphony

So I bought the Q600C with rears and the Hisense AX5125H and plan on returning one of them. So far we've been more impressed with the Hisense actually. The Samsung does get louder, but being in an apartment, the Hisense is still plenty loud. But the key difference is that Hisense seems much more immersive with its own dedicated rears. The extra rears we had to buy for the Samsung never seem as in sync with the main speakers as the seamless sounding Hisense. Like yes they work and there isnt any audio lag, but the Samsung still feels like separate speakers in comparison with the Hisense. Our rear speaker placement isn't the best though (on top/side of our couches).

I've not had any delay with a 990d on PC using pass through. The q600c I had however was unusable with out of sync pc audio. 990d is fast enough at processing anything that I was able to additionally pass the signal through an earc hdmi/amp splitter before it gets to the sound bar and pass that audio clone through a home cinema receiver to add more subs and a pair of ancient bookshelves as sides before I noticed any sync problems (don't ask I had spare equipment lying around).

Q600c or vizio elevate SE if you are wanting atmos. Polk has atmos but only pseudo-atmos in their lower end models. upfiring drivers are not really polks thing. I believe only one of their bars has upfiring and the rest of them are pseudo-atmos.

so far been using our Q600c for a few times, generally for movies. So far not bad. I feel its abit weak on helping us hear the dialogue in some parts of the movies, but for the action parts its pretty good imo. havent tried it for games so not sure how it sounds for that. I think for value for money its pretty ok already. Of course for more superior sound you will probably have to spend more.

In your placement the q600c is likely gonna be almost as nice the qs730. I have actual experience with the q700c which from the specs seems nearly identical and probably is just a different model per region or retailer. That can be quite common with tvs and soundbars. I got the q600b. Which is nearly identical to the c. The difference is actual up-fireing speakers vs "acoustic beam" which is some tweeters/perforations and software. Just set the balance to front. And maybe a better sub, but it's the same size and I'm 50% sure same sub. Basically, q600c= metal, better build quality, but nicer sub and low end, more expensive, atmos B750= plastic mostly, 5 speaker not 3/wider soundstage/a bit fuller, slightly weaker low-end. I honestly think being able to play Atmos tracks even if you've cut off the Atmos speakers as much as possible would still be an improvement. The mix isn't "thinking" in 5 channel or something like with DD, but in a 3d space. It's just virtualized surround. As well, I don't think there's much better value on the market on a budget than these Samsung bars. Maybe the lg s65q or Sony g700. But I mostly still prefer these choices.

I have a Samsung 3.1.2 soundbar. I have a fairly long, narrow room with a 65in Sony Bravia. It has a lot of preset modes, music, TV, voice emphasis, cinema, etc. It works with eArc, so I plug all my devices into the TV, use the eArc output from the one HDMI to the soundbar, and for my TV, I've gone into setup and can use any of the various remotes (sony br player, roku, cable box etc) for volume of the soundbar. It recognizes the devices. If the issue is budget, space, or both, and buying a 2.1 with receiver or integrated amplifier, and a sub... is out of the question, then a soundbar of this caliber is a great value. It's leaps ahead of soundbars you may have heard 3-4 or more years ago. The bass pleasingly rumbles for movies. The voice emphasis is well pronounced (in that mode, but does well in other modes too). Music seems to envelop the space (in small to medium spaces). I can add on a set of L/R bookshelf speakers and a dedicated sub to this soundbar and essentially have a 5.1, but I believe they are specific Samsung products/models that only work with this soundbar model. I don't know why someone would spend the additional money in L/R and sub with a soundbar, but it's an option. A soundbar is clean, space saving, easy to setup and easy to use. Could you do better with a receiver or integrated amp, L/R/C/Sub... you bet. But it costs you a lot more. There's a lot to consider going the receiver or integrated amp route. The Int amps commonly don't have hdmi, but they do usually have optical and sometimes USB, Bluetooth, and sometimes Phono. Emotiva TA1, or Rotel A12 (or A12 MKII) are feature rich, in example. The newerish receivers will often have 4 HDMI inputs, one with arc or eArc, HDCP 2.2 or 2.3, optical, sometimes usb, phono, network, wifi, and Bluetooth. The Marantz NR1510 is one to look at. The of course you add speakers and a sub. Looking at the used market, you could build a budget friendly 2.1 for say $400 conservatively, but it probably won't have all. the bells and whistles of a soundbar. It's worth jotting down every feature you think you'd want before shopping. And with older receivers, you could hook up a wifi/Bluetooth streamer to it to gain those functions either thru optical or HDMI.

I too prefer prefer adaptive. Because it not adapts to locations of speakers and space set up, but it adapts to the type of movie or show you are watching. But keep in mind, it's what Samsung thinks, not your personal preference. Regarding the lack of rears, it depends on the movie or show. Most of the time, you probably wont hear sound from the rears unless the sound was required. This was something that took some time for me to get used to. Now, its more like I get surprised if sound from the rears are very active in action movies or even the overhead sound effect from atmos. There 2 two things I do that help. I use my Roku Ultra and that helps me to ensure Dolby Vision and Atmos are always on, even if it is artificial. The other is when I play my PS5, I keep the sound output on amplifier so I can enable Dolby Atmos and that is a VERY noticeable difference.
