IMHO, the Q800D is an incredible value and will not disappoint. While the F series does have the newer compact sub, the actual driver size is smaller. The Q800D has an 8in driver, while the Q800F is a 6.5in driver with an 8in passive radiator. Both are superior to the S800 series, as they'll have much richer tone due to their larger drivers and higher wattage.
r/Soundbars • Samsung S800 v Q800D v Q800F ->I get where you’re coming from, but I’d respectfully disagree. A HomePod 2 stereo pair does an excellent job with clarity, imaging, and smart room correction. For music, it’s genuinely impressive, especially if you’re invested in Apple’s ecosystem. That said, when it comes to home theater performance, an entry-level premium soundbar like the Q700f or Q800F brings things the HomePods simply don’t, dedicated centre channel for clearer dialogue, a wireless subwoofer for deeper and more powerful low-end, and up-firing drivers for true height effects in Atmos. Those aren’t just marketing terms, they’re measurable hardware advantages.
r/HomePod • 2 HomePod Gen 2 or minis ->I can understand your logic. I’ve got a bunch of Apple devices, one HomePod 2, and a Samsung Q700C. Let me give you some perspective. If you’re comparing a HomePod 2 stereo pair vs the Samsung Q800F, it comes down to use case. Objectively, the Q800F is the stronger home theater setup because it has a dedicated sub, a centre channel, and real up-firing speakers. That translates into around 40–60% better performance overall for movies and TV: deeper bass, louder output, and clearer dialogue. HomePods hold their ground in music playback though. In a medium-sized room with Apple TV and Apple Music, a stereo pair sounds very clean, accurate, and integrated. The gap there is smaller, maybe only 10–20%, and in some cases HomePods actually feel more natural. So: For big cinematic Atmos, explosions, and room-filling sound - Q800F wins hands down. For music, simplicity, and Apple ecosystem integration - HomePod 2 pair can be just as satisfying. Basically, if your main priority is movies and immersion, go with the soundbar. If it’s music and seamless Apple integration, the HomePods won’t disappoint.
r/HomePod • 2 HomePod Gen 2 or minis ->Firstly q-symphony is more of a gimmick so don't bother with it(it is nice but no big deal). Also the q800c is a better soundbar than the bar 500, so go with the samsung. Yes go with the q800f if u can.
r/Soundbars • Has anyone tried the Samsung Q800F soundbar ->Samsung Q800F, I have bought it two days back its absolutely amazing. Go to samsung store and listen if demo is there. JBL is more on bass side good for music though, LG is not good in general.
r/Soundbars • [India] Good Dolby Atmos Soundbar under Rs 35000? ->34,000/-, mumbai. I am also using with TCL TV. Go for it, it’s good.
r/Soundbars • [India] Good Dolby Atmos Soundbar under Rs 35000? ->LG is 3.1 while samsung Q800F is 5.1. Samsung also have 3.1 which is convertible and close to 28-29k, see demo for as well.
r/Soundbars • [India] Good Dolby Atmos Soundbar under Rs 35000? ->I don’t really like the new subs they have on the F series. Returned my Q800F for this reason, looking forward a D series at a good price
r/Soundbars • I want a Sonos but should I just get the Samsung Q990D/F? ->D series soundbars don’t have the new compact sub that comes with the F. I also noticed the bass lacking on my 800F, returned it for this reason as well
r/Soundbars • 11.1.4 Soundbar ->F series sub is terrible compared to the JBL. My bar 700 module had much better sound than the 800F I bought, and that bar is a few years old now. I would go with the JBL if bass is important, otherwise the Samsung will be best overall
r/Soundbars • 11.1.4 Soundbar ->LG 75TR is poor. Moreover, Don't buy any model that doesn't support any Wifi. Go for Samsung Q800F. You will get that at Samsung Corporate/Student Website around 35K. You can also try for Philips 8967 around 30K LG SP8A (If you get it somehow)
r/Soundbars • Recommendation of soundbar ->Go for Q800D or Q800F. Q800D you can get it under 35K. I got it for 34K almost 1 year back.
r/Soundbars • [India] Good Dolby Atmos Soundbar under Rs 35000?
r/Soundbars • Has anyone tried the Samsung Q800F soundbar ->I had the q800f for a couple of weeks this month, it’s a great sound bar for sure really like the q symphony with the Samsung but I had to returned it because I got a good deal for the q990d , at the same price that I bought the q800f, an well let me tell you something having the rear speakers is definitely a game changer. Very happy with my decision
r/Soundbars • Has anyone tried the Samsung Q800F soundbar ->I'd pick the Klipsch setup. That's my exact setup and it's an awesome system. Really fills my room quite well. Unless you can find a Samsung Q800D, then I'd grab that over the Klipsch. But I wouldn't buy the Q800F as I think it's a small downgrade from the Q800D due to the subwoofer. That new subwoofer is the same Sub as the S800's slim soundbar series subwoofer. I've personally had both the S800B and the Q800B and the older Q800B single 8" subwoofer is significantly better than the 6.5" + 8" PR design. I'll never understand why they did this but I can only assume it's to put a little bit more distance in the difference between the Q800's & Q900's considering they both used to have the same subwoofer design (or extremely similar). But I definitely think they could've come up with something better than what they made
r/Soundbars • Looking for a soundbar in the $500 range, for large space, preferably with sub ->If you want to go for the Q800's, get the 800D & not the 800F. The older subwoofer is significantly better. Otherwise I would look into the Q900F.
r/Soundbars • What soundbar without rear speakers (no space for them behind couch)? ->Sub is definitely not better. That new subwoofer is a major downgrade from the previous subwoofer. I've had both the Q800B & the S800B. The 800F is the same subwoofer as the S800B (6.5" driver + 8" radiator) & that subwoofer doesn't come remotely close to the 800B subwoofer.
r/Soundbars • Q990D or Q990F ->Bro... I felt exactly. I thought I was the only one
r/Soundbars • Samsung S800 v Q800D v Q800F ->I also bought and received the Q800F on July 3, and it sounded amazing at first. However, after a few days, it seems that a software update negatively affected the soundstage, and I no longer feel as if I am in a theater. I believe the update was released on July 9 (version: 1013). Have you experienced a similar issue? Please let me know your observations. If you did not update, Please do not update to ver:1013
r/Soundbars • Samsung S800 v Q800D v Q800F ->Yes, none of the smart features are working as intended. The much-hyped Samsung casting and mirroring features between Samsung devices do not work at all. I have to connect my TV to the 5GHz band to get 4K quality, but then the soundbar can’t communicate with the TV for wireless communication, even though both are connected to the same router. Initially, I lived with that as the sound was amazing. But now, Samsung spoiled the experience with this update. This soundbar does support 5GHz; however, according to the documentation, it does not support Wi-Fi 6. I am in India and using the latest Airtel router, which runs on Wi-Fi 6. https://preview.redd.it/ftmvptoc4fef1.png?width=355&format=png&auto=webp&s=c0dfdf020d0d106920381f2492a47290570f6daa
r/Soundbars • Samsung S800 v Q800D v Q800F ->It did not detect 5GHz for me either. I am doubting if it is due to the Wi-Fi 6 of the router. SmartThings app only shows the 2.4GHz band in the supported networks. I am really disappointed with the sound after the update; there is no surround sound, and it feels like an ordinary mono speaker. It feels like some channels are not working at all up to volume 25, and even beyond that. Earlier, it used to be room-filling even at volumes 8 and 10. The sound quality is far less impressive than before the update.
r/Soundbars • Samsung S800 v Q800D v Q800F ->The solution to get Alexa working is to uninstall the Amazon shopping app. SmartThings was unable to decide where to redirect the link - the shopping app or the Alexa app. Once you uninstall the shopping app, it works. You may need to try 2 to 3 times, though.
r/Soundbars • Samsung S800 v Q800D v Q800F ->Im in the same position as you.. I got the Q800F last week but think I’m gonna return and get the Q990D.. from Samsung with the EPP discount it’s selling for $749.. but you see a huge difference in the 2?
r/Soundbars • Has anyone tried the Samsung Q800F soundbar ->Is the older friend tech savvy? If not, I'd stay away from the Sonos app. I'm not a fan of it at all. Plus, the Sonos Beam 2 without a sub will be completely underwhelming in a large room. And adding the Sonos mini sub itself is $500, the Gen 3 sub at $600 or the Gen 4 sub at $900. My 3 recommendations for the $500-$600 price point with a subwoofer are: * (1) JBL 500MK2-5.1 (currently at $550) https://us.amazon.com/JBL-500MK2-5-1-MultiBeamTM-Calibration-Assistant-Enabled/dp/B0FHBVS6GC * (2) Klipsch Flexus w/ 10" sub ($599) https://us.amazon.com/Klipsch-Flexus-Sound-System-Subwoofer/dp/B0D1SKD9CJ/ * (3) Samsung Q800F (this is an open-box option for $514) https://us.amazon.com/Samsung-Subwoofer-Q-Symphony-Integration-HW-Q800F/dp/B0DY1XXYT7/ I actually have the Samsung Q800F but if you like something with more bass I would choose the JBL or Klipsch option because they both come with a 10" subwoofer, vs the Samsung's smaller 6.5" subwoofer.. i'm not impressed with it at all as it's too small a sub for the system. All 3 soundbars offer a wireless subwoofer that can be placed anywhere in the room.
r/Soundbars • Looking for a soundbar in the $500 range, for large space, preferably with sub ->Yes, this is my current setup.
r/Soundbars • Has anyone tried the Samsung Q800F soundbar ->I got this at 750 CAD it’s amazing
r/Soundbars • Best soundbar without rears ->Samsung is amazing i got Q800F
r/Soundbars • Best 5.1/5.1.2 Soundbar $400? ->I got 800F and i am so impressed that i returned my Bose Ultra smart soundbar .I got both at same price and Samsung gives you a subwoofer with it
r/Soundbars • Is the Samsung HW-Q990F/D/C that good or it's just a "Reddit" hype thing? ->Just grab it i got Q800F at that price in Canada Q930F is on sale right now here still the price is 80,000 🤦🏻♂️
r/Soundbars • Samsung 930F @ ₹47K ->After weeks of testing across the city to find the perfect Dolby atmos supported soundbar that is the perfect choice for watching thunderous movies/OTT and testing ore than 20 soundbars in person, I bought the one which I never tested in store or anywhere else ever.! I bought the Samsung Q800F out of all the options and I couldn't be happier!! Got it for 36k INR directly from Samsung website. Crystal clear vocals - 10/10 Upgraded smaller sub - 10/10 Atmos content - 8/10 Ease of use and UI - 9/10 Customisation - 8/10 New features - 9/10 My setup - Samsung 55" AU series with Q-Symphony + Govee smart lights *Why I rejected the LGsc9s After reading detailed tech reviews everywhere on the internet, I was super convinced to buy this soundbar even if I did not own a recommended pairing buddy - LG TV Soundbar lacked the punch I was expecting at that price and serious bass issues that isn't customizable. Bass at low volumes was just missing. The soundbar is no doubt tuned well but just doesn't felt as nice as the JBL BAR 500 in output and feels...also,no rear speaker support for future proofing this. JBL bar 500 pro Multibeam felt unreal in the store with sample music being played from the JBL Module itself. Now I know these modules are tuned and output is roided to get the best out of sample ssoundbars but it did feel unreal! Where it really felt flat was the movie scenes and content. All the channels in the soundbar and sub felt uncoordinated at all the right times. Did not feel like a 38k soundbar value to me at all. Plus it was rated lower than sc9s in all technical outputs and more rightly so. -Why I went for Samsung Q800F without testing it. I had clear benchmarks for multiple LG models I tested -sc9s, 77ty, sg10ty, JBL BAR 500 PRO and a few more like yamaha and Sony. LG speakers were biased towards LG TV ecosystem and JBL soundbar were towards music. When I came across samsung Q series and read reviews for the Q800D and C ( previous Gen), I was absolutely sold! the latest Q800F the reduced Sub size, added chanel separation and tons of small incremental features and feel sooooooo much more balanced. + I have a samsung tv so Q symphony ads like 10% of extra jazz to the contentim playing which is quite neat! Overall the output is amazing. Shows I watch are dolby at most content on apple TV, and Netflix. Game of thrones, peacemaker, the rookie + sci-fi movies really makes you feel that lowkey thumping bass. Conclusion. -Go for LG only if you have an LG TV and wow symphony. -Go for Samsung otherwise in all other cases. -Skip JBL unless you only play music via the soundbar. Pro tips -Got discounts from LG and Samsung directly from website coupons. Reach out to support very very helpful. Also applied a little corporate discount at Samsung via their corporate portal.
r/Soundbars • Lg Sc9c vs JBL 500 pro vs Samsung Q800f - INDIA ->See, lg sc9s really performs well on ratings on all the internet platforms you'll find. But it really lacks on bass. Samsung, even with a much smaller sub, kills it! LG is 3.1.3 Samsung is 5.1.2 - better chanel separation Both won't have rears peakers. Q symphony and wow symphony in Samsung and LG respectively add like 10% extra vocals...so there's advantage on the same brand ssoundbars. I've tested both on various content. I'd still recomend samsung. It's just amazing!! Symphony compatibility or not
r/Soundbars • Lg Sc9c vs JBL 500 pro vs Samsung Q800f - INDIA ->Do you know when the F series bars are expected to come out? I own a q990c In my living room, and I do want to add a q800f to my bedroom. I love how small these subs are.
r/Soundbars • 2025 Samsung Q990F ->I bought a Q800F and frankly i love it. Most content on Atmos or Dolby 5.1 sounds amazing. You won't feel much of a difference in music if you use YT music like me.
r/Soundbars • Samsung S800 v Q800D v Q800F ->I'm also using Airtel with WiFi 6, bro. But for me it doesn't detect my router's 5Ghz network. I like the sound quality still but it leaves much to be desired. Spacefit pro feels like an absolute gimmick.
r/Soundbars • Samsung S800 v Q800D v Q800F ->My husband and I purchased this soundbar a little while ago, and it's hands down the best purchase we've made. It has DTSX, HDMIeARK, 5.1ch Dolby Atmos surround sound. Here's the link: https://www.samsclub.com/sams/shop/product.jsp?productId=P990342627&mobiledetect=false&pid=092410_RFI|ANDROID|Featured_Products|SAMSUNG%20Q-series%205.1%20Channel%20Sound%20Bar%20with%20Wireless%20Subwoofer%2C%20Q-Symphony%20%26%20Dolby%20ATMOS%20Audio%20
r/Soundbars • Soundbar Recommendations ->Really the only catch I'd say is you need a SAMS Club membership. But you can always sign up for the $20 holiday special. When my husband seen this at store, he was flabbergasted. It's on sale right now for $300.
r/Soundbars • Soundbar Recommendations ->The Samsung 800f is available without rear speakers and u can add them later if you want.
r/Soundbars • £150-250 soundbar ->stretch the budget by 5k and get the q800f
r/Soundbars • Best 5.1 soundbar suggestions around 25k-30k in India ->I was considering buying the Q600F and Q800F. I think they should really be just used as they are as buying surrounds to go with them costs almost as much as the Q930F or Q990D here in AU and not as good as those supplied in the higher level soundbars as they only add physical surround speakers (True 5.1.2) and without adding rear atmos or extra channel processing found in the q930F (True 9.1.4) and q990D (11.1.4 full cinematic).
r/Soundbars • Looking to buy my first ever soundbar under 50k INR ->Q800d/f is your best option. Slightly over your budget but worth it. I have bought 800d and q930f and both were excellent for movies.
r/Soundbars • Recommendations of a sound bar with Dolby Atmos and HDMI out. ->Get a Q-800D/F and add the SWA-9500S rear speaker kit. All the performance of the 930, but cheaper.
r/Soundbars • Sound Bar and subwoofer with 4K 120hz passthrough for Xbox/PS5 ->Soundbars (high tier) nowadays are very good. Although. But if you really appreciate surround sound and/or music I would recommend at least a 3.1 system+AVR instead. I was never pleased with my Samsung Q800 soundbar, so I went back to regular speakers again and couldn't be happier.
r/LGOLED • I need suggestions with soundbars ->Q800 and Q990 are both the absolute best price/perf in their respective categories. Are they the best thing singe bread came sliced? No. Are they the best package you can buy in their price ranges? Absolutely.
r/Soundbars • Is the Samsung HW-Q990F/D/C that good or it's just a "Reddit" hype thing? ->I’ve had the sennheiser ambeo, Bose smart ultra, and the Samsung q800, in that order. First two were returned for connectivity issues with my newish Samsung tv. The q800 has been great (the ambeo probably had the best surround but only if it connected). Q symphony is amazing. With the first two bars, you could clearly tell the sound was coming from below the TV… q symphony fixes that completely. And the subwoofer is amazing.
r/Soundbars • Has Bose lost its crown? ->At a minimum get the samsung q800. Movies with Disney, prime and apple TV sounds great on surround sound. Unfortunately Netflix wants to ridiculously charge for 4k and dolby surround. Like 29 a month
r/Soundbars • How much better is a soundbar compared to the TV speakers? ->Q800 I have them and then added rear and was even better
r/Soundbars • What soundbar without rear speakers (no space for them behind couch)? ->If the Q990 doesn't fit, don't force it. I will say that the 9500s rears that you can purchase are decent, but NOT the same speakers that you get with the Q990. I would 100% buy a Q990 for future proofing just for the improved rears, even if I didn't use them for awhile. Alternatively, but the Q800 now (I love mine), and then upgrade to the Q990 when the time comes. it's not going to kill you - you can always repurpose the Q800 to another room or sell it to get a bit of $ back.
r/Soundbars • Q990D or Q800D? (I have no space for rear speakers) ->I'm gonna assume you're in US, you can get Q700 or even Q800 at around $350-$400 depending on your luck. Too bad you just missed out on massive Christmas sale. (Don't bother about the latest D model, unless you absolutely need some minor feature upgrade. You can get C or B model cheaply if you're lucky.) I highly recommend mid range Samsung soundbars just because their surround expansion kit is massively cheaper than any competitors. You can get SWA-9500S rear speaker set later for around $150-$200 depending on your luck. Even if you don't plan to upgrade with surround kit later, they are still solid overall.
r/Soundbars • Recommendations in $250-350 price range? ->You could have got the 930f for £150 in that 45 minute period with the discount code and cash back. You need to keep an eye out at the start of every October, for sound bars and for tvs as they do silly offers where it makes more sense to buy it and sell what ever you have. I got a q800 and a 65 inch q80r when newly released for £ 1400 total price. Tv was £2100 and sound bar was £800 before cashback.
r/Soundbars • Got the Q990F for a awesome price💥 ->Yeah Samsung q800 or q900 series are both stellar for dialogue. I hated the older Samsungs for dialogue, but anything b, c, d or newer in those ranges are awesome with dialogue, even when you don’t turn on the voice enhancement. My q990b is fantastic for voice clarity even in action movies at any volume.
r/Soundbars • Which soundbars do you have real-world experience with, or have reliable info about , that help with dialogue clarity? ->I have a Samsung Q800 and for TV it's amazing hardware. Features like midnight playback and dialogue boost works great!
r/BudgetAudiophile • What are the best speakers under 11.5 cm wide? ->I don't care. Soundbar looks super slick. https://preview.redd.it/ebgaucm7dfqe1.jpeg?width=4096&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6971c3b6be2ec932d2531d7bcc0006695e795d09
r/BudgetAudiophile • What are the best speakers under 11.5 cm wide? ->Samsung q800 or better. The 930/990 models have rear speakers (need power). Comes with a sub. Sounds awesome.
r/Soundbars • New homeowner looking to invest in a soundbar ->If you want high end, a Q930 (a B instead of D is likely cheaper) is good enough for you IMHO. It'll come with the rear surround speakers that also fire from the top. I have a C3 in a small living room and picked up a Q990 and it is definitely overkill. It's great but it's a lot for a small area. Don't get me wrong, it sounds great to me. It beats my older Q70T that I had paired SWA8500 read surround speakers. However, if I managed to find a Q930 at an even better price than what I got the Q990, it would have more than did the job. The Q910 would essentially be I think the same soundbar as the Q930, but the rear surround speakers are not wireless and only fire from the side. The best Samsung model that is only soundbar with subwoofer would be the Q900D. It's the same soundbar that comes with the Q990D (bigger than the Q930's bar). It's huge though. If you want to add the wireless rear surround speakers to the Q900 later, it'll be the SWA9500s. They are NOT the same wireless speakers as the ones that come with the Q990 but work similarly. They are wireless with front, side, and top firing. The most budget Samsung option that can do Atmos is the Q600C. I don't think they released a "D" model for this year so that might be cheaper. I believe the cheapest Atmos capable model this year from Samsung Q700D. However, the Q600 models are NOT compatible with the SWA9500s wireless surround speakers. The Q600 from what I am aware of are only compatible with the SWA9200s surround speakers. The SWA9200s I believe are only side firing. The cheapest bar that will work with the SWA9500 I believe will be the Q700C. It'll also work with the Q800 as well. The Q800D would likely be the "go nicer but not top of the line flagship" expensive.
r/Soundbars • Sound bar to go with my LG C4 ->That tv sucks😪😪 but yeah like the other comment said , get the Q800, that way you’ll have q-symphony with your tv. If you can, get the Q990C it’s gonna be even better
r/Soundbars • New homeowner looking to invest in a soundbar ->Samsung Q600 or Q800 Or sonos beam
r/Soundbars • Should I Replace the Samsung HW-E450? Which Soundbar (Around 500$CAD) Would be Better for Voice Clarity? ->Yes, maybe the q730 will be better then. But neither the Q600c or Qs730 have the Active voice amplifier, tho you can still put up the volume of the center Chanel on both of them, to hear the voices clearer. If you can find an old/used Q800b or C it would be much better. but if not go with the Qs730
r/Soundbars • Should I Replace the Samsung HW-E450? Which Soundbar (Around 500$CAD) Would be Better for Voice Clarity? ->I would suggest to try out Samsung 800 series and 990 series in the display/showroom experience and then decide if you want to increase budget and get proper soundbar to match up with tv. I’ve tried these and i now own 990d and its worth money spent ! In india i got this at 78K.
r/Soundbars • Sound Bar recommendation ->If you get a Samsung soundbar with Q Symphony that will add an extra dimension to your system that you won't get if you choose another brand
r/Soundbars • A Best Buy employee recommended the Sony S400. They didn’t mention the Samsung one and I already bought the Sony. Is it a big difference? ->If you have a samsung tv or plan on getting one go with the samsung. Q Symphony is dope
r/Soundbars • Should I go with the JBL or the Samsung? ->FYI, I already had the Samsung soundbar when TV shopping. I thought it would be kool to have the Samsung TV to use with the Samsung soundbar- Q Symphony, but in the end it wasnt enough for me to not get the G4.
r/LGOLED • What is the best soundbar for LG G4? I think of S80TR, is it good? Also will there be a real difference compared to inbuilt speakers ? Thanks! ->Get the Sonos system. Samsung is terrible at support. Further you can buy the Sonos components from Costco. At least most of them. Return policy is quite generous as you probably know. Don’t be tempted by the Samsung pricing. It’s just not as good or reliable as the Sonos systems. He’ll even the JBL soundbar systems have better sound than the Q series.
r/Soundbars • I want a Sonos but should I just get the Samsung Q990D/F? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
