I don't think there's any sound system that won't distort at the highest volume, but it's just the soundbars are that good that going above 25 is not necessary. I have a Q800f with 9500s rear speakers, in a big sitting room merged with my kitchen and I watch all my content between 19 to 25 volume, and the subwoofer rattles everything around, but yesterday I watched Blade Runner 2049, and I couldn't go past 21. I imagine if it was a very large hall, it would be maximum 35-40. The atmos effect of Blade Runner is insane, that said, these soundbar systems are very powerful. 10 years from now when JBL, Samsung, LG and Sony get into Quad systems full-time, we wouldn't need home theater systems anymore, the JBL 1300MK2 is an absolute beast of a system. Get yourself a soundbar and see what we mean.

I have the Q800f with rear speakers, for music (stereo only obviously) it comes from the soundbar and sometimes from the rears if the production adapts to it, are you saying if I want the rears to sound as loud as the bar when playing stereo music, I should use the Sound grouping option? Like watching atmos content but in music stereo mode where all the speakers are used at the same time?

If you are like me and can't fork out 900 - 1000+ dollars/euros for the 990f, don't push yourself into debt for a measly soundbar. I just got the Q810f and the 9500s rear speakers as a Black Friday package deal for 549 euros (instead of 699 euros for the sound bar + 249 euros for the rears). Lucky Me!!!! The soundbar alone with the subwoofer sounds like a dream, the bass is so tight and punchy I don't think I will ever have my volume higher than 25. Mounting the rears yesterday, tbh I am short of words. It's spectacular. Which changed the system from a 5.1 channel to 7.1 (with the rear speakers) Except you live in a mansion and you want everybody in the mansion to hear you, you DEFINITELY do not need to spend more for the 990f IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD IT, the 800f/810f will do just fine, because honestly if you live in an apartment complex, you will never get your volume higher than 25 otherwise your neighbours would call the cops My advice: get the Q930 as suggested in the comments or Look for the package deal of the 800f/810f + 9500s rears in your various electronics shops or buy the soundbar alone (black Friday sale 499 euros/dollars) and then purchase second hand 9500s rears which will still bring you lower than 900 dollars at the end. Don't buy the LGST80 crap or whatever it is called that comes with rear speakers for 499, for a better sound get the Samsung. Have a good evening.

Hey I think you were the one that advised me to get the Q810 a few days ago. That soundbar is great man, the woofer rattles my doors at volume 18. Thank you The price on the Samsung bars are crazy for the average worker

The Q800F is the best for what you need, I have it and the audio is crisp, I was watching a scene yesterday where there was cannon fights, rainfall, waves crashing in the sea, and somehow it managed to separate every single element, I could hear the rain falls coming from the right, the waves from left and the cannons hitting hard with the subwoofer. It's an amazing system that also leaves you open to adding rear speakers in the future if you want. It's perfect for those of us on a budget

It depends, channel numbers do not equal quality. Insignia is not a huge premium brand for soundbars. An expensive 2.1 setup can sound much better than a cheap 5.1.2 set up. In your case it will be an upgrade being in the same brand. However.... Compared to more real premium soundbars that are 5.1.2, it will be absolute trash in that regard, and that's just the truth. Although you could still be happy with it, and that's totally fine! Just understand that these soundbars can get really great, there are more real 5.1.2 soundbars that would make you think "I didn't even know this is even remotely possible!" But obviously do what you're happy with. If you can afford to invest more.... You could get the Samsung Q800F brand new for $499 instead of $799 right now which is a 5.1.2 setup but it's all in the front, and uses clever techniques to try and be surround sound. You could later down the line get the Samsung 9500S rear speaker kit and make it a 7.1.4 setup. Without or without the rears you will be absolutely blown away compared to what you have or what you would consider getting. You could also go for quality for cheaper rather than channel numbers and get a Q600F for $297.99 instead of $699 which these are great deals! Not as good as the Q800F but if you wanted to save money, this will still outperform the Insignia. Woot(an Amazon overstock company) is selling them brand new, I bought a Q990F and it's been perfect. Without a doubt go with the Q810F, it's higher end. The QS750F(not Q750F) is more of a premium slim line soundbar, not exactly to push the best quality, but to get a great system as soon as possible, which will sacrifice in certain areas, like driver size. The QS750F will only be 5.1.2 total with the rears, if rears weren't there then the bar is 3.1.2. The Q810F+9500S will be a 7.1.4 system, the bar without the 9500S connected it's 5.1.2, so the rears also have height up firing speakers! The rears from the QS750F will be much lower end rear speakers. So yeah Q810F will be what I would get if you want pure quality and awesome Dolby Atmos.

Its great! I just set it up this weekend! I recommend the sound fit mode, sub +2 and maybe a notch or two up on the treble. Gamer pro setting also widens the soundstage a bunch.

IMHO, the Q800D is an incredible value and will not disappoint. While the F series does have the newer compact sub, the actual driver size is smaller. The Q800D has an 8in driver, while the Q800F is a 6.5in driver with an 8in passive radiator. Both are superior to the S800 series, as they'll have much richer tone due to their larger drivers and higher wattage.

Why is the sub positioned off the ground ? Like above an inch or some ? Does it benefit ? Just got my 800f.

Without a sub, the Sonos Arc is $450 refurbished on Sonos website. With a sub, I got a Samsung Q800F and it’s awesome. You could add satellites later too if you want. I have an LG S90TY that’s a bar and sub on my LG C5 TV and WOW Orchestra sounded worse than just turning up the volume so I ended up with the Samsung Q990F for $897 on Woot! It was a huge improvement but outside your budget. I’m just saying Wow Orchestra wasn’t that great. I bet it’s only good on the G5. And the LG sound bar was flat overall. I hope this helps.

Hey, what do you mean the glare? Do you mean the sound coming from the speaker would be affected by the lines? Like making it bad unlike the D? Really curious cuz I’m having an issue with my F and today when I turned off the top speakers (by connecting to optical cable and playing only 5.1) the issue seems to have resolved.. please let me know. Or you mean glare on the tv? Thanks

BTW i have it, and I see no glare or reflections on my TV whatsoever
