It depends, channel numbers do not equal quality. Insignia is not a huge premium brand for soundbars. An expensive 2.1 setup can sound much better than a cheap 5.1.2 set up. In your case it will be an upgrade being in the same brand. However.... Compared to more real premium soundbars that are 5.1.2, it will be absolute trash in that regard, and that's just the truth. Although you could still be happy with it, and that's totally fine! Just understand that these soundbars can get really great, there are more real 5.1.2 soundbars that would make you think "I didn't even know this is even remotely possible!" But obviously do what you're happy with. If you can afford to invest more.... You could get the Samsung Q800F brand new for $499 instead of $799 right now which is a 5.1.2 setup but it's all in the front, and uses clever techniques to try and be surround sound. You could later down the line get the Samsung 9500S rear speaker kit and make it a 7.1.4 setup. Without or without the rears you will be absolutely blown away compared to what you have or what you would consider getting. You could also go for quality for cheaper rather than channel numbers and get a Q600F for $297.99 instead of $699 which these are great deals! Not as good as the Q800F but if you wanted to save money, this will still outperform the Insignia. Woot(an Amazon overstock company) is selling them brand new, I bought a Q990F and it's been perfect. Without a doubt go with the Q810F, it's higher end. The QS750F(not Q750F) is more of a premium slim line soundbar, not exactly to push the best quality, but to get a great system as soon as possible, which will sacrifice in certain areas, like driver size. The QS750F will only be 5.1.2 total with the rears, if rears weren't there then the bar is 3.1.2. The Q810F+9500S will be a 7.1.4 system, the bar without the 9500S connected it's 5.1.2, so the rears also have height up firing speakers! The rears from the QS750F will be much lower end rear speakers. So yeah Q810F will be what I would get if you want pure quality and awesome Dolby Atmos.
Its great! I just set it up this weekend! I recommend the sound fit mode, sub +2 and maybe a notch or two up on the treble. Gamer pro setting also widens the soundstage a bunch.
IMHO, the Q800D is an incredible value and will not disappoint. While the F series does have the newer compact sub, the actual driver size is smaller. The Q800D has an 8in driver, while the Q800F is a 6.5in driver with an 8in passive radiator. Both are superior to the S800 series, as they'll have much richer tone due to their larger drivers and higher wattage.
Samsung Q810F. Good looking and nice soundbar.
Why is the sub positioned off the ground ? Like above an inch or some ? Does it benefit ? Just got my 800f.
Q800F is only $559 Excellent Open Box at Best Buy. If not the Q800D is pretty close.RTings compares them if on YouTube.
Without a sub, the Sonos Arc is $450 refurbished on Sonos website. With a sub, I got a Samsung Q800F and it’s awesome. You could add satellites later too if you want. I have an LG S90TY that’s a bar and sub on my LG C5 TV and WOW Orchestra sounded worse than just turning up the volume so I ended up with the Samsung Q990F for $897 on Woot! It was a huge improvement but outside your budget. I’m just saying Wow Orchestra wasn’t that great. I bet it’s only good on the G5. And the LG sound bar was flat overall. I hope this helps.
Hey, what do you mean the glare? Do you mean the sound coming from the speaker would be affected by the lines? Like making it bad unlike the D? Really curious cuz I’m having an issue with my F and today when I turned off the top speakers (by connecting to optical cable and playing only 5.1) the issue seems to have resolved.. please let me know. Or you mean glare on the tv? Thanks
BTW i have it, and I see no glare or reflections on my TV whatsoever
I second the 800f. You can always get that on sale or open box and it sounds great.
