1.You need better subwoofer placement,try sub crawl or just putting the sub in the corner. 2.In Smartthings app you have three settings.First put subwoofer on +6,then set adaptive mode and set equalizer on +6 and last setting is advanced settigs and enable bass boost. 3.I guarantee to you that the bass will be more than enough,for me it is sometimes even overkill.

At first i bought 930d and was told the bass is better than 990f.Or that the q930 is 95% of q990 which was also not true.I wanted to get 990d next but it's hard to get.So i returned the q930d, and bought 990f on sale and i can say,the bass,the clarity,atmos and music is much better than on the 930d.Well worth the money for me honestly.Don't get me wrong,Q930d was great overall but I still felt it could be better and wanted the best product.No regrets with the Q990F purchase.

Tbh, just try one 990f and see how it does. If you dont like it you can always return it. Volume wise it is plenty i have a decently size living room and I never go over 20 out of 100.

For music the 990f or 995f is underwhelming. Samsung is best for movies and tv shows.

I mean, you could put the rears in front from the 990 to get a wider soundstage

The 990 and 995f bass is indeed very underwhelming I returned it and swapped for the 990D for this very reason. The 990f’s weak point is definitely the sub. I really hope Samsung does something different in the sub department in future generations

I fucking hate that they went backwards and made a miniature sealed unit instead of making it bigger and better. They should have upped their game and added a 10in ported woofer. The drivers arnt even covered or protected it’s just stupid

Curious how u like it? I bought a 990f and ended up returning it for a 990D. I couldn’t stand the new sub. They went backwards instead of forwards. They should have put out a 10in ported woofer not the dumb little ceiled box they did. I couldn’t believe there were no screens over the woofers to protect them. I have kids and animals they would not have made it long. I am seriously impressed with the 990D tho especially when I got it tuned for my room. I thought the bass wasn’t gonna be enough but I was wrong it shakes my walls and floor I can feel it in the couch and my house is 2x6 construction and built like a tank. I like the 990D pretty much as much as my Nakamichi system in my theater with 2 separate woofers.

Ya seriously I would say only Nakamichi can beat Samsung 990’s

Samsung gets posted soo much because it is just really hard to beat especially for the money and most people want the best soundbar system for the money. My favorite soundbars are Nakamichi and Samsung and they are the ones I own so I recommend those to other people. I have experience with a lot of soundbars including the arc ultra complete setup and it’s great but you really pay a lot for what you get so I have a hard time recommending it. If you want the absolute best then go with a Nakamichi shockwafe wireless 11.2.6 or dragon and if you want the most soundbar for the money go with a Samsung 990 series even tho I don’t care for the 990F’s sub very much but it’s fine for a lot of people. JBL really stepped it up this year and I’m very interested in the 1300xMKII looks to be very promising. The Sony Quad to me is just like the arc ultra very good but really too expensive for what u get. The bar8 and 9 I feel just arnt as good as the 990 series. If you already have a Samsung TV then I highly recommend going with the 990 series they just go great together. Nothing is better than Nakamichi right now tho nothing can take on the shockwafe and it’s only $1699. It’s as good as some really expensive sound systems

The 990f will not be overkill don’t waste money on that Q60CF

The atmos is better on the Samsung and the rear speakers are much better and the soundbar is much better the only thing JBL has is bass and the ability to move the rears anywhere u want

Samsung really stalled on the 990F it’s a shame

I definitely think the 990D is better for music. I’m pretty positive that the actual soundbars use the exact same speakers in them. I didn’t notice any difference between the 990D and 990F except the sub’s. For heavy bass music like rap or hip hop the D sub sounded much better to me. In action movies with explosions and gun shots or loud cars or even dinosaurs running by I can feel the bass and it rumbles the couch a lot more

A good soundbar system will be just fine for u. The 990D and f do have a pretty good Dolby Atmos experience and are great choices. If you want the best Dolby Atmos soundbar set up u should check out the Nakamichi shockwafe 11.2.6 wireless system. It has 6 upfiring drivers and 2 10in ported sub woofers. It has the best Dolby Atmos I have ever experienced with a soundbar. It’s on sale for $1699 right now and completely worth it. I personally own one and also a 990D and a 5k AVR that’s a 5.1 with 2 ceiling mounted speakers.

It definitely wasn’t faulty it just lacked the umph and ability to really rumble my couch during explosions like the D does. I have a large living room I’m sure the F sub would be alright in a smaller room but the D with its ported sub is just better I know I’m not the only one that feels this way. If you got to experience the D’s sub you probably wouldn’t like the F’s sub nearly as much

My room is rufly 30f by 55f but is mostly carpeted. The D’s sub definitely hits harder than the B’s sub also. Hey I’m glad u like it but it was very disappointing for me especially coming from having the Nakamichi shockwafe wireless with the 2 ported 10’s in my theater. I really am satisfied with the D’s sub tho. There is just too much about the F’s sub that I don’t like

The 990F sub sucks

I didn’t like the 990F sub so I exchanged it for a 990D and I like it more. The 990D seems to get deeper and is for sure better for music. I’m sure the 990F sub would be fine for a lot of people’s wives but it is truly disappointing that Samsung didn’t go with a ported 10 or 12in instead. I have a rather large living room and the F sub just didn’t cut it. A smaller living room or space might be fine with the F sub tho

The 990f is a much better buy you get rear speakers and a sub. The 990 will be much more immersive. Has very good clarity and is so easy to configure with the smart things app.

Just the subwoofer. 990D comes with a ported sub and the 990F comes with a smaller sealed box with 2 exposed drivers

The F bass is underwhelming and has no covers over the woofers that’s a no go for anyone with animals or kids

If you were to hook up a D sub chances are u wouldn’t want to go back to the F sub. I literally put that F sub everywhere in my living room trying to get some decent bass and it was definitely better in some places than others but after having the Nakamichi shockwafe wireless in my theater for months by this point the F’s sub was just really underwhelming especially for music. When I picked up the D to give it a try I wasn’t expecting much and was thinking I would probably end up getting another Nakamichi for my living room but the D’s sub overperformed for what I was expecting and made me really dislike the F’s sub even more. I’m sure the F is plenty for some people but not me and a lot of other people. Samsung should have gone with a ported 10 or 12in sub but instead they went backwards and even cheaped out on woofer screens WTF? I really really wanted a Samsung to go with my 85in QN90B to take advantage of Qsymphony and that hasn’t disappointed thought it might be a gimmick but it really isn’t well with my tv it makes a noticeable difference when on or off

This is why I returned the 990f and kept the 990D the 990f sub lacked the boom and just couldn’t feel the F sub like I can the 990D. Both sounded the same in every other way to me pretty much. The D sub was much better for hip hop or rap music or really any other type of bass heavy music. I can feel the 990D much better in movies during explosions or gun shots you don’t just hear it you feel it. The 990f is great but the sub was underwhelming and more suited for smaller rooms than the 990D

I had the 990f for about 14 days actually 13 I returned it to Best Buy right before my return date ended. I traded for a 990D and I am really happy. I just couldn’t get the sub on the 990F to my liking no matter what setting and where I placed it. I put it all over too. They should have made the F with a ported 10 or 12in sub. I like the sub on the D quite a bit more. It’s not perfect but absolutely suitable for my needs and I have a large living room. If you can find it for $1000 or less I highly recommend. You should check out the Nakamichi shockwafe wireless also that is an awesome system and it’s only $1699 right now. If you are an absolute bass hound it uses 2 ported down firing 10in subs. The rear speakers and soundbar are really really good also and it’s all wireless like the 990 series. It’s a 2300 watt system so it’s extremely loud and hits hard. The 990D gets loud also and when you get the bass set up and tuned right with bass enhancement on it hits harder than you would expect it shakes the couch and the things on your walls

Just wait and try the F. If you are disappointed like I was with the sub return and get the 990D

The 990f would be fine for you. The sub is substantially more week that other soundbar packages and doesn’t get very boomy or shake the floor and walls to bad. You should definitely jump on that 800 euro deal. The 990 is a great soundbar and will be light years better than the tv speakers and a great experience

Yes it will be good for you and you can control how much bass comes out of the sub

Ya I have an SVS PB3000 in my theater and a Nakamichi shockwafe wireless 11.2.6 with the 2 ported 10’s on one of my TV’s so when I got the 990f for my living room in October last year I was sooo disappointed by the f’s sub. I played around with it for 2 weeks moving it around everywhere in my room with bass enhancement cranked to +6 and it was just underwhelming no matter what I did. I hope they get a bigger or even an option to add a second one in a future model with more wattage going to the sub I really like the rest of the 990 set up though.

That’s the new version I only paid $1400 in 2019 for mine. The point is that most everybody makes a better sub than Samsung and Samsungs latest sub is seriously underwhelming I hope they do something better in the future. Brands like JBL and Nakamichi are making Samsung subs kinda pathetic

Nakamichi has probably the best most powerful sub performance on the sound bar market what were u trying to get at there chucky? Rubbish lol I love that term yes +6 was all maxed out and it was sadly underwhelming. I’m not even close to the only one out there disappointed with the 990f sub I think you know that. I used the 990f for hrs and hrs and got a real good feel for the sub. It’s widely known that the sub isn’t Samsungs strong point I am more pleased with the output on the 990D sub its good for what it is does a decent job. I’m glad you enjoy yours tho that’s all that matters

PB2000 is sooo much better. I have a PB3000 and it makes the 990f sub sound like child’s play

Just think about this. The Samsung is literally on the same level of sound quality. I had the full Sonos arc ultra in my living room for 5 weeks before I ended up buying the 990f and then I returned the 990f and exchanged for the 990D. The Sonos honestly isn’t even worth it for only a few hundred more. There are things I like even better about the 990D than the ultra. There is no way on earth that the ultra is worth $1700 more that is freakin laughable. You can get the Nakamichi shockwafe wireless 11.2.6 for only $1699 right now and it is way and I mean way better than the Sonos arc ultra. The Sonos is pure hype and seriously overpriced it’s just that simple

If you want something with exceptional bass then you should check out Nakamichi shockwafe wireless 11.2.6 or the Nakamichi Dragon. They both offer the best subwoofers in the soundbar business. The JBL will also have much better bass than the 990f. The sub is the weak point for the 990. The Nakamichi shockwafe wireless comes with 2 ported downfiring subs and they are just awesome for watching movies. I personally own a 990D and a Nakamichi shockwafe wireless. The 990 is very good but the shockwafe is awesome

The Samsung 990 has some of the clearest vocals I’ve ever heard on a sound bar. Side by side the Samsung sounds pretty much as good as the Sonos. Sonos rear speakers are the only thing that’s noticeably better than the Samsung and even that is negligible

I would get the Samsung 990 series and use the surround speakers up front as side speakers

If that is all your budget is then I would find a sale on the Samsung 990 it comes with the bar sub and surrounds. I have had both the whole arc ultra with Gen 4 subs and era 300’s and a 990D it’s hard to beat what u get with the 990 for the price and both give an excellent movie experience and Dolby Atmos

Nakamichi makes really good soundbar systems that are worth the money. For around $1800 you can get the Shockwafe wireless 11.2.6 and it is worth every single penny. I own a 990, Shockwafe wireless and an AVR system in my theater. I highly recommend the Shockwafe wireless

Just installed the HW-Q990F yesterday and it’s absolutely worth the money. It sounds phenomenal and looks good, too.

Its Reverse. The F bass is less boomy, fast and clear which is great for most music BUT worse for movies. you need boomy, strong and slow decaying bass for movies yo be immersive.

Samsung hw-q995f, if it's on offer for less than €950. I paid €899 for it and I've been really happy with it. The bass is really punchy, but doesn't overwhelm the treble. Excellent, especially considering the subwoofer is so compact.

Hi. I had a JBL 1300mk2 and a Samsung hw-q995f (European version) in my home for testing. The JBL is more powerful and the bass is really solid. It puts out more sound than the Samsung, but its surround sound is not as precise as the Samsung. The Samsung also puts out a lot of sound and the bass is powerful enough, and it is also punchy and precise. The rear speakers are larger on the Samsung than on the JBL. My experience was that they also put out more sound and create better surround sound. Dolby Atmos works better on the Samsung. With this opinion, I am not saying that the JBL 1300mk2 is bad. It is also a top product. It is very powerful and a great choice for really large rooms. It also gets a special mention from me for truly wireless, i.e. battery-powered rear speakers. I could have chosen that too, even if my choice was the Samsung.
