I have the QN90D with the QS700F soundbar, and the difference between the TV speakers and Q-Symphony is night and day. But if you don’t have a good spot near the TV for the sub, you’re probably better off going with something like the QS90H. Moving the sub away from the TV can make the whole setup sound thin, at least that’s how it was in my case.
I recently got the QS700F and love it
I originally bought the 600c and it was good, but the newer model , qs700f has smart things app support, direct Spotify and WiFi support, and the bass sounds better. It has much more control of the sound with the app and remote too.
I just got the QS700F and love it. The 600c is still good, got it for my fam. I love the more modern features of the 700f, Spotify connect and app support. But if those don’t matter to you the 600c would probably be good. Edit : I ordered the QS700F through Samsung and got it for $479.99 using the education store discount.
I paid less than that for a brand new Samsung QS700F. I’m very happy with it. Doesn’t come with rears speakers v it can add them later. I won’t though because my small room doesn’t need it.
I just got the QS700F. My first soundbar with a subwoofer, previously had a couple different cheap 2.0 soundbars. I’m super happy with this one. I have a super small room.
Got the QS700F for €329 (NL) and i think it's quite good for the price. I saw that it should be slightly better/newer than Q600C, so perhaps that's a better option? I know that isn't going to make your choice easier haha.
I’m no expert but I am real happy with mine. Just as you say.
and probably the same Samsung quality of non-standard protocol and interop as their previous soundbars, where it wont talk properly to even samsung TVs, will randomly switch mode for no reason, randomly display either numbers OR +/- depending on its own whims and require rebooting every few days or it wont play any sounds
*Needing* a subwoofer to sound good is a deal breaker for me. I'm going to get a sub anyway, but if you need one to sound good, it means the crossover is going to be set so high the sub is filling out low-mids like male voices, which is far from ideal.
I got a samsung qs700f for $290.
It doesn't sound the best without the subwoofer for sure, with the subwoofer though it's pretty good. The bummer about this model is not being able to see and confirm that you are getting DTS, or Dolby Digital / Digital Plus. As far as I can tell, this one only has a way to tell you if Dolby Atmos is activated.
Have you tested this particular model yourself and deduced it was crappy? Or did you see the Samsung name and then make the assumption? I will not come out and say Samsung soundbars are an audiophile's dream, or that Samsung is the single best possible option for this price range, but I will say they make for excellent upgrades to TV speakers especially when you don't have the space or wherewithal to set up 7 channels throughout a room. Even for those where it may fit and they don't need to worry about angering their landlord by screwing holes into the walls/ceiling, many people don't like the look of having dedicated speakers all over the place, and would prefer the one simple and clean soundbar that provides them with a sound they are more than happy with. This isn't the audiophile subreddit, and I totally understand this soundbar isn't for people like you, but that doesn't mean it doesn't provide a good solution for others, especially if you enjoy being able to control your soundbar quickly and easily through the SmartThings ecosystem.
I am real happy with mine too, I really like the Spotify Cast and Tidal Connect compatibility, also the SmartThings integration
