I have the QN90D with the QS700F soundbar, and the difference between the TV speakers and Q-Symphony is night and day. But if you don’t have a good spot near the TV for the sub, you’re probably better off going with something like the QS90H. Moving the sub away from the TV can make the whole setup sound thin, at least that’s how it was in my case.
Got the QS700F for €329 (NL) and i think it's quite good for the price. I saw that it should be slightly better/newer than Q600C, so perhaps that's a better option?
I know that isn't going to make your choice easier haha.
Went with the Samsung QS700F integrated with the frame straight away, sound quality is excellent for the price, it’s nice that it’s all wireless and you can buy the rears separately if you want, or just opt to buy the 710F instead at the outset which comes with them.
I would have considered the Sonos options but my only Sonos speaker disconnects from my phone when using airplay every 20 mins or so, and I really wasn’t prepared to risk it or troubleshoot it, or potentially be looking at wiring everything in with Ethernet.
From my understanding you want at least a 3.1 system as that 3rd speaker is the central mid range one that makes a big difference to dialogue clarity.
You also want a dedicated subwoofer if you want rumbling bass, which is important for movie atmosphere and listening to music.
I picked up a Samsung QS700F recently on a big sale ($500 Australian - which is half price), and I am genuinely blown away by the sound quality. Dialogue is sooo clear (no need for subtitles anymore), and music sounds fantastic.
I can't realistically run the wiring behind the couch for a 5 system.
