I have the Senn Plus + Senn sub. They are excellent together. The sound in our room for music and movies is crystal clear and balanced. You can even enhance dialogue from their smart control app as well. Their Smart Control app is very easy to use to minimize or boost the ambeo effect and select among different sound profiles (it's cool looking too unlike the Sonos app). I've had mine for one year and have had zero issues with overheating or HDMI/cec issues. My ambeo system is also a part of my Google home system as I have a variety of different brands all connected for all home audio across my whole house. Spotify connect works great as well with the Ambeo. I strictly avoided Sonos due to them making you use only their speakers for whole home audio plus they had BIG app issues all last year and earlier this year as well. They have also made older speakers of theirs obsolete forcing you to upgrade, lame. If you have the Best Buy tech membership, they let you return whatever you buy within 60 days if you don't like it. Good luck with the decision!

Sonos stuff is great. When I lived in apartments I had the Arc/Arc Ultra and Era 300 and Sub mini in my living room and Beam Gen 2 in my bedroom. Once we got our house though I had to have real surround so I got some Klipsch towers with upfiring Dolby Atmos, center channel and surrounds. I’m going to add rear heights next all paired to a bad ass Onkyo receiver. I love Sonos for small spaces though. I’m going to pick up a set of Era 300s and a sub mini for my bedroom. Right now I have a Sennheiser AMBEO plus in there and my Beam is in the office. Sorry for the word vomit, autistic and you struck a hyper fixation 😂😂

i would prefer a plus+sub if you want only the bar then the max

I also got the Mini and the Plus if you don't need or want rear speaker there is nothing that comes close and i testet teufel/samsung/jbl/lg if you have rears Sure thats better but the ambeo comes realy close and soundwise its the best if they had rears it would easy one of the best, so if you not plan with rears there is nothing better you can buy

Its simple something like the sonos with rears gives you more of a bubble but without you can't go wrong with sennheiser nothing beat it in just bar+sub alone maybe you can add a better sub but then its wired

its overall better then 990f from samsung or 1300 mk2 from jbl in my opinion its the best you can buy without rears maybe kef xio is an alternative but its more expensive i´m super happy with it in my bedroom the only reason i have another soundbar in my living room is the lack of rears, you can´t replace pysical rearspeaker soundwise sennheiser is the best i have testet

Wow it’s $2500 but they say that wireless surrounds are coming. I bought the Sennheiser Ambeo plus with the hope that they’d release wireless rears. Rumor was that because it has 4 wireless channels for subs, that dealers were saying they heard it was happening. I even discussed it with Sennheiser but years later still no surrounds. I have the KEF matching subs- 2 KC62’s but I was disappointed after buying KEF lsk II and returned them. I kept the subs and paired them with a very high end Sony nearfield.

Each to their own. I have a 5.1 system with in wall speakers in my living room but for my 85” setup in a walkout and oddly shaped room I went with a demo Sennheiser Ambeo Plus and sub that I got an amazing deal on. No wires or receiver to deal with and it sounds really great. Once calibrated it’s pretty close to my 5.1 system. I wanted the Max but got such a great deal I couldn’t pass it up since the bar and sub were less than the sub costs new. I may wait for the new version of the Max if it ever comes out. But retail this is a $2200 setup.

I have an Ambeo Max and Plus on hand, and I did listen to Kef Xio at showroom for about an hour with my own music and movie scenes which I familiar with. Ambeo Max has the best immersive experience, you can easily tell by the side speakers placement, Ambeo Max and Plus has some angle to deliver sound to the optimal places, Kef Xio has only an 90’ side speakers so the sound has a hard time to deliver to the ideal places, this is physic. It has also a recent firmware update for few levels of vocal clarity, I have no problem to listen to the dialogue. Bass for music? Still Ambeo Max, but I suggest you to get a sub to unleash it for better audio quality by cutting low frequencies and focus on mid and high. The only thing to bear in mind is the Ambeo Max drivers is design by Neumann, whose well known in design of studio monitors, result is the audio quality is more like a monitor than multimedia speakers, it’s a plus point if you appreciate some original sound than artificial additions in sound.

I have Sonos arc ultra, sub 4, era 300s, era 100s and sub mini. Then I bought sennheiser amber plus for my bedroom. Overall Sonos win, probably because I have the theater setup but for a one on one comparison between arc ultra vs sennheiser amber plus, plus wins hands down. I am not an audiophile but seriously I was depressed or a day before I convinced myself Sonos make sense because of the compete ecosystem etc etc etc.

Sennheiser Ambeo Plus Rating: 7/10 The clarity and Spatial Audio is unmatched. If you only buy the soundbar (which is pricy by itself) it still struggles to separate dialogue on low volumes. Without the bass added (also pricy), it struggles to bring in lows which is not surprising. I thought it would be an easy all in one soundbar for the price, and in most ways it is.
