Actually I would recommend Sonos over Samsung only if >50% of the content you consume is music. Otherwise the differences are too small to justify the considerably higher Sonos Price. Again: This is just my opinion, I happened to compare the Samsung Q990D with the Sonos Arc Ultra/Era300s/Sub Gen 2. Both systems should outperform the JBL, which I haven't listened to myself.
Nakamichi Shockwafe is no big deal. Tried it like I tried the dragon over a year ago and it just doesn’t seem right for 2 10” subs to have average bass and my Quads Atmos is leagues ahead. I guess it’s okay for the price but I’d rather pay more and be happy with the quality than save and be disappointed. My Arc Ultra era300s and 2 subs was expensive but it does everything so well. It’s your money, you should try several different brands til you find the one that you love. After all that the Ambeo max with a svs pb 2000 pro or 1000 pro. But obviously wait until prices plummet
I agree LG is shit for soundbars and I love my arc ultra era300s and 2 subs along with my Sony Quads which to me are the best I’ve heard. Can’t speak about the jbl bar 500 mk2 but have heard the 1300x mk2 and it was much better than I expected.
I had the Samsung Q990B and it was good, but I switched to the Sony hta9 which was much better with atmos and now I have the Quads which is the best Atmos I’ve ever heard and by a lot! I also have a full arc ultra era300s and 2 subs as well. The Samsung just never got me excited about movies which the hta9 did better, the arc ultra does better and the Quads beat them all. If money isn’t a factor then try the Quads as they are so easy to put anywhere unless your ceilings are not flat and past 12’. Maybe it’s time to upgrade to avr setup if you have the space for it as any 5.1 that’s decent will beat all of these even without Atmos.
Yeah no chance, the dialogue is clearer than bose as I tested both of them in an acoustic room, the bose ultra + 700sub and surround and the Sennheiser ambeo max + paradigm sub 12 and sonos arc ultra + gen 4 + 2 era 300s, holy dudes man. Ultra was almost on par with the max, unexpected performance from that small pipe beast, dialogue is clear and the surrounds don't even stat to compare with bose, you already know it's better than bose just by looking at it. Well as for the sub, the sonos sub was definitely better than the bose and was pm par with the sub 12 at 85% volume with the gen 4 pm level 13, the low end was more felt in sonos and the sub 12. Well, one could argue that the sonos did sound better as a whole system but I do think that the Sennheiser is ofcourse better than the sonos bar given its size too. But there is no way you can actually have such a bad experience with the arc ultra, definitely the best I heard after the q990f's bar, the sub is terrible, when tested the 990, didn't even know whether the sub was in or not if not for the drivers being exposed and moving, not something I like as I'm a basshead.
I would avoid JBL or anything similar, Sonos is expensive but it’s pretty awesome for what you pay, it’s like Apple for soundbar. If anything goes south, they will surely replace the item, although usually their products don’t go bad or have defects. Price yes it’s expensive, I have Sonos arc ultra + sub gen 3 + era 300 as surround and it blows me every time. I would recommend you buy refurbished from Sonos official eBay or site, they are heavily discounted and they are like new. The only time I would go for something else is KEF proper 5.1 system, that will blow any soundbar out of conversation but again it’s expensive and it’s not plug and play. Edit: I see someone commented Nakamichi, yeah I would rate that one above Sonos, it’s amazing with similar price tag but sounds much better than Sonos.
