The only Nakamichi selling on Amazon is the shockwafe earc 9.2.4. The Nakamichi Shockwafe wireless 11.2.6 is what I own and it is seriously awesome. The shockwafe wireless would be a much better buy than the ultimea x100 dual. The Nakamichi shockwafe wireless is a big step up from the shockwafe earc 9.2.4. Nakamichi makes some seriously good soundbars tho.
I think the X100 Dual is right at the limit of where a soundbar's main advantage over a full home theatre set up, portability/compactness/size, starts to get lost. Thankfully for soundbar makers (and unfortunately for consumers), home theatre setups keep getting more and more expensive, giving soundbars a higher and higher limit to work with in terms of pricing. But yeah, especially at full price, I struggle to see the point of this product. Under 1K I think it's an interesting value proposition if you have some space and price constraints (especially considering how Atmos FlexConnect devices are being priced), but beyond 1K, especially 1.5, depending on your needs, you have options you can consider that might be more interesting than this product.
If your primary requirement is DTS support, and you want to achieve a true surround sound experience using satellite speakers, then the Ultimea Skywave X100 is absolutely one of the most worthwhile "all-in-one home theater" packages you can buy. Its design philosophy leans more toward providing a complete system configuration, comprising a soundbar unit, true rear surround speakers, and subwoofers.
I think the niche for something like the X100 Dual is people who still want plug-and-play simplicity but also want something bigger than the typical 5.1.2 soundbar kits. Not everyone wants to deal with an AVR, running wires through the room, calibration mics, etc.
In my opinion, for a system configuration like 9.2.6, the suitability really depends on the size of the room. If the living room is spacious enough, the advantages of such a system—such as a more complete surround soundstage and superior low-frequency coverage—become significantly more pronounced. Within its class, the X100 Dual offers excellent value for money; therefore, if you have ample room space, it certainly makes for a very intriguing choice.
My first bought Modell was the Poseidon d60 and even on this small Soundbar this delivered really good Sound. Now im on the Skywave x100 (that i got for a Test yes, but i also critized some Bugs in the system) . Im impressed how the products grow the last few years. Give this product a fair Chance and Test them by yourself. Dont hate all the products and Reviews. Take a look at the Ultimea Skywave series. I have the x70 right now and am preordering the x100 dual tomorrow when it drops.
But the fact is that even normal people should look elsewhere. Q990C and Ds can be had for just 700 and will kill this ulti-shite soundbar in sound quality. I heard the skywave 9.2 system in CES 2026. Nothing to shout about. Anyone who says this sounds great for music needs to get their hearing checked
Because even if u can't now, you definitely can save up for one. No seriously. It's going to last you at least a few years. Besides this ultimea 9.2 ch config costs about the same as q990d on Amazon now. Have seen it gone cheaper on major shopping events. And with the 990h released in ces, the 990f should be on clearance deals later this year Calling the 990d an intelligence tax...is an uneducated comment at best. That bar is killer for overall sonic performance, as whathifi would agree. this ultimea on the other hand...nah. But go ahead, knock yourself out 😂
Ultimea for me. Bought last year D80 boom. But if you prefer with height up firing Speakers get the sky wave x series. Besides affordability without breaking a bank but standard Dolby Atmos speakers is my preference for now. But if you have extra budget. Get the bar 800mk2 or 1000 of JBL. With regards to your preferred brand against LG, Sony theater 6 is better but extra functionality of Sony features will require Sony TV. Nevertheless its all good. Check also Polk magnifi series.

Having peeped the Ultimea lineup based on the buzz from here, they're merely mid-level cabecillas, that will likely take the place of Vizio now that Walmart's subjugation and annexation of that brand sent them in a death spiral towards oblivion alongside Onn! I would've been satisfied with the typical "black plastic crap" sound of Ultimea & other nobodies had I not been a reporter on a university student newspaper in the early '70s for my fellow scribes introduced me to 🎖️& platinum 👂ed audio as they enthusiastically waxed rhapsodic about McIntosh, Mark Levinson & Nakamichi hardware, I ended up getting hooked on that class of audio!
