I just purchased a Samsung Q990D for $1,060 after tax. Got it for an incredible deal ($1,500 for Black Friday + additional 30% off for First Responder discount) Before that I had a JBL Bar 9.1, it was good but the center channel would cut in and out at an unacceptable rate. I paid $900 for it on Greentoe Before that I had a Vizio V51-H6, it was surprisingly good for the price. Got it for $140 at Costco OP, I would stick with well known brands. Look at Rtings.com, they have incredible reviews and recommendations.
r/Soundbars • This soundbar good? Or at least good for the price? ->So, I bought this unit yesterday and returned it this morning. I set it up and tested it out prior to doing the firmware upgrade and will say that after the upgrade, the sound was much clearer and not so muddied. However, I found that dialogue, even with the ‘voice enhance’ on was particularly low, especially when using my Sony UBP-X700. This was even when watching Atmos content from the UHD player. I messed with the settings for a few hours, trying all different combinations, but still couldn’t get it to my liking. The sound coming out of my Apple TV 4K (latest model) was better, but nothing that really blew me away. Playing music through it wasn’t good at all. It sounded very ‘thin’. I get much richer sound out of my JBL Flip speaker than this setup. I am coming from a Vizio V51, which in my opinion, sounded better, even if the sound field wasn’t as wide. I ordered a Hisense AX5125H and am going to see how I like that. It’s gotten much better reviews than the TCL, so hopefully it’ll be a worthy replacement to the Vizio. I was really hoping to go from 5.1 to 7.1.4, hence the reason for the TCL purchase, but we’ll see how the 5.1.2 fares. I’m trying to do this on a budget and didn’t want to spend more than $500.
r/Soundbars • Thoughts on the TCL q85h? ->Go to Best buy or someplace else and listen to the Vizio soundbars in person. I'm not an audiophile but love good audio. Vizio definitely sounds better than tv speakers. I have the the Vizio V51 soundbar and I really like it. Their subwoofers are small but can put out a good amount of bass. My friend has the Samsung Q990 and he was shocked how much bass the little Vizio sub puts out.
r/Soundbars • Vizio Soundbar ->I'll say this as a Vizio 5.1 owner, it's alright. It's very light, plastic and simple. Plug into your earc connection, that's the only choice you have. There's no remote (which I'm ok with, tired of too many remotes). The app sucks. It's slow to connect and move around. The sound quality is cool. I'm not an audiophile. I don't have the ears for that anymore. But my 4k blu rays of Dune Part 2, Deadpool and Wolverine, and LOTR all were pretty fun. The tiny sub put out more bass than I expected. The sound is very localized, you know which speaker is making noises. I came from a 10+ year old Vizio sound bar, but the price for this one ($160 black Friday) was very tempting. This will be the last Vizio product I buy. I'm saving up for a standalone 5.1 later. But for right now, it's fun. I don't expect it to last ten years, like my last one did. Don't expect to be amazed, just enjoy the boom and rumble lol
r/Soundbars • Please help me pick out a soundbar from what is at my local Walmart. Was leaning towards Vizio I have a Vizio tv and like it. ->My tv speakers were so bad I bought a cheap Vizio 5.1 and it’s great for my needs Left right and sub and I think two more speakers in bar Has a pretty good Bluetooth to stream pandora from my phone Paid $139 on Amazon refurbished several years ago. I noticed just this week that Walmart has news ones for $199. But I wouldn’t over look refurbished on Amazon. Warranty not bad
r/Soundbars • Which of these soundbars are the best? Just want something noticeably better than TV speakers for ~$100. ->I have that Vizio 5.1 and it's definitely worth it for the price
r/Soundbars • If you had to choose between the two, which would you? Want to stay under $200 USD ->It totally depends on the soundbar. I am still impressed with the Vizio 5.1 system’s ability to produce a really nice sounding virtual atmos experience. I also have a Polk Mini ax and in my opinion it doesn’t compare to the Vizio. I also have a Vizio 5.1.2 system and I’ll still stand by that system as THE top of the line budget system. Saying all of that I’ll conclude by saying, none of those systems match my Sony HT-A9, but I wouldn’t expect them to. I had an LG SP7Y and took it back within hours of purchase. It soured me on LG soundbars quickly. Also, if you’re looking for a budget system, don’t count out ONN’s 5.1 or 5.1.2. They both are surprisingly good.
r/Soundbars • Is virtual surround sound worth it? ->Out of the 2, the LG is better but not by enough to really warrant the price difference. Gotta Vizio.
r/Soundbars • Having a hard time choosing between LG S60TR or Vizio 5.1 ->It's this one: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sku/6583400.p?skuId=6583400&sb_share_source=PDP
