Desky here, Both Desks are solid, While ours has a nicer controller and more options. I don't think anyone really notices the difference of 0.6" per second raising/ lowering, ours is still fairly quick. Either Desk would be a solid investment. Let me know if you have any questions \- Team Desky

Hey, Desky here!  I actually use one daily myself and can honestly say wobble hasn’t been an issue in day-to-day use. If you want to be extra sure, go with our dual motor frame, it’s super stable and handles most setups really well (even with larger tops like 72”). And of course, if you ever run into any issues or need help setting things up, we’re always here to help. Feel free to DM me, happy to sort you out with a welcome discount too 👍

\- Desky Here, Both Desks are stable and have minimal wobble, Both Desks are Good quality with reasonable warranty periods. Either Desk would be good for your needs. Where Desky has an edge i believe, is two fold. The Variety of Desktops that we offer and the quality of them. We have a huge range to choose from, but if you aren't particular and just want a plain white melamine desktop, we can do that. Our Melamine range is strong and hard wearing, and solid core, so not flimsy like you may find with other suppliers The other advantage i believe we have is our cable management system. Its clean, and does its job amazingly well at hiding cables out of the way and being accessible when you need it. If you have any questions, please feel free to DM me, we can also get you a discount code for your first purchase of a sit stand desk \- Team Desky

Motor quality is the first thing to check on cheaper desks. The specs might look good on paper, but you also have to check the brand of the motor they're using, if it's any good, if it doesn't get easily damaged, the motor noise, and how much of a pain it is if the electronic parts get damaged, etc. A lot of desks look similar on paper, but checking to see if there's any wobble at max height is what's going to tell you if the desk is sturdy or not. Most people don't think about it too much. Later on, you start placing stuff, probably heavy stuff, and it starts showing issues. Ideally, if you don't want wobbles and want that smooth looking height change, you'd want to get a dual motor standing desk. If you haven't come across the Desky Dual Laminate yet, check it out. It has dual motors, a frame that goes up to 78.7" wide, and cable management built right into the frame underneath. It moves pretty quickly and feels sturdy even when fully lifted, from what people say.

With that budget, I can recommend the Desky Single Sit Stand Desk for $600 AUD and if you can add $50 more, either the Desky Dual Ergo or the Desky Dual Mini Sit Stand desks. For the single motor ones, the memory buttons can get used daily and you can just tap one for sitting, standing, or walking pad height instead of holding the button down. It does get a bit wobbly at max height if you're really pushing on it, but that's pretty typical for this price range. Motor's quiet and the cable tray underneath keeps things clean. If you can wait for tax time and want something like an Omni or UpDown, those are bulletproof. But the Retail Display Direct one you mentioned sounds fine too since they supply offices. Either way, getting off that desktop riser is going to be a massive upgrade with two screens.

You'll want dual motors and a frame that can actually handle that span without flexing. The longer the desk, the more any wobble gets amplified when you're typing or leaning on it. The Desky desks goes up to around 82-83" and their dual motor setups are built for that width. Vivo's okay for smaller desks, but at this length I probably won't go with them. They tend to have inconsistent quality control and you don't want to gamble on stability when you're going that wide.

Hey, thank you so much for the reply! Must have missed the laminate version when looking over the site the first time around. Decided to go a bit bigger, so I went a bit overbudget, but I did end up purchasing the laminate desk in 70x30 along with a CPU holder!

Finally upgraded my Ikea L-shape desk to a Desky Dual Laminate Sit stand desk. I use a lot of heavy things on my desk so I needed something as sturdy as possible. Could not recommend Desky enough, its definitely one of the best desks i have purchased

Manual desks are a trap. You'll crank it maybe three times total before leaving it at one height permanently. I tested this with an IKEA one and I just didnt like it. Electric removes all the friction. You can switch mid sentence without breaking focus, which is when it actually helps your back instead of just sitting there collecting dust. Get dual motors. Single motor setups struggle with weight and you'll feel wobble when typing. $400 ones like Flexispot are all well and good, but some cheaper motors fail within a year. So you have to do some research on that. I can recommend you a Desky Dual Laminate Sit Stand Desk with programmable presets, around $529 after discount. Its a mid tier budget but better build quality if you're using it daily long term. Plenty of people do fine with cheaper options though. So overall just get electric. Manual may be good for budgeting, but its really just an expensive regular desk.

80Kg weight capacity and 70-120cm height range. This looks like a single sit stand desk, before you bite the bullet, make sure your sitting height is 70cm or more. Otherwise itll be a pain the butt and not ergonomic at all. I got my Dual sit stand from Desky, it was a little more than a single, but they will probably have a black friday sale.

Whatever you're choosing make sure the frame is stiff and won’t wobble at full height, because that’s the part that's a deal breaker. The more weight, the higher the desk, the more the wobble, so a sturdier dual-motor frame is usually the fix. You’ll never get zero movement if you push it, it’s kind of inevitable, but a good frame shouldn’t feel sketchy during normal use. If you’re replacing it anyway, Desky’s dual motor sit stand desks are one of the options that tend to stay planted at standing height.

Autonomous Desks have good build qualities, I think. They also have heavier frames. Magnus Pros are also good. Motors are quiet. This one has a 5 year warranty, which is shorter, but it holds up. Just know the desktop is not very deep. Desky's Alpha Dual goes down to 23.6" so you would actually get your feet flat. Runs $679 with their current discount code. Dual motor setup, same kind of stability you would get from the others. What's great about a lot of these Desky Desks is that they have a 10 year warranty. I think all of them have good cable management too, but you would have to look at video reviews or pictures if you like the look of the cable management.
