Get the frame and add your own desktop. I think that should keep you in budget, and you pick exactly what you want. Desky's dual frame doesn't wobble even at max height. Cable management actually works too. FlexiSpot's E7 Plus has the 4 leg setup if you want extra stability, but costs more. Desky frame plus butcher block from IKEA or Home Depot is what I'd do. Better motors afaik. Then I'd also look at the desktop material as well. A good core (not honeycomb) should suffice if you're mounting monitors or leaning on it.
With that budget, I can recommend the Desky Single Sit Stand Desk for $600 AUD and if you can add $50 more, either the Desky Dual Ergo or the Desky Dual Mini Sit Stand desks. For the single motor ones, the memory buttons can get used daily and you can just tap one for sitting, standing, or walking pad height instead of holding the button down. It does get a bit wobbly at max height if you're really pushing on it, but that's pretty typical for this price range. Motor's quiet and the cable tray underneath keeps things clean. If you can wait for tax time and want something like an Omni or UpDown, those are bulletproof. But the Retail Display Direct one you mentioned sounds fine too since they supply offices. Either way, getting off that desktop riser is going to be a massive upgrade with two screens.
You'll want dual motors and a frame that can actually handle that span without flexing. The longer the desk, the more any wobble gets amplified when you're typing or leaning on it. The Desky desks goes up to around 82-83" and their dual motor setups are built for that width. Vivo's okay for smaller desks, but at this length I probably won't go with them. They tend to have inconsistent quality control and you don't want to gamble on stability when you're going that wide.
This is a solid upgrade to be thinking about, especially if you’re already used to standing desks at the office. You’ve pretty much listed the main players in AU already, and to be fair, most of them will do the job. Where people usually start to notice the difference is a few months in rather than day one. If you’re thinking long-term, it’s less about the brand name and more about how the desk actually fits your setup. Frame stability is a big one, especially at standing height. That’s where a 3-stage, dual motor frame tends to feel more solid and gives you a better height range if you’re using it daily. The desktop choice matters too. Solid wood is a great call if you want something that feels more like furniture than office gear, and it does tend to handle vibration a bit better than lighter tops, but you’ll get natural variation in grain and tone which some people love and others don’t expect. It's also worth thinking about what you’re putting on it. Cable management is another one people underestimate until they’re living with the desk every day. If solid wood is high on your list, that does narrow things down a bit locally. A lot of setups we see pair hardwood tops with frames like the Desky Dual Sit Stand Desk Frame for that reason. It gives you more flexibility to get both the look and the performance right. If you’re open to it, what’s your height and rough setup? That usually makes it much easier to steer you toward something that’ll actually feel right long-term.
Upgraded from a butcherblock to a flexispot solid acacia desktop with a beveled edge for $180, love it. Desky desk frame for $200 on Amazon.

My butcherblock wasn’t on par with the rest of the setup, flexispot acacia turned out to be really nice. Drilling the holes took me forever but it turned out to be not that hard. The new desktop is slightly smaller than 48x24 & has rounded edges which went a long way for me
Solid wood or nothing. Possibly, idk, my desk frame is desky, no complaints. Like yourself I don’t stand much.
Nah, $200 Desky desk frame from Amazon.
I definitely second the desky frame - definitely worth it. I use it everyday in sit and stand mode when at work and gaming. It's holding up my mini PC for work, my personal midsize tower, a 34" curved monitor and 18.5" portable monitor along with a bunch of decor/knick knacks. It holds it all pretty well with not a ton of wobble even at a 45"
Desky and uplift are both solid frames, I think you'd struggle to tell them apart. I think the desky cable management is better than the uplift offering, as it's a solid metal channel that runs the length of the desk and clips into the frame as opposed to a bit of looped fabric on the uplift. The min top widths that display when sorting by smallest are wrong on that link cause it looks like herman miller and ergonofis (who have closed down anyway), put their measurements on their site depth first. Based on your list, desky has the smallest available desktop. Is also suitable for shorter users than branch as it goes a lower.
If I were in your shoes, I’d probably not build the whole thing from scratch. Just get an electric frame and throw on a butcher block top from Home Depot or a poplar workbench slab. Those hold up well and look clean after a quick sand and seal. For frame recommendations, I’d go with [Desky’s frames](https://desky.com/collections/sit-stand-desk-frames). They’re built heavy and pair well with any wood top if you don’t want to mess with stability issues. Go for that setup first and tweak the finish later.
