I’d skip Flexispot if you’re planning to game a lot on it. They look good for the price but once you throw on dual monitors and everything else, the wobble gets annoying. My cousin grabbed one of the Desky gaming desks not long ago and it’s been way sturdier than the cheaper frames he tried before. Setup took him about half an hour, and he hasn’t had to touch it since. The desktop’s roomy enough for his full pad, keyboard, and two monitors, and what’s great about it is that it has that textured feel that mimics a mouse pad, so you probably won’t even need one if you game on it. Another thing about it is that it just has that gamey feel, kind of like what you see with gaming computers too.
If I were in your shoes, I’d probably not build the whole thing from scratch. Just get an electric frame and throw on a butcher block top from Home Depot or a poplar workbench slab. Those hold up well and look clean after a quick sand and seal. For frame recommendations, I’d go with [Desky’s frames](https://desky.com/collections/sit-stand-desk-frames). They’re built heavy and pair well with any wood top if you don’t want to mess with stability issues. Go for that setup first and tweak the finish later.
I’ve had zero issues with the Desky standing desks themselves. The only negative I experienced was their power/cable management tray. Could never get it to install correctly, likely a manufacture defect. Their four leg desk is on carpet with wheels and my 100 pound dog just bounces off of it. He throws solid dog toys around and when that hits the table it’ll make a loud bang. The two leg desk on tile is also resilient with a power wheelchair user bumping into it occasionally. That wheelchair is over 500 pounds without user weight considered. I think it just depends on what you’re doing on the table and your toleration on position/activity.
I recently setup a Desky Quad Leg. Feels really stable. Was easy to assemble.
I've been using a quad leg Desky with a custom 100x36" top. Works great. Think the heavy weight of the top actually makes it more stable.
I'm using a Desky Quad Leg. Been working great. I only did the frame and had some local make a 100x36 top. Have three ultrawides, a computer, and 3 speakers on it, no issues.
I've been using the Desky Quad Leg. Really sturdy. Easy to put together. 4 motor so it's rated over 600lbs. Only issue is it might be too deep. If I remember correctly, the depth of the frame is around 35", so it might be sticking past your top. I used a 100"x36" top, but the width is adjustable on the frame. Motion is still smooth with that heavy top, one computer, 3 monitors, and 3 speakers. Here's a pic when I was first setting it up. https://preview.redd.it/crsxp95pgy1h1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1e073336c80b4e084d43c75dc166271107b36074
Upgraded from a butcherblock to a flexispot solid acacia desktop with a beveled edge for $180, love it. Desky desk frame for $200 on Amazon.

My butcherblock wasn’t on par with the rest of the setup, flexispot acacia turned out to be really nice. Drilling the holes took me forever but it turned out to be not that hard. The new desktop is slightly smaller than 48x24 & has rounded edges which went a long way for me
Solid wood or nothing. Possibly, idk, my desk frame is desky, no complaints. Like yourself I don’t stand much.
Nah, $200 Desky desk frame from Amazon.
I definitely second the desky frame - definitely worth it. I use it everyday in sit and stand mode when at work and gaming. It's holding up my mini PC for work, my personal midsize tower, a 34" curved monitor and 18.5" portable monitor along with a bunch of decor/knick knacks. It holds it all pretty well with not a ton of wobble even at a 45"
Desky and uplift are both solid frames, I think you'd struggle to tell them apart. I think the desky cable management is better than the uplift offering, as it's a solid metal channel that runs the length of the desk and clips into the frame as opposed to a bit of looped fabric on the uplift. Source: I have cable ocd.
The min top widths that display when sorting by smallest are wrong on that link cause it looks like herman miller and ergonofis (who have closed down anyway), put their measurements on their site depth first. Based on your list, desky has the smallest available desktop. Is also suitable for shorter users than branch as it goes a lower.
